This is me playing an udu drum along with Egypte, from Cirque Du Soleil's Mystere. It is a home video, so the camera's microphone does not pick up all of the tones coming from the udu drum.
Now I see them too. Cannot unsee. Cannot unsee.
Shhhhyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaahhhh Now thats what i call an Udu performance :) I give that two thumbs up
@LOVE2Flute Thanks JP! That was beautiful!
I may buy one more like this down the road. I brought mine back the day after I bought it. peace, Tim
Wow this is awesome!
Magnifique "UDU" très beau morceau ! j'aime beaucoup !
great playing man !! keep the good work , would love to see more videos
Congratulations, you have just stepped outside the sphere of western music. Keep exploring.
Love it! Thank you for sharing this.
peace,
Tim
If you make any more vids of this, be sure not to have the music louder than your playing - I want to hear your skill. :)
I really enjoyed your performance. Thanks for sharing this.
Wonderful
This is very cool. Probably pretty relaxing
Udu is an igbo name for the traditional drum. its african and sound really nice especially when played with other traditional instruments. He plays it well too
amazing really!!!!
I just found out about them and wanted to hear one in action, which is how I found this.
It's originally an African clay pot with a hole in the side. This one appears to have a high and low pitched one, arranged in an interesting fashion.
THIS IS MY CIVICS TEACHER
very nice
I felt that way for a number of years but I still love rock and roll, folk, heavy metal, pop. About the only thing I despise is "death metal" and "new country". Blech. But World music captivates me, especially the drums. Don't turn your back completely on western music. There's still lots to love.
this udu is the Udongo II from Latin Percussion, yeah? nice comping, man.
Perfect
This may be a dumb question but where did you buy this Udu? i am really interested in getting one.
Well done your music is great!!! Please can you tell me the name of the original song(music)
@barrundo Hi, i'm not sure witch drum he is using, but LP make very good percussion, and they sell udu drums, there website is lpmusic(DOT)com/Product_Showcase , I hope that helps
Very Nice
Well it looks like I'm in crazy instrument territory. Not bad youtube, not bad.

Oh, I guess ya tole ME... I feel suitably chastened, now.
If you like the Udu sound, please thank Frank Giorgini - the creator and inventor. He will make you a customized one contact at udu.com --Enjoy--
Ocean Force Point Temple, anyone?
pots and pans
Fair enough.. I Will admit I was being a smartass...
but not in a mean way..it was just, you asked
"What the hell is an Udu drum"? So it seemed natural
to reply, "umm.. there it is, right on the vid... a Demo of the
udu...so that answers yer question, right"? No offense .. just me
being a wiseass.... I actually have a udu drum- they are really
fun to play- and there are a LOT of variations. But all are pretty
much fired clay vessels- and supposedly go back to Africa
in their origins.
you
I think you are getting a good performance. And yes, the sound quality isn't excellent indeed.
reminds me of age of empires lol
After exploring these sort of instruments western music never interested me anymore.

Not gonna be patronizing here: Couldn't hear you over the dumb music.
