@bluedevil0704 That's true since children's liquid medicine's can have a gross taste where a parent could say to their child, "taste bad, health good."
Yeah, one of my favorites as well. A son in need of a father and a father in need of a son. Daniel-san and Mr. Miyagi were destined to meet and learn important lessons from eachother. Now that I think of it, I kinda identify with Daniel-san. My own father and I were distant years ago.
I love the way Mr.Miyagi lived his life all privately, peacefully, and drama free like a bachelor until Daniel came into his life lol 😂.But Daniel really gave Miyagi something to live for during his last few years and their relationship was very special.
It’s amazing how well the 2nd half of this movie holds up. How Danielsan and Miyagis relationship still feels as fresh and amazing like it’s the first time I’m watching it, but it’s like the 100th time. Also how it stays witty and sharp at 2 hours and 6 and never loses heart. One of the best sports movies ever made and one of the best Father’s Day movies!
“Where did Spider-Man go”? Classic underrated line. Mr. Myagi chill response with a grin is perfect. Back To The Future and Karate Kid are arguably two of the best movies all-time. Trilogies at that.
It's unbelievable that this entire scene was done all in one shot. People talk about this movie like it's just a teenage popcorn flick, but I honestly believe that the filmmaking here is better than in the Godfather.
Adilson's direction was definitely awesome. Long takes were something he obviously loved when it came to the moments of pause, Reflection, and wisdom. Notice the juxtaposition of those takes compared to those of Cobra Kai and even Daniel with his gal (Liz Shue, I think).
It is revealed in Karate Kid 4, that Miyagi's first student was Julie's grandfather during and after WWII. Her grandfather taught her father Miyagi Do, then he began teaching her until his tragic death when she was a little girl.
The amount of lessons that Miyagi teach to Daniel only in this clip are amazing dude "Smells bad, heals good" "If you look revenge, you start by digging two graves" "Fighting all is last answer to problem" "Karate is for defense only" "Not such a thing as bad students, only bad teachers" "Karate is here (pointing his head) Karate here (pointing his heart) Karate never here (pointing his legs)" KK1 it's a timeless classic ❤❤❤
