This product would be next level if you could have multiple views from one camera displaying on the viewport. We need a live view showing on a TV 24/7 for our use case(retail store), if I could set up 4 separate views looking in different directions from one camera, I could potentially replace 4 bullet cameras with 1 360 camera
Axis 360s can do it, dont see why UBNT couldn't do it as well.
It has a RTSP streaming link you can activate. It's not the warm & fuzzy "unifi" integration, but could you pipe the warped feed to a workstation with a hefty GPU or two to dewarp it into the views you want?
Hikvision and Dahua 360 cameras can also do that. But they have a much Higher Price and night Vision doesn't seem to be as good AS shown here🤔

So happy to see this!! Not sure if UBNT read my suggestion, but I submitted one to them over a year ago for this exact camera. Cisco Meraki has a 360 DPTZ camera which I thought was cool, but the price and licensing is definitely more enterprise level. It's always good to see a similar solution in the prosumer space.

I’m wondering about the effectiveness of home placement under second story eaves. That way you’d have 270 coverage. Anyone know how good the image is one or two hundred feet out?

If you had a very square house you could cover every door, window, and the perimeter with 2 cameras. In my new home I think 1 interior camera could cover most common areas and be all that's needed.
the resolution is too low for a 360 FOV. Zooming in to see details will cause the footage to pixelate too much. FOr useability, these need to be at least 8K resolution.

Nice! What about wall mounting? Does that affect weather resistance? Of course some sky would be captured... but also 180 horizon.
You can mount it flat against the wall. You can mount it over head. Makes no difference. As the unit is totally sealed tight.....
This camera would be great for a garage or car shop so you can check all the cars and the techs doing work in the services alley! Good to see your Tesla back on the Channel Chris! Cheers 🥃

I bought one to evaluate for client installs. I'm slightly underwhelmed with the image quality and the functionality. The Protect apps need to catch up to the Web UI as well. That being said, if I run into a use case for this, I'll probably recommend them.
That makes no sense the quality of the image cant be judged when you watching it thru youtube. You then state functionality what function wasnt covered? Its meant to see 360 you can move it like a ptz and zoom in on stuff which he didnt show.
It amazes how some judge find fault in everything and complain. Makes on wonder how you make it thru life like that. What else would you like a camera to? Roll out the red carpet for you when it sees you i mean it can be accomplished

this will be a great camera for the front corner of my house. catch the 270 degree view of the driveway over to the front door with one camera.
question on the G4 Bullet Pro or G4 non-Pro I see them outside are they uncovered? I want to put one outside, but it will not be covered I hope it can handle midwest rain and snow - won't be zooming or anything just an overview.

I just wish there was a white option so I could use it in my house and keep the WAF in check. It would work perfectly in my open concept "great room" to catch all the entrances.

Good video about the camera, has my interest and look forward to the release. This could potentially replace 2 - 3 cameras if placed at the corner of a building.
It would be good to see how this camera works under eaves outdoors. Is the IR function ok when in freezing or wet conditions, does it impede video clarity? A test in a chiller room perhaps :)
Probably not a big deal, but what are all the installation anti-theft features?

That's a pretty cool camera. It would be perfect to deploy in our office when we do our security system upgrades this year!
you can set up multiple different views in live view now. also when viewing in the protect app on a phone there is no dewarp option WHICH MAKES it unusable there sadly
i see that type camera 3 years ago and install it the only limitation on my Nvr i get 1 dewarping mode the brand dahua camera i got lot features on fish eye view it can display six side of area

I'm building a house and I'm wondering if this camera is good for the front covered porch or the kitchen/living room. Is the fish eye view something you consider to use to those two house locations or it's better to use another type of camera?
If install under the rood overhang, will the viewing angle of this camera cover the 3 car garage drive way and part of side walk in normal US house?

The unwarped view is great for a garage.
I picked mine up when it was first released in EA. I installed in my garage it works great covers it entirely . garage is 55Ft x 30ft with 9 ft ceilings. only thing is I wish you could do a panoramic view. I was looking at using 2 or 3 dome cameras but only needed 1 360
any update on the viewport issue? its really annoying looking at everthing from top down on the viewport

I had the same smart detection issue after I tried to modify the zone using the iOS protect app. I went to the web view and made a small change and it started working again

I would consider using this at my frontdoor as the FOV makes it much better than G4 Dome or Pro. However the video quality could be a concern and especially the IR range when being used at a large courtyard.
Ir range lol your one of those folks you depends on camera ir when the reality is no camera out there has great ir range hence why you add a ir emitter if its that dark
@@ttss5726 Well, there are no products over here that fits all the nice IR flood lights that you people have in the US. If I tried to import one, it will be denied in customs due to electricity regulations as its not CE marked.
I would like to be able to add the same camera into one view port and have it on a timer to swap between dewarps.
What's the night vision like compared to the G4? Equal fogging?
Hey Chris, live your videos. It would be interesting to know what your ceiling height is - would be very useful information. As well how are the two way speaker - any improvements ?
Planning on putting one on my front patio above the G4 Doorbell. The non warped view would be ideal, and the ability of the PTZ would allow viewing the door itself. This has a 5mp sensor but it seems you only had an option for 1080p. on the G4 bullets that was caused by setting it to high frame rate mode, is that the case here?
Can you drop the same camera into 2 frames in live view and "de-warp" each differently to effectively get two separate views out of the 1 camera?

Hi. Thanks for the review. First time watcher and Subscribed because I like your straight to the point, clear and informative review style. Questions: What is UniFi Protect? On AI 360 Camera, if my intent is to monitor my front door, is it better to mount the camera on the ceiling or on the wall just next to the door? I would like to see video on the AI 360 Camera mounted on the wall, just next to a door. That way you can see the persons face from the front versus from the top down. Which would be better? Thank you.
UniFi Protect is the NVR software (the server with the hard drives that stores the video surveillance footage). If you're looking to get something to keep an eye on your front door, the AI 360 probably isn't your best bet - you'd want something more like the G4 Doorbell / Doorbell Pro or if you're just looking for a camera, the G4 Dome or Bullet would be ideal.

I have been considering getting one of these to put on the corner of a 2 story garage to capture the full 270 degree view down the two sides. Not sure how useful it would be at that distance though.

Can you use the mouse scroll to zoom in? Other Fisheye brands I use in commercial security have that ability. Also the NVRs are able to set multiple views from the dewarping. So hopefully UI will work that out to stay competitive.
You didnt show the zoom in feature!!!!! This would be good to cover say outside areas where youd need 4 cameras to see the same thing

It's called the UniFi view port. It allows you to view your UniFi security cameras via a TV.

This camera is certainly a unobtrusive alternative to traditional chubby PTZ dome cams.
