0:55 getting dog tags from a former solider means that have respect for you and you trust them with their life, that's a huge honour

What's even more interesting here is that Mr. Miyagi knew exactly which car Daniel would choose. He took a mental note when Daniel was eyeing it before Miyagi had him wash and wax the entire lot.
The character development in Cobra Kai brings me back here. Crazy how when we were younger we all thought Mr Miyagi was just perfect. Now in Cobra Kai season 6 we learn that he killed his opponent (whether it was an accident or not is left in the air, hopefully we find out in part 3). It makes a lot of sense why he teaches all these life lessons and hates fighting. The show made an already amazing character even better even after he's dead. He made mistakes, just like everyone else which made him a better man.
@@mightguy3118I understand what their trying to do, but to me, it just feels wrong for Mr. Miyagi’s character to do that. I understand what you're saying tho.
For those of you 90s and 00s kids, 80s kid here- I hope you understand the meaning of this movie and I think you do. I was a latch key kid, look it up, and my parental grandfather had long since left my family as he divorced my grandmother. Mom and dad- they worked all the time (I’m sure you are used to that too) well along comes “papa and mama B” my day care folks who became grandma and grandpa. Papa would tell me stories about his time as a world war 2 bomber and cargo pilot in the pacific. They were the coolest stories ever; tales of bravery and horror- but always told in a way a young child could process. He never cried, he never showed fear- they were stories to entertain and if I listened carefully learn from. Come to find out when I grew older, papa and mama B lost their son. He had died as a teenager in some freak football accident (heat stroke leading to a rare seizure). When I played football, they were there- as when I graduated from high school- the very school their son (name was Don) died. They both passed not too long ago, and I miss them everyday. What is left behind is the stories papa would tell me (mama B would make fun of him that he told those stories over and over, imagine how many times she heard it). Those two people, I love my parents too, but without them I would not have become the man I am. That was the power of people like Myagi- people who understand that blood is not the only thing that makes family.

Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
The title please...

When I was a kid, my cousins and I were telling Daniel to take the black car. Now that I’m older, I love the yellow one.
I always found the Yellow car the coolest looking car
2:09 gets me everytime. this is my favorite part of the movie. Miyagi was the best.
A gift generates joy if garnished with a generous serving of genuine gratitude.

2:05 always has me coming back to this scene.

Goes to show that a "perfect character" is not the one without flaws, but the one that has learned from them and become a better person.
Perfect example of why boys need men to show them character.
One of the most interesting friendships in cinema history still feels fresh especially first time watchers!
Still feels fresh the 100th time!
Really good memories…
so inspiring 🥲
Mr. Miyagi was such a decent, sweet man, he let daniel take whatever car he wanted.
We all need and would be blessed to have a "Mr. Miyagi" in our lives. RIP Pat Morita. A gentleman and a scholar.
movie from childhood, so good!
Good memories about this film ☺️
Love this scene - soo much love!
I like this film!
From 2:36 'banzai' is the phrase used, not 'bonsai'. 'Banzai' is an exclamation of triumph and a bonsai... is a tree.
He did teach him important life lessons.
good memories ty man😢
Классный фильм, смотрел в детстве с удовольствием
Раз 100 смотрела, один из любимых фильмов.
It's hard to believe this is the same man who committed robbery and assult
That pissed me off so badly you want me to believe they soiling his legacy like that
@@KingSF415It show's at the end of the day he's human who's made mistakes in his life. He's not god and he died as a good man.

He did all that good in these movies, doesn't there have to be a "balance" lol @@mightguy3118
Well, look at Chozen back then, look at Chozen now. He's nowhere near the same person. Maybe Mr. Miyagi was like Chozen when he was younger.
Mr Miyagi: Balance in life "Lesson for whole life"
