The motor is what makes the R1 special but honestly unless you are a seasoned rider you can't tell much difference because all the liter bikes are crazy fast. There is so much soul in that crossplane motor it is amazing.

The thing that stops me getting an R1 is the tall ass seat height. I’m 5”7 and live in London so I feel comfortable if I need to put my foot down. The S1000RR feels more compact and suited for me. My GSXR600 is perfect for me though ❤️

I filter a lot in crappy central London traffic so it’s always nice to be able to put my feet down to squeeze through really tight gaps. I suppose I’d get used to the R1 in time

I really want this bike but its costs around $30k after conversion in India is it worth it? For comparison the cheapest litre class is zx 10r for about $22.5k This much power will be impractical on Indian roads bit still intimidating can't decide🤔

Yeah the r6 is out of control right now. It is the best track ready 600, and they don’t make them anymore, which drives demand up. But for the street, I think there are better 600 options that won’t shatter the bank account

I don't know if this helps you but I hope so. I owned a 600 for two years (2016 CBR600RR) and upgraded from that bike to my 2016 R1. I also recently test rode a 2018 R6. In my opinion, a liter bike is totally over-powered for the street. A 600 is way more agile and easier to ride. Also, I feel like I had way more fun on the 600s as on the 1000s (I rode a S1000RR and Rsv4 recently, too), because you can give it full throttle and you're still not crazy fast. You can pull through gears better and are more "one with the bike". To everyone out of my community who asks me "600 or 1000?", I always answer buy what you want, but a 600 is so much more fun and emotion. Hope this helps you somehow
That's the problem, '20> are a bitch to try to flash, you're better off going with a '19< that ecu isn't as incripted, as the man said. I love my '18 mt10. MUCH more comfortable than an R1, got mine with 1kmi for $9800, practically a new bike. I found a yosh alpha 3/4 decat system new for $600, that and a 2WDW flash and you have a legit 150+whp short wheelbase bike that is an absolute blast for a shade over $10k. Pretty hard to beat!

Honestly, I wouldn't buy it a second time. I have a 2016 R1 and if it didn't have the CP4 Motor and the aggressive looks, I wouldn't own it any more. Driveability is crap on this bikes, at least on public roads. Every other BMW, Suzuki, heck even Rsv4 is driving way easier than a R1. I can tell, I drove them all.
I own the 2016 R1 also. I find it fine on the roads. Need to set up the suspension though. This includes changing the front to fully soft. I weigh 65kg. If you want my settings let me know. This is the first 1000cc bike that I haven't wanted to change to another bike after a couple of years of owning. I love it!

Undertail exhausts created terrible center of gravity situations. So most manufacturers switched back to the side mount.

Retail here in Norway is about $31k, youll maybe get a ‘17 for $17k and ‘14 would be $15k ish…
