I’m 57. These guys represented my childhood along with other iconic bands of the time, but nothing really compares. It’s 2024 and I just finished a spectacular weekends with friends and we all came to the consensus that they’re the best band to see in concert - nothing compares to the energy and sound that AC/DC unloads.

I’m the same age as you, turned 57 3 weeks ago, grew up on AC/DC, Cheap Trick, DLR-era Van Halen, Ramones, and late 70’s and early 80’s Punk/New Wave… and I saw all those bands live, multiple times. We lived for that stuff. The music was everything, and though I hardly ever still go out to shows, I still listen to those bands constantly and I’ve raised my kids on ‘em. That said, I don’t know if I’d say that AC/DC were the best live band. They were great for sure, but the first 3 times I saw Van Halen (first time was in the fall of ‘79), they couldn’t be touched live. They just blew everyone else away in those days.

Bon Scott's unique vocals were perfect for hard rock, and one can only wonder what could have been. With his loss Malcolm, Angus, and the rest hit the jackpot when they recruited Johnson. Brian Johnson was as close to the original frontman as was possible and with him they were still AC/DC and nothing needed changed. The Back in Black comeback definitely separated the men from the boys when it came to rock bands. Most bands would have faded away after such a shattering loss, but not AC/DC. they grew bigger and better in the world of rock. What a legendary group.

Thank you Scotland, via Australia for the precious metal gift with an inescapable sound of Bon Scott and his mates, the Young brothers, Rudd and Williams. I've heard ACDC being called a 4 cord band lacking creativity, never stretching boundaries, simpletons. Which brings me to Leonardo Da Vinci's quote "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication"
ACDC is undeniably brilliant with their signature sound and will always take me back to an era of crushing Metal Rock. Thanks for the memories!

This was the amazing top of the first phase of AC/DC. I was there at this time. It was a world hit and was played within the normal pop hits in every radio station 1979.
By the way: It is one of the perfectest mixed and composed songs of AC/DC. One of the perfectest riffs, guitar solo and melody.

My grandfather was a huge rock fan and I grew up on pop music. My mom showed me the 80s but my grandfather had a collection from 40s to 90s. When I was a little kid my grandfather and i decided to watch School of Rock. He wasn't a big fan of my movies but when we saw that movie he busted out with his vinyls and really put me on ACDC. His collection is huge and if you ask him who his fav band was he'd flat out say "The Rolling Stones"
My grandfather had the dirty deeds and those about to rock albums and I fell in love. My email revolved around ACDC and I admired Angus Young more than any other guitar player. Still do i suppose.
My grandfather died on April 24th of this year and he went to his final resting place on May 17th. Coincidentally both the day he was supposed to be cleared and also the day this band went on tour. I am so grateful my pops showed me this band and I'm happy this is what i remember him THE MOST for, IN MUSIC. Rest in peace Captain Salgado❤ you really were a LIVE WIRE

24 year old. Yet I grew up on classic rock, AC/DC was the one band that captivated me. I remember my dad burning cds of just all AC/DC songs for me. I’ll play them nonstop, it was to the point I dressed like Angus Young to school, wearing ties and the British school uniform even tho my school didn’t require a uniform, haha. Surprisingly no kids teased me, and I had a lot of friends. I even had a teacher who got me all AC/DC’s live concerts on dvd my obsession died down as I got a little older but my love and appreciation for them never left. my all time favorite band.
