Good evening, Team fortress 2 is a game made by Valve in 2007. It has 9 classes with each having their own gimmick. One of these classes is Heavy, and he has a subclass named Fat Scout which is just a worse scout. Many of you might not know this, but one of his weapons might actually be secretly overpowered.

Fat scout isn't bad. He may be slow and he may not be agile, but shotguns pack and massive punch and if you have the kgb, crit shotguns are even better. Fat scout is still a gimmick, but its a powerful one

honestly, I prefer the iron fists with the panic attack as the switch speed bonus and debuff cancel each other out, so I can walk at people with the resistances, bait them into going in for the double melee damage, and shotgun them with 105 damage. it's a good combo, because people want to get close to you
You can also switch to your mini gun first and then the shotgun because the penty of switch speed will only apply to the minigun.

Very underrated heavy combo. If they don't go for melee when you have the fists of steel out, you can usually get a free hit before using the panic attack
@@jes_crib9541 exactly.. and the panic attack can out perform some primaries in close range, along side heavy's insane health, and you get a surprisingly viable combo
I'm going insane, I can't not hear the Scout whenever Brick talks. It literally feels like Scout is talking to me.
Spoiler alert: Brick is the only person in the world who can double jump.
I really think they should let heavy take two secondaries if he wants. It would probably be a little weaker than normal heavy but getting to have a shotty and a lunchbox item or two shotties would be fun as hell.

I am kind of terrified of shotgun Heavies. They always tend to be extremely skillful in every pub, I just avoid any upfront confrontation on any class.

The thing about the shotguns is they're all good. They all do decent damage.
But compared to the minigun? God they fucking suck.
And don't forget you're giving up the sandwich for the shotguns, not a good tradeoff
It feels like using a "pump-action minigun".
If the family business was on any other class, i think it would be used very often, but no one wants to give up their lunchbox items
I am of the firm opinion that you can't justify it being Heavy only.
It's a set item? So was the Reserve Shooter. And now that the minicrits aren't on airblasted players, there's even less justification.
Plus with a name like The FAMILY Business, you'd think more characters would have it.
It's not like All-class shotguns aren't a thing, either. Every Shotgun user has access to the Panic Attack. Even Engineer, who only has access to the stock and his unique shotguns otherwise.

Tbh I've always liked it on an attack heavy. It helps to be a little more mobile and deal consistent damage. People really don't realize how handy it is to have a shotgun as heavy.
Only issue is when I want to make a load out that utilizes all three slots. Like Natasha, Family Business, Eviction Notice. (Essiantly heavy becomes faster than you the load out).
I don't remember from where I heard the idea, but since the food items for heavy has become such a big part of his kit if you want to be more useful, considering heavy is like the only other class apart from Medic and Engi who has reliable healing. The idea was that heavy either should be able to equip the shotguns in his primary slot so that he can still have food, or to give him a 4th item slot spesifically for food items. I think that is a really cool and nice QOF change for heavy

it kinda sucks that the eviction notice got the GRU nerf since it means the original set isn't even dumb fun to use anymore since you're basically at pyro health when you get to the front lines
Honestly,Shotgun(s) on Heavy are good in general,it's just the fact that it and lunchbox items share the same slot

what you said around 0:59 is funny because the heavy weapons guy from team fortress 2 most certainly does not have another weapon that can do just that

Fat Scout is genuinely incredible. No meme or joke about it. It's legitimately awesome.
Here's hoping the Family Business becomes a multi-class shotgun as well one of these times.

Before watching this video I genuinely didn't see fat scout as a viable subclass.
I still believe in most of these situations you would still be owning if you used a minigun, especially because in most of the situations you are in close range.
I guess theres also the faster movement speed while attacking though, but as for the subclass, the minigun is very disappointing as it just exists.
Valve should add a primary that gives Fat Scout some sort of passive upside, or just make the shotgun a primary, so you can have banana, sandwich or steak.
Imagine Family Business + Steak + Fists of Steel, fat scout would be a real thing.

I wish the Family Business could be used by other classes. Like on soldier, Pyro, or Engie

Ah yes, Concretiest Concrete. My favorite Heavy main on UA-cam.
At this point, the Family Business has become my go-to secondary on Heavy, even over the lunchbox weapons. I personally find the Family Business great for dealing with Demoman players, which I find to be a pretty big counter for Heavy.
As a Heavy player who uses the Family Business, this is mostly the only shotgun that I use when playing as the Fat Scout.
Harvest is such a good map to test every kind of weapon on. It sucks it's now filled with bots!
I think people just assume the family business is bad just because it's a Heavy secondary. It's Heavy's only unique shotgun, and it really is not that bad. Nobody uses only because it's not the sandvich.

Disable the minigun but remove the damage penalty and that just might be good trade off. The minigun slot would be a box of magnum shotgun shells that you select to buff the damage and use it as a primary.

They should make it a primary so you can use the sandvich with it
This is how playing heavy SHOULD feel. You should be this high hp unstoppable force. It should take effort to bring you down
I believe the shotguns heavy has should be in their own slot so he can also use the lunch box items. Also, if this was available as an option for the heavy you should have a weapon that gives him the option and in doing so removes his ability to have a minigun like how the booties do remove the Grenade Launcher from Demo Man. big Joey has suggested a similar idea to this so yeah you and him brick have a similar idea for fat Scout and I would love to see an implemented someday because that would be a great idea.
As someone who, depending on the scenario, will go Shotgun with Minigun...I've mostly been using the Panic Attack.
Might switch that up and see how I do with the Mafia Loadout (except the melee is KGB).
I wish engineer can use Family business, it would be a nice sidegrade to shotgun/panic attack

It's a sad day to be a flaming medic
Increase the amount of shots, lessen the damage penalty, and give it some passive utility like doing bonus damage when the enemy is overhealed and you could very easily make this an interesting primary weapon for Heavy.
Making it a much better burst fire weapon would totally make it a decent but still probably inferior alternative to the Miniguns which would be an insanely fun playstyle.
Something I want to throw out there, this would be a great weapon to pair with the Heater.
Use this as your primary, switch to the Heater when you need too, or want to Spy check.

My solution to the heavy problem, allow him to have sandvich in primary slot and secondary slot but not at the same time
If the lunchbox items could take the primary slot I wouldn't have any issues with fat scout but since they don't I'll stick with my minigun.
Heavy needs the AA-12 for heavy update
Whenever I play this weapon I make my heavy cosplay as Bill from L4D it just feel like gunning and running like the other game
The Family Business is the reason I don't run Sandvich Heavy. It's one of my favorite shotguns in a video game.
Not sure if I agree with it being busted. What I do agree it's good for is comboing with kgb.
Think about it, you get crits with melee kill and it mitigates dmg downside, you really don't need that much more dmg. But with extra fire rate and ESPECIALLY two extra shells in clip, you have more opportunity to utilise the most out of your kgb crits.
So that's why I use crit gloves with family business 😅
The only problem with the consistent but lower damage weapon is that it's sitting in the shadow of the minigun. If it was on any other class it would be the go-to secondary

Honestly I wish the heavy had a shotgun on primary, the only reason people don’t use shotguns on heavy is because you need to pick between healing & more damage (when the heavy has a mini gun)
If you had to pick between a shotgun and minigun: you have a much more equal trade, meaningful trade offs with different benefits, while both get to have a healing item.

I like using the killing boxing gloves with this shotgun for big loads of damage. I like it way more than using the Fists of Steel.

I don’t understand why anyone would prefer stock. It takes 2 shells to kill a light class at point-blank range either way, but you get a faster firing speed with the family business. Even at mid-long range range, the extra 2 shells more than make up for the slightly less damage.
The only class you can effectively one shot with stock that you can’t using the family business is a kunai spy

I think Fat Scout just needs lunchbox items. Making lunchbox items equippable in the primary slot would be all Fat Scout needs, imo.

most classes with shotguns have other non shotgun alternatives which are more widely used, maybe itd be the best shotgun but idk

I can think of an idea about the shotgun stats for Heavy:
+ 20% Damage bonus
+ On kill gains speed (5 kill max)
- 30 HP on wearer
- 15% Less accurate
- Only has 5 clip size
Seems pretty balance to me
