Beautiful ST! Super simply and clean! I have an ST2 myself with full bolt ons and an e30 tune, its not the fastest thing in the world but its enough to have fun lol
Keep _boostin how’s it holding up? I’ve got a 2k17 all stock besides awe touring cat back & Boomba bov. Been thinking about going JST tune but I’m worried about reliability. I’m always hearing about guys blowing engines
Ok I want those spacers for the rear wing. Until you said they were just spacers I thought you put an RS wing or something similar on the car. That’s such an easy mod and it looks so much more aggressive.
So many new things to add to my build list! Thanks for the break down, just got my 14' FoST and my initial build list can def be cut down for this first phase at least.
A lot of nice upgrades that will enhance the driveability but not detract from the reliability. Pretty much how I'm building mine except I'm not going to go as low on the springs. Probably the Eibach or Ford which drops you a half inch.
are spacers safe for everyday driving? I've been debating getting them for years but had a friend tell me that spacers aren't necessarily good for your car.
Could you please tell me the width of the body decal stripes? Both the black adn red ones and what length did you order (Should I get some longer so I have more left over?)?
This is the only vehicle I like at stock height if you do wheel spacers and mud flaps. Then it looks like a rally car. If you lower it then it’s a little conflicting with what you’re trying to do with the car.
@@stage3motorsports cool I have a focus se white with black gloss rims 5%tint all the way around both front and back have spacers on them actually came with a lot of after market stuff on the car looks really really good. From an owners perspective I would like to hear you out if you truly think it is worth it and if it kept the valves clean?
I would say that it is worth it, while performing routine maintenance helps with keeping the engine clean all this will do is make that process easier.
They recommend against daily driving with that Brake Cooling kit. Have you found any issue with it on all the time? I'm here in Phx too and took my newly acquired 2014 ST3 out to Wild Horse's East Track this past weekend where I was Instructing. Did a few moderate sessions and the brakes were smoking really bad to the point they were probably close to catching fire. Had to drive around the Paddock for a bit to cool them off
We didn't run into any huge issues driving with these daily outside of one being smashed by a curb so it might be a little risky to keep them on. Man sounds like you're having a blast out on the track!
Nice quality video & well spoken! Looking for some advice here. I’ve got a 2017 Focus ST factory tuned. Besides the cosmetics I’m running an AWE Touring Cat Back Exhaust and a Boomba BOV. I daily it in the city of San Francisco and it’s been fine so far but sometimes I feel like it’s lacking. Is it worth going stage 1,2,3 on these guys? Am I really going to notice that difference for the cost of getting there? My main concern is also the reliability..I hear many guys blowing turbos/engines when going that route. Any tips/advice is appreciated, thanks!
A tune really wakes up these cars, and the Cobb tune on our ST really made a difference. I know a lot of ST owners have issues with blowing the turbo or engine because they tend to lug the engine too much at low rpm, causing pre detonation and engine failure. So I think that might be what you are hearing about
I have the cobb stage 2 upgrade kit, a Bov, flowmaster catback, and I have it set up with the stage 2 tune from the accessport and it really wakes the car up. So much that I have to get better tires and start working on putting the power to the ground as it will currently spin the tires through third gear with tcs on lol
What would be your first mods? I'm looking at some ST aftermarket parts and it's hard to decide. As of right now I don't really need a bunch or any extra power. I do know the one thing I want right away is the blowoff valve you guys offer, other than that do you have any recommendations? Intake tube like in this video? Does this or any other intake need a tune? The tuner is pretty expensive so that would have to wait a while. Thanks!!!
didnt mention the front splitter.....but my '16 ST has a catback, front stability bar (control arm to control arm bar), bov, green filter and rally armor mudflaps (black/w red letter). Thats about it for now. its a fun car to daily for sure and if you can pick one up lightly used you wont feel the depreciation sting you get with a new Focus...its pretty painful lol Also, i noticed at the very end, your door pillar had the signature Ford entry pad (red numbers light up)...i dont recall seeing that as an option..was this an ST3 thing? Even the build sheets didnt show that as a added feature, at least what i saw. Either way thanks for sharing, if i dont upgrade to an RS ill be putting a full 'stage 3' (fmic/dp/tuner) on mine and just enjoying the performance the factory set up an offer
They are grocery getters. They handle well and stop pretty short but thats about it Mid 6 sec 0-60 these days is outgunned by even a 2008 Civic Si and matches a baae new Civic LX sport 1.5 turbo. A tune will definitely help you squeeze the most power possible from the intake and exhaust mods, but is not completely necessary. We kept the stock downpipe and catalytic converter on our Focus ST which is why a tune is not completely necessary

COBB makes crappy power and tunes for these cars. 300 crank hp, using 93/94 octane, not AZ 91 which comes from CA or TX. And this is with full bolt ons, it not a great power increase.. That's: Down pipe, full exhaust from Catt-back, intercooler, throttle body spacer, CAI, and the tuner there to make everything work. the CAI really does. To add over a few hp so it was nice to see just a drop in replacement. This car's biggest weak link is its tiny little K03 Turbo.
