Just did it on my 2015 Audi a5. Absolutely worked. Car would react immediately to stepping on the accelerator or would shift irregularly. Did everything word for word on this video . Car drives/ shifts smoothly and immediately now . Thank you
this 100% worked, thank you so much. I reset mine today on an A7 2014 and it made such a difference especially in Sport. the changes from 3rd to 2nd were quite juddery but are much smoother now. In Dynamic it barely feels like it is changing gear now!
Well I'll be damned, this actually works- thank you! I have a 2012 A7 that was acting all twitchy pulling away from a stop. I had it in for some unrelated service and the mechanic noticed it and he gave me the impression it might be a significant problem, but he said there were no codes so he recommended I should check with a dealer. The dealer quoted me $250 to reflash the TCU. Somewhere around that time, I read about this fix in a couple of the big Audi forums and both times saw comments saying it had been debunked, so I just forgot about it. Anyway, I just got a ross-tech vcds and I was going to reset the transmission with that, but with nothing to lose I thought "what the hell, let me try this first." And it worked immediately. I'm subscribing- looking forward to seeing what other gems of knowledge you're sharing EDIT: 2012 Audi A7 C7, US-spec, 3.0, 8-speed auto
Hi I would like to thank you very much. I also had problems with my gearbox and saw your video. I thought I could do no wrong and to my surprise my Audi drives very well now. Thank you again.
Thank you for the information. I plan to test it in my 2008/2009 Audi A4 B8. It seems there might be an issue with the gears or shifting in my Automatic S tronic. While driving, it appears the gears aren't changing automatically in the D drive mode, seemingly stuck in the first gear I guess because I didn't hear any switch gear little noise. Only on Sport mode and manual mode, I notice shifts based on speed that are switching automatically and it looks good. I experienced a noise when starting my audi in P position today, giving gas for 15-30 seconds. Could this have caused the gear switch problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
If your gear changes are jerky or your experiencing transmission problems try servicing your transmission your car maybe low on transmission fluid. Worked for me.
I got a question about this solution. I have an issue with a high oil pressure thingy, basically with the 3rd valve, and while driving i got the message “gearbox malfunction bla bla” After trying your method, the warning was gone, so is this solution somehow related with oil pressure also?
@@luciengranger2762 well apparently it does not show it anymore, however if I diagnose my car via any software it still shows that i have a gearbox issue. My mechanic told me to replace the electronic module of the gearbox or some shi*, otherwise drive normally and you won’t have any issues.
@gent9896 Thanks for the reply... So your car just fixed itself in a way? That's very interesting... I do drive normally most of the time, I changed the clutches in October last year, but that's the perks of buying a second hand with lowish mileage. We tend to get the maintenance dilemma. I'll try resetting, and I'll see what it does... I am praying it's not the mechatronics unit... that's a pretty penny. My Mechanic has already booked me in for Monday, so I should know by the end of the week where my pocket will point me 😅😅
@@luciengranger2762 my mech asked 1000€ for replacing the electronic module and clutchesh incl transmission oil, so idk what’s the price range there but still expensive for standards in Albania
Take it to the service bro, seems like clutch plates are gone, could also mean mechatronics unit as well. Had the same message on mine and just put new plates, ring sealers, filters and oil and the message is gone, luckily the mechatronics wasn’t damaged.

Nice to hear that 👍
one question, don't you had to wait couple of minutes after this proccedure, or start immidiatly after.

This works, used to be slow to pull away with lots of over revs, but now she's a joy to drive... Thanks

Does anyone know if this will affect a remap that’s on my car? It’s only an engine one but don’t want it to mess it up
It won't I've tried it
Does it work on dsg 7 speed
Does this only work if you have 25 miles in the tank
Sorry not clear your question.
Tank level is not affecting this reset procedure
Hi does it work on Audi A6 4F?
