OMG! The Spinners are one of my favorite vocal groups of all time, love these guys. Everytime I hear "Mighty Love" it makes me think of my dad it was one of his favorite songs, Rest on in peace Daddy I miss you so much!😪💯❤️
That moment when Olivia Newton-John came up to speak for the first time and everyone stood and applauded was one of the most incredible uplifting moments I’ve ever seen at any concert/event like this. This event was 16 months after Newton-John had been diagnosed with Breast cancer the first time and courageously fought through it and had been declared healthy a few months prior to this. The audience was acknowledging her for her courage and bravery more then anything else. She remains courageous to this day. This was a fun show to watch and I’m so glad you can find 70’s music here on UA-cam because it was a great decade for music.
2wks after my 23rd birthday this came out. 5 yrs into 70s nostalgia & this made me miss & love the 70s even more. To me it's looking like the 50s & 70s were the most loved & missed out of all the decades, & the most celebrated during their nostalgic time. I can't begin to imagine a show like this for the 2000'$.😀😂😃🤣 The 1970s 4ever ! ! ! ! ! ! !🤩🤠🤓😈😇👴👵🤰🎅🕺💃👣🖕💝💋👡👢🐎🦅🦈🦋🌻🌼🌻🌼🍁🍓🍔🍟🌮🍻🌎💈🚕🕰️🎃🎉🎈🏈🥊⚾🎵📻🎶🎸☎️📺📷📬My Childhood .......🙂
Fantastic show. Russell Thompkins Jr and Stylistics, Spinners, BeeGees, Rod Stewart and so many more greats. I totally enjoyed this. Think you will too. ⭐🎶⭐ priceless memories of yesteryear. Many of them gone now. Pay close attention youngsters. This was how history was made!!! 🎵🎶🎵 ( and yes, STREAKERS were popular " appearances" in 70's.)
@@musicmixesforyourheartsoul4129 That was not the original name of the show. The NBC part is not on any of the promotion leading up to the show. Just a little bit of trivia
I can’t thank you enough for uploading this. I worked this show but never got to see it on TV. Better late than never. Thank you thank you thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
During the time this was filmed my friends and I would go to CLUB 1970 in Hollywood. I recognize several of the guys and girls dancing in the audience, from CLUB 1970. GREAT Memories!!!!
I remember seeing this when it aired back in 1993. It was fun seeing so many greats from the 70's, both from TV and music. But the one person I was hoping to see, and I know many others were hoping to see, wasn't there, and that person is David Cassidy. He was a huge part of the 1970's, but he wasn't a part of this TV special, and he was never mentioned once! David Cassidy made a big comeback in the early 90's. It"s strange that someone who was such a big part of the 1970's was excluded from this 70"s celebration. This TV special aired long before he passed away. Where was David Cassidy?
@@andrewpotok2661 Okay, that was very rude, and unfunny! I know David Cassidy was an alcoholic, but please don't joke about it! Alcoholism is what killed him! Nothing funny about that! 😡😡😡😡😡
I know the name but I don't know too much about her but this was an excellent performance. Especially when the rest of the girls came up to the stage and they were all singing together really good stuff
Shai introduces the fabulous Russell Thompkins Jr and the Stylistics. At 1:15:59 What the crap...they had Shai try to sing one of Stylistics greatest songs....." You Make me Feel Brand new"..... no. No!
Thank you so much for posting this in its entirety. I love this so much!
RIP to those who are no longer with us. God Speed to them.
R.I.P. to those performers who have passed. 😞

I remember watching this live on NBC? I think.. when you knew everyone was watching the same thing and really enjoying it.
@@Kreemerz Yep You were right it was An NBC Special!
@@markasflood124 That's probably why the title of the video is "NBC SPECIAL - A 70'S CELEBRATION" Just a guess! :-D

I love that the commercials aren’t cut out
Lenny & Squiggy were a real kick in the pants! Thanks for posting this!
I'm glad Bobby was able to fully recover from his racing accident.
Cool, even a streaker!
Watch it, Martin Mull, I eat oatmeal for breakfast every morning! LOL
Good show, during the finale Joni of Sister Sledge and Linda Howard were getting down cutting a rug in their element. ❤🎉
This type of special would only be on a streaming platform today.
That was fun.
1993 😀
Or 1973 ?🙂

I saw KC & The Sunshine Band, in the 90's @ Va Beach.
Talor Daynes performance is performance was just blocked in many countries. if your wondering why this video does not play
This must have been quite a while ago. Since Maurice and Robin Gibb were still living.
November 1993
@@troybellamy4615 You can tell from the pale denim jeans they're wearing that this was early 90's! And, newsflash, now in 2022 pale denim is back!
Nice one, Tom Yaz.
i have some new VHS conversion equipment .. can you tell?
Looks really good.
Thank you so much for sharing! This is wonderful.
Taylor Dayne REALLY shines in this. too bad it was in the tail end of her hot career.

Ugh, why is this in mono? I have this in stereo; if the copyright police haven't yanked this then I'm probably safe to upload it.
Have you uploaded it in stereo?
just found this also i have a very good quality version from Australian TV recorded in stereo sound
@@VFAFOOTY Where can I find it please? I worked this show and never got to see it on TV. I’d be ever so grateful. ❤️❤️❤️
When did this air?
I believe it was the fall of 1993

This is kinda bizarre, music performances with "stand-up" comedy.
Okay nene
Every performance is great except for ash schtick by Sonny Bono. he's a bummer. He should of been cut out!
Come on, he made it like a giant Sonny & Cher show ! Love him , R.I.P. Mr. Bono🙂
