Exactly! I've got a Sherco ST300 Trials bike with Braketec clutch and brakes, they're amazing. Incredibly light and linear. I'm kinda of wondering if it would be as simple as buying the GasGas clutch master and lever and swapping it out on the orange and white bikes....hmmmm. haha

Your comprehensive ride review tells consumers far more than any spec sheet. The linkage adds a few pounds but is carried very low in the chassis: not very noticeable vs PDS. The aluminum subframe is my preference too. The new spec brakes and clutch are the main items that need to prove themselves over time for some of us. The fueling sure sounded good in the video. Come on down and ride Walker when the border opens. You can stay here at the Rider’s Camp. Always a good time.

The KDX200 was an awesome bike in its day. I had a 2000 model. Bought it new back then and only sold it in 2015 when I bought my Sherco. How good would it be if Kawasaki made a modern KDX?

@@danssubscriptions 2023 KDX200 Oil injection, USD forks. Modernize a few things that won't cost much. Add bold new graphics. Build it in Thailand and use SOME Chinese parts that meet Japanese quality standards.( KTM brake rotors are now made in China)
Totally loving my ec300. I’ve had 4 KTMs and this is the best so far. I’ve ridden the KTM 19 and 20 models and the ec300 feels way different - better IMO. The engine and clutch work really well together. It’s easy to hold traction on steep technical climbs. The suspension is a little soft, but works well.
I quite agree with you on it having the best pick of KTM components here in the UK we can't get the xc version so when the GasGas was available I got myself a ec250 happy days. Great video as usual keep them coming.

is the seat lower at the rear like what Husqvarna did ? (i know the seat height is the same on paper, Husky also made the rear or the seat lower which make pivot turns very easy vs the ktm pds is high). Cheers from Australia!

You'll love a 2stroke in tight woods and climbing! I had a 09 kx450f modded for woods but it was so heavy and tiring. Now it's a track bike only. I added a 19' yz250x and have never looked back. The yz is my favorite bike ever to ride for fun! I looked at ktm's but they felt and rode like a cheap easy to break bikes and the tpi sucks in reliability!!
They have way better mapping then KTM, cause they dont have to meet emissions standards like KTM. They sell less. Great video. Ive been waiting for this 1.

Can you explain more about what you mean in regard to the throttle being more responsive? Is it more pipey or subject to more wheel spin or just that there is no delay on when you turn the throttle and something happens? Looking to ride technical trails much like you ride and want the lugability and want minimal wheelspin in order to maintain traction of sketchy hills or sections.
I have the ec300 and it’s a pretty forgiving bike to ride. However if you’re a total beginner you might be more comfortable on the ec250. It’s a little lighter and easier to handle. If you have an opportunity to try both I would recommend you do so before you buy.
An excellent machine, but the tpi is so complicated to maintain. I am afraid that a tpi will give me problems. I am from colombia and here there is no good maintenance equipment. What dou you recommend to me? Thanks PNW
@@PNWEnduro 10-4. Looks to have a lighter flywheel. It's apparent in the video when you bobble in the technical sections, the bike sounds like a smaller displacement bike when you are working the clutch to get grip/moving again. I am really looking forward to sampling one!

Probably the rear suspension linkage setup accounts for some of that extra weight, with KTM having PDS. Have you ridden both bikes, which has more plush suspension?
@@PNWEnduro I own the new EXC-F or (XC-W in US), and can agree, linkage is much more forgiving. I'm hating the PDS. My front shocks have stuff all movement on the road, only while offroad do they soak. But I guess I'm used to a DRZ-400E plushness.

Chose an ex350f over one of these, not 100% sure it was the right choice, haha! But the plan was to have a 2t and a 4t in the garage, and I already have a yz250x.

@@bennelson9889 the ex/xc bikes have semi close ratio, first gear will be higher and you won’t have that awkward gap between 1-2. That being said the wide ratio of the xcw/ex bikes is better suited for tight technical single track. Personally I’d go for the xcw just to stay away from the air forks.
@@PNWEnduro yeah the ex300 that os available has mxtech spring forks put on. It’s a $2500 suspension set up. I’m just wondering if that would be a proper route for mix of hair scrambles a few times a year and mostly trail and technical riding rest of the year. I also weigh 200 without gear so I would have to redo the stock xwc forks and shock I imagine. Did you feel the semi close ratio was a hindrance in tight technical stuff?
The other test you were complaining about the standart tyres... Do you remember what were those and this one has already other tyres? In Europe all the bikes come with FIM tyres that have smaller ... Completely non sense is to come without tha Hald guards!!!
Here the bike comes with a Dunlop at81. Most of us put on a gummy tire with mousse or tubliss before even riding the bike. The standard tires are “okay” but I always run a gummy tire on the back.
2 strokes always are gonna be king of power.. 4 poke guys always talk smack until they get smacked by a 2 stroke then they will give all the excuses in the world why they got beat real bad by a 2 stroke half the size

That trail is amazing. Similar to NE but less rocky so you folks get the technical but with more flow since you can hold more speed. Love it.

Best description is it feels more like a carb bike than previous tpi bikes.

Yes but they still feel farther out than the brembos.

No, I Don’t feel they make much difference. If you want one they can be added and are not that expensive.

It's not really more complicated to maintain but it is more complicated to fix if something goes wrong.

What do you know about the flywheel? Is it lighter or heavier than that of its siblings?

By the time my footage gets edited and posted to YT it's a minimum couple weeks. Sometimes over a month.
Does it have the xc or xcw gearbox?
Yes, EC is wide ratio. The EX model is semi-close like a KTM XC.

Your bike has black rims, but the GG website shows silver. Also, no SA on the factory bike. Are these dealer mods?
Dealer added the black rims. S/A required on all bikes to ride on public land here so most people add them on.

It has the wide ratio transmission like the XC-W. The Gas Gas EX model is closer to an XC with the semi-close ratio and the air forks.

I rode this gas gas back to back with a 2020 KTM 300xcw. Also been on a 2021 husky tx300i and a 2020 KTM 300xc recently.

Is the first second and third gear stronger than the ktm?? That's the only reason I will not buy a ktm besides their crappy tpi!!!
