@@Insignia-pp1eh Bro, 240Hz is really unnecessary. Especially at 4k. 144Hz in 4k or more then enough for 90% of People because their PC even barely runs 4k 144Hz
LG is REALLY stepping their monitor/TV game up! WOW! I currently have the C2 (48") and I love it ... I doubt that I could go back to 32". The 65hz refresh rate kills it, though. But I'm sure LG has something in the works. A 165hz refresh rate would seal the deal .... if I wasn't loving my C2.
lol that thing has 90 percent coverage of P3, let's not kid ourselves, it's a bargin bin panel that they stuffed into a new plastic shell. Funniest part was him editing photos on a panel like that. I had a 32 inch BenQ before my 5K monitor, aside from the obvious pixelation because 4k on a 32 inch panel just doesn't have anywhere near enough pixel density, the 95ish coerage of the P3 Gamut was pretty damn bad,
A step up? This monitor is a huge step down for me lmao. The picture quality is worse then their UltraFine line, less color accurate and then a SMART function that at least I wont have any use of at all? I mean a monitor is a screen for me, what content I am gonna watch on it will be from the device I have plugged into it :P But waiting for a new UltraFine in 2023/24
Picked this up for my kitchen/office area . My son watches UA-cam kids in the morning and I get work done after . The Ergo arm was a huge factor for me . The image quality is more than fine for video editing and regular gaming .
Ah! You finally posted the review! This was very helpful as there arent really any reviews on this monitor yet. Useful information that helped me decide whether this is best for my needs and budget. Thank you for this review (:
i just bought my son the Samsung m7 for $225 open box. i was hopeful this LG would do something better/different but its literally like the same product. That said. A like for the review and im happy that this featureset is becoming more readily available. Not at that price tho lol
I was looking for M8, after seeing this I liked this more... especially because you can tilt vertically and looks clean design. Honestly, I haven't used LG for monitor until now. Looks like should give a try. higher refresh rate will make it an all-rounder...however, that's a different category.
The monitor is slow compared to all other monitors with same specs due to Web OS (Smart), if you are looking to buy a monitor to function as a TV more then its good. The speakers do not have base but the volume is extremely nice. It is a VA panel display and not IPS. I think the brightness is high even though specs-wise it is low. I tend to work in an environment that has 'curtains on' level light, and it is too bright in that situation even when I set the brightness of the monitor to 0. Also, in the UA-cam app, you cannot type using your mobile. Mobile Keyboard is not supported for some apps, so you will need to type using magic remote. I will not recommend this for daily 9-5 work or gaming, but only for TV-like purposes or some light work that does not require speed typing or clicking. I am returning this just to replace it for same specs without Web OS but with IPS Display. Probably buy 32un880 or 32bn880u.
Just buy a streaming stick and plug it into the back of your monitor - Bobby basics. Also why get a monitor full of bloat wear things will only go wrong in the future and apps will slow down like on aging TVs
Seems that nothing much changed over to the previous 32“.. would you tell us how to actually resolute 4K on this with out tiny Mac OS window sizes? That ist just a Problem nobody speaks about…
damned 250 nits ??? I'm really starting to think that studio display despite it's price is the ideal companion for a Mac mini, cos I'm looking for a monitor who is pretty much as good as a 5K 27 iMac but in a 32 or 34 inches ... and it's so hard to find one ...
In terms of a glossy 4K screen there's pretty much no other option. All these LG's look great but once I realized they had matte scrrens it was a hard pass. That completely takes away from what I want when buying a 4K display. The Apple tax on that is just overkill for me so it's the OLED LG C2 that's getting my money. Even a 55-inch C2 would come up $300 less than an studio display. And a 65 inch one is only $100 more. 42 inches is the lowest they have so that would have to work for you.
its expensive but worth it if you pair it with a Mac mini or MacBook. I have the nano texture one and it's gorgeous. I wouldn't normally have gotten a matte finish, but the 5k and high pixel density make it work great for my editing/media consumption needs. I will also say that this is the best IPS panel you can get in terms of backlight bleed/IPS glow. And despite "not supporting" HDR, it looks better than my two other HDR 10 panels.
@@chuck7415 thx I wish they would make a 32 or 34 inch size.... but I have some time before my Mac mini M2 comes on the 1st of march so I'll still look it up and watch the refurbished store too ^^
finally I've found a god deal , a brand new Studio Display for 1300 euros instead of 1700 , and im so happy to have it , it's sleek ^^ ( and the 4 thunderbolts ports on the back are a blessing )
After exploring all possibilities I come to a conclusion that one will need independent devices a desktop monitor with high refresh rate and a tv with punchy colours zedblack background without oversaturating image video quality and without any redish or greenish shade .
I bought this display and connected it to my macbook pro M1 Pro and it doesn't shot 60 Hz refresh. only 30 and lower, tried over multiple hdmi and usb c cables. Any ideas?
So nothing particularly interesting whatsoever, its not OLED or miniLED, not 120+ hz, doesn't have good blacks. With all the great tech coming out for tv's and monitors there is no reason to buy this.....
Any thoughts on this as a second monitor next to an ultrawide curved 34" LG? I like the idea of being able to easily switch between vertical and wide. I don't game, I make music and produce podcasts.
My dream dorm room monitor would be a QOLED version of this monitor with thunderbolt support and the support for an external woofer either via audio out or wireless.
Great review, thanks! If I were to connect my personal MacBook on the USB and my work Windows machine with the HDMI, how easy is it to toggle between the two?
if its a tv then it definitely comes with a remote, therefore very convenient, if not/led monitor lg usually use -not sure how to call it- navigation pad that easy to use (usually left is the input) can be placed bottom mid or back

Samsung M8 is 400 nites. Vs this one at 250. Samsung M8. GG.

250 nits is very low! You need at least a minimum of 350 to 400. And only 90% . Its an average overprice monitor
did take time to tell what the inputs are....very poor
Monitors with low Adobe RGB coverage tend to distract their naiv buyers with bells and whistles that doesn't really add to the image quality at all 🤣
This feels so old. 250 nits, thick as a bible, giant chin. It’s hard to believe it wasn’t first released 8 years ago
Why great design and lack of specs? If it great performance it has ugly red, rgb, circle.
