Is anything available in the Ubiquiti store? They should rename it the "out of stock" store.
I wish they had an ‘In Stock’ checkbox you could toggle.
My IT supplier (UK) apparently has 43M in Ubiquiti back orders. I suspect they have been hit hard by the chip shortage.
They should at least add an estimated date for things to be back in stock. I don’t recommend anyone going with ubiquity.
I love my G3 Instant. I should have got 3 more when I had the chance as It’s been over 6 months since I have seen the Flex or G3 instant in stock. I would rather they work on current stock then trying to make new stuff that is basically vaporware at this point. I did notice no shortage on EBay which has turned into the UI blackmarket. I’m not ready to pay triple the MSRP yet.
It's been in stock many times since then. For 10-20 minutes at a time.

Cool to see new releases but they can’t even keep up with their current selections.
A guy on the Ubiquiti discord saved the initial video which mentioned smart detections and then compared it to the reposted video which didn't. It looked like the only change was removing mention to smart detect.
The folks on the Ubiquiti discord who had received their G4 Instants had advised it doesn't support Smart Detections.

where is the nvr for this camera ? because I cant to see any SD card slot on this camera
IPX5 means "Can resist a sustained, low-pressure water jet spray", which is better than just withstanding splashes (IPX4). Basically, you should be able to turn your hose on this camera and have it be fine, although it won't stand up to your pressure washer or being submerged. Basically IPX5 is what we look for in outdoor cameras, it should be able to handle pretty much any rain no problem
Maybe if and when I decide to put a HD in my UDM Pro these cameras will be available for purchase. As it is, I like how quiet it is.

I have already 3 "UniFi Protect G3 Instant" cameras, they are out of stock if you login with an already used email adres.
What I did was just login with all the email adresses I have, I used the same shipping adress al the time, so they don't check that.
The first arrived end of October and today the 3th arrived
Why is Unifi Protect hardware always sold out? I have a new home I'd like to put their cameras on. UGH!!!!

Coming soon, meaning they have no freaking idea. There is only one camera available on the u-store and it cost $1800. Besides it is overpriced for the features being delivered. Don't expect it anytime soon!
I signed up for notifications and was able to get a G3 instant August 31st. I would like to get a 2nd one.
There are so many applications where power isn’t available or much too costly to add. If using in my home, wifey would require power line hidden in wall and ugly power cube would be visible below if not hidden by furniture. I prefer battery power, but surely this new camera has a market.
Eh. Interesting, I suppose, but I don't need one outdoors. That means it's mostly about the extra resolution and perhaps better electronics? (TBD I guess, smart features and such)
For $29 the G3 is hard to beat. I need to remember to try to pick up a couple more of those, because at that price I can easily think of use cases. For $100, though, I think I'd rather look hard hardwiring and saving a few bucks on a G3 Flex or paying a little more for the G3 bullet.
They should have done a PoE version of this camera as well...
I don't get it, what's ubiquity main product and its focus?
everything on their site is mostly sold out. I've been waiting for months to replace a g3 bullet and almost every camera is sold out and I have notifications turned on for when they come back in stock. not holding my breath for anything new based on the lack of any inventory on pretty much every model except the most expensive ones...

lots of complaints about MIC being really weak... deal breaker for me
Grrrrrr!!!!! and we still don't even have the G3 Instant in Australia ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! so damn annoying having all this new gear coming out but never see it in Australia so damn frustrating... UBNT need to open up the store to Australia as well!!!!!!!

SAD that Unifi store is always all SOLD OUT.
Ubiquiti already burnt their bridge with me when I was sold eight G3 bullets. All lemons with water damage. Half had IR shutter issues. I'll never touch another Ubiquiti camera product again.
Yeah chip shortages are bad… G4 Bullet has been MIA from their store, had to get it mine from eBay and pay 30% more

My G4 instant does person and car detection...
does anyone know if's possible to hardwire the G3 or G4 instant cameras? I know they use USB but is there an adapter where you can plug it into ethernet. I can see they sell the INS-3AF-USB but that only seems to deliver power and not data connection.
But I'm thinking of the way that google has an adapter for their Chromecast where you can connect it to ethernet.
Who puts a camera in their dog house? I think the better question is who wires their dog house for power?

IP X5? Wow... That's a word! But it would be nice to have the choice between WiFi or PoE, not just WiFi. Done for me.

@@ethanlethers2329 Unfortunately thats purely power and not connectivity. I personally would say for outside cameras you want to use a wired connection otherwise it would be very easy for someone to kick the cameras off the wifi network at which point you have no cameras...
Who puts a camera in a doghouse? Someone who hides their drugs and cash in a box under the floor of the doghouse, and wants to see if anyone tries to break in ;)

The g3 instant has been in stock for long time in the Eu store, I got 5 for my home and at this price (29) is difficult to beat. I would like to have face recognition in the G4, not smart recognition, to be alerted only when some not authorised people is in the house. Or an easy way to use geofencing in protect app.
How’s you manage to buy 5 G3 Instants in total?!? Multiple accounts?
@@doalwa Actually there’s no need. If you insert the number you like instead of using the +- buttons, it allows you to order more than one.
