I remember that scene vividly... Lol!!! Growing up in Sub Saharan Africa, Roasted mice(not to be confused with RATS!!!) were an ever welcome treat!!! ...A crunchy snack "grudgingly" shared with siblings and friends. We most certainly NEVER swallowed them alive n whole NEVER!!! ...They can attest to that in their "afterlife"... LOL!!!
Brings back memories of my childhood! Always loved V, the storyline of V, and have always loved the scenes with the gigantic mother ships, laser guns and battles.
My favourite cult series , absolutely fantastic . So iconic and , sheer brilliance . Have all of the collection , can watch these over and over again 😁
The best miniseries back in the day! My whole family and I were glued to the TV. V was epic! When the aliens were finally defeated it seemed like all my neighbors and I were celebrating. Was so sad when series came to an end.
Wow!! Thanks for posting,V is my second favorite tv show and to see one of the classic vintage intros to it like years ago is GREAT! None of the V intros are available on the V dvds i have so it's great to be able to see them here!!
Probably THE best alien invasion story. Man. I was there when this first aired. The first mini-series blew everyone away. The Final Battle was great, but sort of a very 80's follow-up. Almost silly. But still incredible. And this. This is one of the best recap/introductions I've ever seen.
One of my favorite things ever! I had a huge crush on Jane Badler and how awesome was Marc Singer?! The "mini series event" used to be such a big deal in the '80s. Too bad they don't do anything like that anymore.
When this movie came out. Watching in my Caribbean country it was super addictive to watch. The new one of it is just okay but not as good as this one.
yeah.. Kenneth Johnson aparently wanted to make a series about resistance fighters under nazi ocupation.. Werent any interested at all.. he then added "what if i tell you the nazis are humanoid lizard aliens from space?"
Every time I remember about this series I later remember about the “reptilian leaders” conspiracy theory and that’s enough of a laugh to keep me going.
Just being a nerd here, so don't hate me. They claimed they came from Sirius, only 8.7 light years away, and had been monitoring our TV and radio for decades. But... You might be right because we never actually see their planet, hear what name they call it, or even confirm their story. They may very well have been from a different galaxy and just been pulling our leg about the whole "practically your next door neighbor" thing.
The "remake" was just terrible and had so little to do with the original premise at all. The producers even admitted they really didn't know what the heck they were doing.
The original miniseries is cool, but I enjoyed The Final Battle even more... I see both as a same product. The Final Battle is a bit cornier, but the scale is more spectacular.
To answer your question Marcella Hayward I remember something about the visitors were allergic to red dust didn't it kill them? Yes it killed them but didn't work everywhere. In colder climates the red dust was not effective. I read several of the V books. There was a series of them.
Here's a great backstory plot, after the Resistance sent out a message to SETI it was received by the PREDATORS! who decided to hunt the Visitors but would kill the humans if they got in the way. Imagine Julie Parrish being captured again, but as the guards are standijg there you see that triangle red dots on one of their chests and FLABAM! blasts him, then two other the Predator kills the other two with a spear and his blades.
Unfortunately, humankind has not learned their lesson about how tyranny grows. When sovereign nations dissolve there will be global rule. We're making it happen right now.
"The visitors were just like us"Well..are you sure about that? They came because they have no water and food..just tear their skin and you 'll see their true face..green face..lol!
"V" was a fun enough series to watch growing up, but now, decades later as an adult, there are a couple of ridiculous plot holes, large enough to fly a fleet of Visitor motherships through... The worst offense is the idea of the Visitors coming to Earth to "steal" all the water. That is a really stupid idea. The Visitors would have needed a fleet of tens of thousands of motherships, if not more, to carry even a fraction of the total water on Earth anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. Fifty or a hundred ships isn't going to get the job done. Plus, coming to Earth for water is horrifically energy wasteful - there are far easier sources of water in the Universe to mine than a planet. Our Solar System's own Ort Cloud, for example, contains enough ice to supply the needs of millions of planets, and the Visitors could have simply taken as much of that ice as they liked, no fuss, no need to invade. Second worse, coming after humans to use as "food"?! Dumb again. The amount of energy and resources needed to invade a planet could never be made up by the amount of "food" the invaders could harvest. The Visitors would have been far better off simply finding a suitable planet to set up a massive livestock/farming operation.
The audience was far more gullible then than today. Lucasfilm, for example, had to change "wings" to "S-foils" to make Star Wars lingo more acceptable to a more educated audience. Anyway, according to the original miniseries, the Visitors came from Sirius, which is a nearby star system in astronomic terms. It is possible that no other suitable planet exists in, say, thousands of light-years. So, coming to Earth to do all those make some sense as the Visitors' ships' economics are likely not like that of our expensive, ill-developed and energy-inefficient incipient space technology.

This show was HUGE when it came out. One of the visitors ate a live mouse and everyone freaked out. lol

He made it seem real. The music, the scenes, and the storytelling talent
The narrator is Danny Dark. My grandpa. Coolest grandpa ever

This show captivated me as kid.

Best 📺 tv show ever.v the final battle is legendary.word up son
Man, those shots of the motherships hovering high above still look good today, very believable.
Classic iconic series , absolutely brilliant
V was so awesome in the 80s. There wasn't much good sci fi on regular tv in my hometown. This fit the bill.

Ummm... can I borrow it from you? Pretty please?
Best Miniseries ever.
This tv show was really good back in the days .
What is interesting is the cast. Marc Singer (Beastmaster), Faye Grant (Greatest American Hero), and Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street).
One of my favorite things ever! I had a huge crush on Jane Badler and how awesome was Marc Singer?! The "mini series event" used to be such a big deal in the '80s. Too bad they don't do anything like that anymore.
I guess many had a crush on Jane Badler, including me
Of course I own this show on DVD and streaming, but it's just not the same without this intro from the taped broadcast version!
Oh, that dub over visitors's voices still stares me freeze...
I had lots of nightmares because of this one!
V was great movie and series
It's been a few years since my last rewatch of this, V and The Final battle, it may be time for one.
Wow excellent 👏🏾
Goosebumps!!!
When this movie came out. Watching in my Caribbean country it was super addictive to watch. The new one of it is just okay but not as good as this one.
Perfect fantastic 👌 V
this series was really about Fascist taking over, a retelling of Sinclair Lewis's 'It can't happen Here'... Shadow on the Land.
yeah.. Kenneth Johnson aparently wanted to make a series about resistance fighters under nazi ocupation.. Werent any interested at all.. he then added "what if i tell you the nazis are humanoid lizard aliens from space?"
see Iron Sky ... Nazis as Lizard aliens.
NO it's about warning of the reptilians already residing on earth.
More like Communists, who have already taken over Hollywood, the Universities and the Main Stream Media
Yep. Directly modeled after the German Socialist Workers' Party in the 1930's and the "Red Fascists" later.
little did the writers know...they were predicting the US of the 2020's.
I love "V"
Gen X rules ! 80s rock on 🤘

The original Independence Day
the villains in the 80s always wore red ... any resemblance to the Soviets was mere coincidence

Exactly. Dr. Parrish isolated a bacteria that killed a baby Visitor and they grew a bunch of it.
