- Bond and Tracy try and escape Irma Bunt and Blofeld’s henchmen in ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE (1969). The ice car race was filmed on a playing field in Switzerland which was flooded with water every night to turn to ice. Unfortunately the weather was so mild it kept defrosting during the day which delayed filming.
I like how she’s protecting him instead
I don't know what's cooler; the fact that it's Tracy, and not Bond who's doing the badass driving, or that Tracy seems to be having fun, especially when they get on the racetrack.
Everything's cool in this scene😂
I love how she protects him and how she is concentrating on saving them both.
"We didn't even stop for the prize."
Maybe next time 007
Dianna Rigg. most beautiful and elegant. God bless her. RIP
Who wouldn't love a girl driving like that and staying cool at the same time..? Marvelous.
Does that exist?? Like the prince charming?mm
Diana Rigg nailed it. Her performance was astounding.
Pity George Lazenby's wasn't. Lack of improvisation by him.
The only good thing in this movie was Diana. Lazenby was the WORST Bond.
Hi there it was his his first acting experience, cut him some slack
Agree with Right but Lazenby is all over the place best way is to pretend Connery Bond.
@@Hithere-ek4qt Daniel Craig is the most ugly the worst james bond. Who ever pick him need there eyes tested bond film have had there days.
Tracy is just the best. Ultimate wifey material!
Yep up there with Vesper.
Ultimate for an international Man of Mystery.
Speaking of which, she was for such a brief time
Was.
Is it true you guys prefer women with those amazing driving skills? Mentioning also that she is the crazy daughter of a very rich man.
I love diana face during race with her tongue out cute as hell
Pure majesty! One of the great tragedies of the Bond series is the loss of Peter Hunt as director. His vision for the following film would have been quite interesting with a continuation of this story, as I understand it. This stock car rally chase is one of the best in the series. I love how the Mercedes struggles to keep up with the Cougar on the snow-covered Swiss roads, with it bouncing off the walls of snow created by plowing, and then spins out at the curve and off the roadway briefly. Neither car would be on my list of vehicles for Winter mountain road use, though I would infer from the surefootedness of the Cougar that Tracy was a highly skilled and superior driver compared to the Spectre goons as she out maneuvers them and "didn't even stop for the prize"..
hell, she WAS the prize, but yeah its interesting how she gets the Cougar to do far better than the Mercedes--and passes the race cars running studded tires while doing it.
Too bad his agent screwed him up on bad advice. He was fantastic especially in his first acting role he only would have gotten better and we could have been spared the Moore era.comedy JB movies. . The movie had everything great music great story great scenery not to mention a mod JB perfect for 1969
Damn, Diana rigg was STUNNNNING here! That fur coat and hat are perfection!!
Bond fell in love with Tracy...and we did too ❤️
One of my favorite car chases in the whole series, John Barry’s score is so great. RIP Dame Diana Rigg, we have all the time in the world. So sad to see you for the last time in Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho.
I might have to say this but Dame Diana Rigg… she is absolutely stunning in this film and she gets the title for stunning more than any other Bond girl if you ask me. She was amazing.
@William Guzman she’d probably still do The Avengers
It’s ironic that there’s a stock car race in a country that banned racing but it’s worth it
What racing, what country even is this..
(I'm sure others wanna know too)
@@fyodorseriencha6538 Watch the movie.
@@Anon24052 2 poor (seems like this is the one best bit of an ass movie anyway)

I never tire of watching OHMSS and Diana Rigg was flat out gorgeous. Certainly atop Bond Girl!
That Mercury Cougar should have been one of the most iconic Bond cars ever alongsidr DB5.
Ha ha ha ha ha - not even close. Ford must have paid for the advertisement.
@@Hithere-ek4qt Ford had an arrangement with the Bond franchise to provide vehicles.
We didn't even stop for the prize.
Diamonds are Forever should have been Lazenby's film.
Why? Lazenby was crap. This is the best story of Ian Flemings novels. He's wooden.
Agreed and it should have been a continuation of the plot in this but with revenge being the sole aim, would have been a perfect fit for the gritty seventies asthetic that other films had rather than the bad attempt at comedy that we got.
@@nigelgreenwood9010 I agree he was bad, it would just have made more sense to me if George Lazenby returned to DAF and have Tracey killed in the opening sequence of the film and end OHMSS with Bond and Tracey driving off.
and Lazenby's gunbarrel in my opinion has been one of the best
*i agree*
Seeing films like this as a kid shaped my ideal of women forever. As an adult I was always searching for one who was both ultra feminine, strong minded, and independent. There are few greater joys for a man than realising your woman is as bad-ass as you are...
Was your mom a bad ass too??
@@nenisguevaragomez8122 Very much so. She could cut down a tree if she wanted to and drove like race car driver, but refused to change a light bulb on principle because she considered it a man's job 😅
Diana was lovely and is missed very much.
This movie did such a perfect job creating a woman you believe James Bond would marry.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service a pearl of the Bond series😍👍
Ha ha ha ha ha - no way, Ray.
Diana was the only good thing in this piece of crap.
@@Hithere-ek4qt Different opinions, different taste.
I agree love this movie
I love the whole sequence of this movie from when Bond escapes from Piz Gloria (partly on one ski) to the marriage proposal in the horse barn.
Diana... What a beauty!
She was amazing! She was behind the wheel, and she was the boss. Feminists today could learn a lot from her. She was very strong and liberated. She created her world. And it was as exciting as it gets.
Having the money of the father it made things a bit easier.
But yes she was amazing because many women even having it all, they don't make the best of it.
Dang! This chase must’ve been INSANE back in ‘69!
Tracey would make an excellent MI6 operative.
That cougar xr7 was a beast..I believe the car was bought and restored some years later and is still in England
You are correct!
*the best bond girl i ever seen in all james bond's films*
No doubt, this is my favorite Bond music.
I loved that Diana was always smiling,
R.I.P., Diana Rigg.

*Queen of Thorns* Olenna Tyrell
Diana Rigg got the Jordan tongue driving.
Tracy channels her inner Emma Peel.
Like I am sure is the same with others, my favourite of the series changes every now and then with Goldfinger being my favourite for years but now this is the one I love the most.
I swear this music was lifted and put into the incredibles movie.
It is Parts Are similar in the incredibles Theme but the Trailer its the exakt Same music
Rest in piece Diana rigg
Squeeling tires on snow covered roads! lol
wonderful and so beautiful in that soft fur coat
George lazenby did a great job in this movie he would have been a good Bond moving forward
Irma Bunt @ 3:33 " NAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!😂😂😂😂 "
I guess that's because she turned into I'ma Burnt in this moment... ;)
George lazenby was a very good james bond On her majest'y secret service is a great film.
@tonymarlowe1302 : Was George Lazenby the James Bond character after Sean Connery but before Roger Moore ????
Diana rigg is a beautiful woman and she was awesome in the bond film
"Turn left here, I want to endanger all these civilians."
Richard Banton He has a license to kill, not to break traffic laws.
mustang law
Always wondered how Irma survived that explosion.
To think she’s not even burned when we see her next.
I mean, she was barely caught in it.
The fact that the stunt double got snagged by the blast might even have been an accident that they decided to keep in.
“Ahhhhhh!” I laugh every time!
My hat is off to the James Bond Franchise, from the first to the most recent film. It has been with me all my life. Good to be here!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Today’s ice rated tires are so much better than 1969 version.
Yeah, I know Bond has driven or been in some really hot cars over the years, but for me, the red Cougar from OHMSS and the Mustang from DAF are the ones I'd want. Oh, and I wouldn't mind Diana Rigg and Jill St. John either.
I don't remember him driving a DAF what film was that in?

I’m watching this in 2022 after seeing that ‘69 Mercury Cougar on display at the Petersen automotive museum in Los Angeles.
Diana Rigg was my favorite actress.
Remember watching this on tv years ago BUT when the bullets start flying and Tracy shouts "James", straight away Bond replies "Keep moving"...was that another version ?
Love her fur coat in this scene ❤
Another fun fact
The shot with the driver in the upside down car was actually shot with the camera upside down not the car......
Rest In Peace, Dame Diana
Diana Rigg 20 July 1938 - 10 September 2020 Goodbye. We don't have all the time in the world.
"I hope my big end will stand up to this!"
So does Bond. On your wedding night. 😆
M. As in Mercury.
@@Engineer10211 that's what I thought she said, since even as a pony car the Cougar is bigger than most cars on the track she's passing.
It’s hilarious that the filmmakers actually thought any of Irma Bunt’s dialogue in this scene was necessary. “Shoot at him!” “Keep straight!” “Knock them out of the way!” As if that’s not what her goons are doing already.
I love all the other racers. They think its totally normal.
The upside down racer, thinking, "Huh, well."

Laugh my ass off! That smash-'em-up derby was hilarious. Irma Bunt was such a villainess, too, barking orders to kill 007!
At a time when women were hardly supposed to be portrayed as the badasses they can be, Dame Diana leads the way leading Bond into and out of a mess, solved as a level-heirarchy couple... brilliant for 1969, absolutely brilliant
Peter Hunt and the famous Bond producers deserve more praise than we can ever give them. Even George at this point must be praised for acknowledging the lead role in this sequence to not be his character's....
Who is the actor who play the young car driver, the one who turned upside down? He's really funny!!!
Probably a stunt guy. Not sure who exactly, though.
And the car exploded, killing 20 spectators.
Not the best Bond performance, but good Bond-girl, music and action shots.
If only Corgi made a model of Tracy’s Cougar, and in the same scale as their other Bond cars.
I like bond movie's
She deserves to be a bond's wife. She looks like the woman 007. haha
For sure, she's great at driving and evading bad guys, she's the perfect companion to James Bond !

Is that a reference to Mary Jane Watson?
Emma Peel , my sweet babe...
Diana Rigg....just amazing!!
They don’t make Women like this Anymore!
No way that Benz was ever going to run down that Mercury!

Wouldn't mind seeing this story being remade for the next/rebooted Bond movie.
One of my Favorite Bond films!!
She was incredibly hot!! And did a great job in the roll!!
*role
At least they depicted a girl able to do some action, not like in most of the movies, where the girls are passive human being waiting to be rescued by 007 (the man).
Down with the Patriarchy right? Don't have a city to burn down with your comrades?
@@John-qx1zi I don't remember saying anything about the patriarchy.
RIP Diana Rigg.
Looking back at this movie is actually great
Mate does he have a Licence
Did Bond change the wheels ? When he hit the racetrack the wheels were different .
Rear wheel drive cars on this surface is not the very best! Could work on film, but not in reality!
saw this cougar at a car show in illinois
Tracy's big M (Mercury) had no problem with their big MB. No helpless, screaming Bond girl there. Even scorched Fraulein Bunt.
This movie literally created huge fantasy of marrying this Beautiful and Gorgeous 💖 Bond girl in my mind. This movie created dreams of marrying her in my mind a lot. This movie shouldn't have been made. I wish I had never watched this movie. These movies in the name of Entertainment, only and only created huge fantasies about Gorgeous 💖 and Beautiful Girls in viewers mind. No one has taken objection on this.

I find that this is an American car being chased by foreign cars in snowy conditions . James Bond did work with the C.I.A.
1969 Mercury Cougar XR7, modified by Carroll Shelby...
Nice.
Yeah, the Cougar and the Mustang from DAF are my favorite Bond cars.
All cars in the race must be 1500cc or below...Oh never mind!
This one is 7,000
I grew up listening to The Propellerhead's remix of the song that plays in the background of this scene. I also grew up watching every single bond film EXCEPT this one so I missed out on a making this cool connection for an extra 30 years or so...
Fun fact....
These two may have been married on screen but they couldn't stand each other in real life....the irony
Its a great movie but man the editing here is really kinda bad, its a real shame cuz there's some cool stunts and nice shots and all but some editor or studio just remixed and cut apart random scenes and re-used audio and video several times. Reminds me of the Extended Edition of Dune, its also completely silent except car noises and a few short dialogue prompts
Rip diana🙏🏼😔
I think Marcus Ericsson just knock out Irma Bunt with Indiana torpedo.
God, I want to marry Diana Rigg 60 years ago! What watching old Bond movies does to you...
Best Bond film, Best Bond girl.
