@@Michael-H23 i agree. I only have the one bike, and i would love an s1000 they are so beautiful and refined. But that mini v8 in the r1 is pretty mean also. I actually scratched my car with my bike last night pulling into the garage and i was WAY more concerned about the bike than the car haha

For me it's the sound.....that's what gives the cross plane and the V4's more characters. Characters as in stand out 👌🏾

The new R1 is a really great bike, but nearly excessively powerful for the road. In contrast, the GSXR 750 is about the perfect amount of power for road riding, a lot easier to modulate the power and easier to ride. Of course, every dude dreams of getting the big bike, so I had to find out myself and finally got one before I retired from sport bikes. No regrets, it is a premium machine and thrilling, but takes more vigilance to ride in control than the 750.
Also have the 2020 R1. Engine is one of the best ever and bulletproof quality, loads of character and performance. Looks are subjective but in my opinion its the most bang for the money if u compare it with other manufactors. Great video

Finally! I've been waiting to get my 2020 R1 tuned before I get a cat delete and take it to the track. Can't wait!

@@Daniel-dj7fh but a better breathing engine that isn’t running lean and gives you more performance is definitely noice mate.
@@kevinsoto7878 normally bikes are tuned to run right with the "lack" of breath ability of standard pipes. Surely there are slight optimizations to be done to improve things here and there. But more produced power means more wear and that leads to a shorter lifespan.
Generally, everyone who removes their cats and run straight pipes and don't tune the bikes after that do more damage to the bike than good, even if it can "breathe more, which again is relative since it needs xy back pressure depending on the tune
Ive had a tuned 2015 R1 for 5 years and have an itch for something new, the new one isn't different enough to justify the cash jump so I'm looking at the S1000RR M pack, so this video was useful to me, thanks 👍
Yea good choice, IMO the 2015-2019 R1 looks better than the new gen. New R1 just looks like a fat R6, old R1 had a really sleek and aggressive style to it, that just isn't there on the 2020+.

Crossplane for life brother. Nothing on the market beats the sound. And isn’t that what it’s all about in the end? I have a 2016 R1. Fully modified with flash, full graves, and the list goes on. Like you said, no reason to go brand new 👍
With the amount of new bikes you have the advantage to ride, you should honestly do a review on the "best" actual 1000cc sport bike bang for your buck out of the box. Your reviews are always honest and straight forward with alot of insight, no brand favorite just honest an honest review would be nice.

about 320miles round trip to another city *14 R1

I went from North Carolina to Colorado and then back on my ratty 2002 R1
@@masonhock6442 how long did that take you? What a ride. I did 800 miles in a day once but let’s just say I’m never doing it again lol
@@kevinsoto7878 It was a two week trip. I spent 7 days on travel and 7 days on vacation-esc stuff. Probably around 500 miles a day. It was pretty tolerable except for the day it rained. I've got a kaoko throttle lock (like the atlas one) so I didn't kill my wrist. The secret is packing light, cause I only had a tank bag and a bagpack.

Question Moto: I know you said that you didnt have a SC project on one of your bike. If Motovation offers an Austin Racing exhaust would you choose Austin Racing over SC?? Cuz I have same R1 as you and im still thinking going Austin Racing or SC project. Just need help.
Go with the GP1R. I have it on my 2020 R1 and it sounds freakin ridiculous! Just be prepared for the long wait time. It took about 9 weeks to come in.
Akrapovic full system. Best performance gains. Others are just sound makers.
Have a SC project CRT with M4 titanium midpipe on 2016 R1. I have a vid if interested.
Listen buddy the screen may be small but as for the actual display it makes the zx10r and gsxr display look like grom displays 😂. Agree it could be bigger but with the same design good vids man
I am selling my 2008 R1 and looking at a 2009 VMAX. Since I don't need a sport bike since I left California and want to carry a passenger and take a 100 mile ride without killing my back that's what I'm looking at.

Yes, you can lose cash that way. Four 20's flew out of my pocket while blasting down the 101 from Goleta to Santa Barbara many years ago. I also lost my passport years before that while riding with it in my back jeans pocket.

I mean both will heat definitely but both are of so premium quality that you should never feel anything like that. Some poll said that R1 just feels sensational and for some reason S1k is disliked by many people. Don't know about that one but definitely go with your heart.
I have a S1KRR HP4 and they are notoriously hot. I wear leathers 99% of the time and it’s barely noticeable…on kevlar jeans you definitely feel it coming up through seat and frame. I live in Texas so even with it hot outside, the bike temp goes to 215+ F, but is perfectly fine and within range. I’ve clocked in 26K miles with absolutely ZERO issues. Cheers!

Would this be a good second bike after a 28cc restricted vespa that has a max speed of 10mph. I can fully open the throttle on it so I think I would be fine.

Always comparing the R1 to the s1000, i test rode loads of bikes before buying my R1, the s1000 wasn’t even the equation, bmw is ridiculously over priced! This has to be compared with the suzuki, kawasaki and aprilia litre sports bikes , great videos, keep up the good work
I use 2019 Galaxy Buds. Absolutely amazing for riding . Can open noise gate and allow for outside sound while still listening and hearing music ( or in my case podcasts ) and function as an amazing ear plugs also. I use galaxy buds pro outside of riding . I dont find those good for under helmet

Depends on what you want… r1 is a better track bike. You will spend r1 money on a s1000 to get it to ride like an r1. Coming from a track coach.

What temperatures do you see on the R1 will sitting in traffic? Mine will get up to 220 - 230. Is that normal?
I have a 2012 r1 and mine gets that bad in traffic. Anything below 35mph on a hot 80 degree day my bike won’t come down below 200

@@nonamechannel5915 you just upshift with out pulling your clutch in it wont damage your bike but if you try downshifting i would also pull clutch in because downshifting without the clutch hurts the bike mostly everyone does no clutch upshifts

It's a quickshifter, allows you to shift without using the clutch

driving an R1 around the city and on straight highways, complaining about not beeing able to flash it and squeeze a few more horsepower out of it is complete nonsense man, sorry. Even if it had 30 horsepower less, it would still me more than enough for extremly fast driving on twisties, and probably more than you or me can handle.
Awesome video. I have a pair of those wired earbuds but one went out but they were still under warranty. Got a new pair now but they sent me a wireless pair as my warranty replacement.
Supersports are 600cc; Superbikes are 1000cc.
