I mean, if the reaction DBD players had to the hook in the TCM game I would be willing to guess most DBD fans haven't actually watched the movies the characters are based on.
The Dredge’s cooldown animation is actually different from a survivors perspective. it actually drags it’s claw across the ground to wipe the blood off and it’s pretty cool looking.
Fun fact about Ghostfaces animation, it's based of the movies were it was improvised from the actor to avoid continuity errors with the blade beeing blody from the hit in one shot but being clean in the next one (source: deadmeat kill count)
A lot of these animations get their strength in form of the camera turning and shaking and their sounds, making them very very satisfying. With Demo you can sort of "feel" the scream even without any sound. Or with Spirit it's extremely satisfying getting a hit because of how smooth the turn and the crackling/shattering sound is.
An underrated little joy of these is you yourself turning the camera according to the animation too. For example with Merchant's i first nudge the camera to the left a bit as she raises her weapon then throw it to the right as she swings it to clean the blood. Very satisfying.
Trickster's and Hag's are my fav because of the visuals, but I feel like Ghostface's fits the best, minding the movies and his overall charcater, a ruthless killer, that also likes to play with his victims.
Oni has 4 different weapon cleaning/cooldown animations which is pretty interesting and he's the only killer in the game (so far) to have 4 weapon cleaning/cooldown animations by default.
Oni also has 5, Blood suck& Katana spin while also having a simple blood flick for a non charged basic attack in fury, the charged club smash into the ground twice, and the demon dash one slam if I remember correctly
I'm a big fan of Ghostface's knife wipe, simply because it's something he always does in the movies, and the reason for that is because in the first one, they had concerns with continuity. There were going to be issues with the amount of blood on the knife as they changed and redid takes, so they came up with Ghostface wiping the knife after each hit and it's become pretty iconic.
Skull Merchant's default is also a reference to anime/manga on general. That flicking to clean the blood without looking at the blade is SO common in anime and manga it stops being something that happens in real life and turns into a reference.
I will never get tired of watching Ghostface’s cooldown animation. It looks so smooth and fluid, and as a bonus, it’s a reference to the movies and how he cleans the blade in those movies.
Singularity just reminds me of Dredges. And just in general. Its just a mass trying to pick its attacking arm back up. And fun fact: the reason why Oni whips the blood off his samurai sword because it was an old tradition to not have your blood of your enemies on your weapon. Its a sigh of honor and respect to your enemy
A bit of a correction but, Oni's sword flick happens on injured survivors only, as when a healthy survivor is injured he gets like 45% of his power (hence the blood absorb animation). This goes with Nemesis as well, he will yell when he does a basic attack on injured survivors, or (in most cases) downing them. Hope this helped!

How about a version of this but how the animations look from the survivor's POV? Since the animations can look different from the Survivor's POV compared to the killer's
I think Nemesis’s different cooldowns operate on a cycle once you enter tier II. I noticed there were slight changes in his cooldowns each time you hit. You get the normal one on the first hit the second one is essentially the same except he growls at the survivor after hitting them and the third he does the yell. I may be wrong but this is the best explanation I’ve seen
I agree with about Twins. The flick is cool, but it's basic. I always wished it had Charlotte kind of cradle the weapon, or check it over. Too represent the way they don't have much and need to take care of what they have.

Can I just day I love the detail of the blood dripping in the game. It is so satisfying to see, especially with Bubba, it actually feels like you're getting blood off it.
Honestly, if the entity made Nemesis think all of the survivors were stars members, it would make the angry animation cooler with him screaming it. Of course, they should lock it as an animation when they pallet stunned you earlier. I feel like it only looks goofy cuz there is no reason for nemesis to be angy.
Just a technical thing. I think the video is missing the animation from survivor perspective, it is also important I think, especially for Demo and Hag

I'm a big fan of Knight's weapon cooldown. There's just something very powerful about running a hand down the length of a sword.
Fun Fact: wesker knife flips comes from RE6 where after chris slits a j'uavo's throat he will flips the knife
