Honestly, my favourite part about the bans is watching the bot hosters play the victim when their main account is banned and they lose all their stuff

So for them that's like their entire experience about the game. So I wouldn't be surprised if no bots makes them feel like something's not right.

This bot ban wave is great! Love it.
But for it to be actually effective they need to be doing one every single month indefinitely. Hell, every 2 weeks. I'm not even kidding.
That would be the so called "treadmill work" valve is so lazy about doing. But it has to be done.
We can't stop asking valve to actually fix the game until the game is clean for AT LEAST a year or more. 2 weeks without bots will be completely unacceptable still.
nah, all they need to do is update the vac database so it recognises botting programs and vac would do the rest.

If you go to Hong Kong server or Asia Server, bots are still exists there. Chinese bot hosters are very hard to banned.

Before I could only like TF2 for everything outside of the game, the media and whatnot. but now I can actually like the game too.
Playercount went unchanged, population is still 85%+ Bots.

Bots are falling back temporarily, they'll eventually find new way to evade the bans, I'm already pessimistic about TF2 state but at least valve done something about this.

My hope is that on the back end, finding and squashing these bot accounts is like a fun, satisfying game. So much so, and so enjoyable, that Valve uses it as an employee award and rotates people through doing it at every possible moment for the next several years.

Good change is always temporary... but I'll enjoy as much casual as I can until the bots inevitably return. Unless Valve will commit to regularly (at least quarterly, preferably monthly) doing bot ban waves. The only thing that will dissuade those hosting bots will be regular, frequent ban waves. I was able to play a few games tonight in separate lobbies that were completely bot free and enjoyable. I honestly have no problem always playing on community servers like Uncletopia, but it can get a little *too* sweaty at times, so sometimes I yearn for that goofy casual experience over the sweat fest, so its nice to have it available. Casual is so much more accessible to new players, and I think the game has probably suffered in new player retention through the bot crisis, so hopefully this will get new players for the meantime to stay longer, bring some new life into the game and give people time to spread to community servers.

i love how they fixed bots, but for some reason they felt like a part of casual.
not like i miss them, i really hate bots, but it just kinda feels strange to be able to join casual without bots ruining my experience.
Question. What is even the point of botting in tf2. I get it in mmos for resources to sell but why in tf2 you still have to buy keys.
and Valve still refuse to communicate with their customers. I am pretty tired of this silence.

This really is amazing, though we must not stop the fix tf2 movement until we get a permanent solution. Also I’m sad that I can’t experience these fresh botless servers because my matchmaking has been screwed for ages ever since I installed a custom toonhud and now I am forced to stick to community servers, and the internet had not helped me at all. If any of y’all could help that’d be amazing, but otherwise here’s to fix tf2 actually doing something!

I’m still boycotting the summer update and you all should still too. Valve did this before with the last movement, but didn’t follow up on it at all. They have made it clear that they don’t care and are going to try and get away with doing as little work as possible for them not to have bad press or lose profits. This can’t follow the pattern of protest, short term fix, then ignore again and make money, then repeat till the community looses stamina and just gives up. Until valve shows they are willing to make a long term commitment to maintaining the bare minimum of what is required of them, then they do not deserve a cent of our money or respect.
But at the very least this is a good direction.

To be honest, the only thing that could possibly fix the bot crisis is valve porting this game to the next iteration of the source engine which is still closed code. The bots and cheats like lmaobox in tf2 become possible because there was apparently a huge tf2s source code leak in the past

When I played on Saxton hale before, I seen a few bots they play music but not kick you, you crash instead. It happen a lot when I rejoined but after a few days the bots were gone this was few months ago though, glad they got rid of some bots, Loved the reaction of bot hosters crying about it!
