I bought one in March 2015 and everything you said is correct. It is an amazing machine. It is like being in my trusted A-6 Intruder again with digital displays!
I've been thinking about buying the inspire 1 for 2 months now and I've seen almost every video available for it... Your video pushed me over the top and I've decided to get it! Thank you! Great review
Thanks. Unlike other videos this gives the viewer a much better idea what the Inspire is and what it can do instead of a pure video recording videos and little more.
Excellent video, thank you for the absence of unnecessary humor and silliness . This was a very informative and concise description of the Inspire and it's possibilities !!
On maaa gawd ! I cannot believe how far drones have come on in 3 years. I have had a Parrot Anafi for a week, and stumbling across this video has shocked me. 6 pounds versus 320 grams with 4k and zoom. Crikey .....!
Very good and informative presentation, I have a phantom 3 standard and have to admit that I'm sold on the DJI products, they are great and the video is amazing
I just got my Phantom 4 in the mail! When buying it I did not get an extra battery, should I? I have flown in many times so far and made 1 amazing hockey edit with it. I thought it was a little pricy, until I was actually able to use all the cool new features. I definitely recommend you get one for your drop test videos. My friend has the Inspire 1 and I can't wait to do a comparison between the two. I LOVE MY NEW PHANTOM 4.
Great review guys. Good job on the video. I would just add to those wanting more creative control that you can get an additional controller for the gimbal and of course it does not come with monitors (ie tablets).
I really really love this kind of advance photography and shooting video with drone and this drone really takes it to the whole new level like i fell in love with it , but the price is sooooo expensive 😭😭 i wish that i can have one
Aiman Gilee It is a great quadcopter for photography. The price is a bit high. The best thing is to buy it, use it for a few months and then sell it on ebay later. You won't loose much if you you always handle it with care.
Nice review man, I know they say on the phantom series to not fly around power lines and what not because it can interfere with the transmitter but will this apply to the inspire as well?
Looks like the Ultimate drone, beautiful looking with great technology.I would get one, I cannot afford one new but could possibly get a second hand one of ebay.
As someone who is biased against DJI in general i am glad you guys didn't make this sound like a paid for review. I understand this is meant for a specific type of market where people do not have a understanding of how to build your own UAS but i still cringe when people who have no idea what they are talking about say DJI is the best money can buy and you cant make anything better. For one because DJI software is licenced they cannot have a large community of contributors like APM. They again the people who say DJI is the only logical choice are the same people who buy Macintosh thinking that they deliver top performance even when i show them rendering test's that obliterate any mac user who decided to run it themselves.
Why are you so biased against them, they are top of the line drones for the consumer market, yes they are expensive but so simple and easy that anyone can use them. They are top of the line for a market that wants a drone that just works. Also what is the hate for macs, they also are for a niche that are willing to pay a premium for a product that just works and is simple. Don't hate the product just agree that others may like it.
Dan Healy if you are willing to overspend on a underperforming product go ahead, reason why I hate products that just work is because in my experience those products fail and then there is no way to repair them for instance Mac laptops still use the wet capacitors which fail in about 3-7 years rather than using a solid cap which will be 10-20 years. As for drones dji uses 150$ batteries for a 2 min hit I could but 7 batteries that are "generic"
"no way to repair them" - this may be true for yourself but you can send them into dji for repair and you can repair a phantom yourself as many places sell the parts required and offer the service of repair so it must be possible. In regards to mac and the idea of destined to be outdated, it can be said with all tech as companies wont make money with everyone buying old hardware. In regards to the batteries, its just a way of making money, its not like they hide the fact considering they change the design every update in order to force more people to buy new hardware. In what respect is the phantom an underperforming product, show me the equivalent for the same price?
Great review thanks. You make a comment that you feel the footage from this camera is "better than the gopro". If you are reffering to the Hero4's 4K footage, can you elaborate on why you feel the I1's footage is better?
Looks really nice, only two things that I am concerned about, there is a version with two controls, one for piloting the quadcopter and the other one for photography control. It seems to me that you would need a second FPV for the copter pilot or you risk to crush the drone. The other concern is about the reliability of the drone, I have a phantom 2 and even though I try to fly it in the best conditions possible, there are times when it just comes down and crushes. The landing gear protects somehow the camera and the gimbal but I´ve had to buy a new gimbal already. Do you imagine the inspire coming down with the landng gear up?
Miradoor Comunicación Visual The landing gear for the Inspire 1 will automatically lower when you reach an altitude of 1.5 meters. Flying the I1 with one controller is more than enough. However if you want to ensure you get the best footage, I would highly recommend the second controller. Thanks for your comment!
Joe Grim You can buy the camera and gimble fro B&H Photo. (and I'd guess other places that sell the gear) But this is essentially a replacement if you break one. The gimble and camera are powered from the Inspire 1, so using it without the Inspire one is going to require some custom work. How much, I have no idea.
I'm debating between this and the new 3DR SOLO. Huge price difference, but man the gimbal works well on the DJI. Not to mention this camera looks so cinematic. GoPro just isn't there yet.
Exoticars19 I just purchase the Phantom 3 Pro is cheaper the only difference is the 360 Degree camera which the Phantom 3 Pro does not have but you actually achieve the same effect by rotating drone in that direction but cooler if you don't have to I guess..! but hey for the price the Phantom 3 Pro can actually work as well as this one...
Best review yet, simple and straight forward, trouble is I will never afford one of these...lol ( Hmmm not unless I could start a business using it in some capacity lol)
Great review, thanks for sharing! I'm looking at getting into areal photography in my area and am really leaning towards the DJI Phantom 4. Can you tell me what the advantages (or disadvantages) between this model and the Phantom 4? I like the sleek design of this model, but after reading all the reviews of the latest Phantom models (3 & 4), I'm leaning more towards the Phantom 4. Any input you can share with me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again! You've got a new subscriber!
The inspire can really capture some amazing footage, but to unlock its potential you need to have two operators. With the phantom 4 you get an easy to fly drone with 4k capable camera and with the money saved you can afford to buy at least an extra 3 batteries. The inspire has the advantage of a 360 degree camera but in order to realy use that feature it requires two operators in order to move and use the camera to its full effect.
hi guys, great job!! just a qestion, what if im filming my boat at top speed and i make a mistake with controller? i mean, will the Inspire fall down in the water or it has some functions that made me safe to fly above the see even if i made some mistake? thanks guys
davide calabrese If you do a mistake with the controller, just let go and don't touch any button. The Inspire 1 will just stay still up in the air. In case of emergency, just press 'Return to home' and it will come back to you automatically.
I have a friend who has the inspire one. His has locks to hold the propellers in place. I do not see them on this I-1. Are there two different versions then?
I bought one in March 2015 and everything you said is correct. It is an amazing machine. It is like being in my trusted A-6 Intruder again with digital displays!
Inspire 1 is by far my fave quad for commercial work. Its a beast!

Nice review man, I know they say on the phantom series to not fly around power lines and what not because it can interfere with the transmitter but will this apply to the inspire as well?

This Drone is a beast
good review. thank you
Superb Review, thanks a lot.
Thanks for info...
Thumbs up on this vid. Great job. I'm super happy with my Inspire...this is a great machine.
It looks so amazing! Gosh I wish I had an extra 3k laying around, broke college student problems.
Great review thanks. You make a comment that you feel the footage from this camera is "better than the gopro". If you are reffering to the Hero4's 4K footage, can you elaborate on why you feel the I1's footage is better?

nice vid
can I get your thoughts on the GDU prodrone byrd ?
My dad is a cop and his team uses this drone and my dad opperates it. He says it is amazing. I have seen it in my house but never on action.
I like that the 4k camera doesn't have a fisheye FOV. Better than Gopro. I would buy the camera alone if it were available.
Joe Grim It is actually.
alanw516 any links to buy it?
Joe Grim go to www.Dji.com and you can find it there

I have a lot of possible gigs filming indoors; room-to-room footage for real estate. Would you recommend the Inspire 1 for that? Or is it too big?
+Wyatt Guzman Better off with a handheld rig/gimbal setup

Look amazing i will one soon 😎👍💪💪💪
I have a friend who has the inspire one. His has locks to hold the propellers in place. I do not see them on this I-1. Are there two different versions then?
Hell yeah that shit is worth that price it works excellent better than all the other ones also
Excellent review!! Now where did I put that spare $3,500 (with this puppy you need a case, some batteries, etc.)
