Steps to Reset the Peugeot EAT6 Gearbox: 1. **Start the Car**: - Ensure that your car is parked safely and is in a secure location. Start the engine and let it idle. 2. **Switch the Gear to 'P' (Park)**: - With the engine running, ensure the gear selector is in the 'P' (Park) position. 3. **Turn Off the Ignition**: - Turn off the engine and remove the key (or turn off the engine for cars with keyless entry). 4. **Wait for a Few Minutes**: - Wait for about 5 minutes. This allows the car's electronics to fully power down, which is important for resetting the adaptive settings. 5. **Turn the Ignition to the "On" Position**: - Without starting the engine, turn the ignition to the "On" position. This is the position where all the dashboard lights come on, but the engine does not start. 6. **Fully Depress the Accelerator Pedal**: - Press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there for about 15-30 seconds. 7. **Release the Accelerator Pedal**: - After holding the pedal down for the specified time, release it completely. 8. **Turn Off the Ignition**: - Turn the ignition off again and wait for another 2-3 minutes. 9. **Start the Engine**: - After waiting, start the engine normally. 10. **Drive the Car Normally**: - The gearbox should now be reset, and the adaptive settings cleared. Drive the car normally to allow the gearbox to re-learn your driving style.
I have golf mk6 Dsg gear box shifting normally but the gear letters that was showing on the instrument cluster stopped showing anyone faced such problem and what's the fix guys thanks in advance
It is to check the tyre pressure. One tire was deflated a bit, once you put them all on the same pressure you can reset this and this disappears. Which I actually did later that day :) Check all tire pressure, inflate which one is below required pressure, and press reset button and this indicator will disappear. It depends from car to car where this button is, on the older car it is usually in the glove box, on the newer models you can reset it on the touch screen.

This does not reset dsg. You need vcds or obdeleven and there's several things you reset in adaption and you will hear and feel the dsg make a lot of clunking sounds and feel it. Then you have to drive a certain pattern right after. I have the software and have done it many times. If you are doing anything it is a throttle body adaption only
That car is at least a 2013, not a 2012. In addition, it has a 6-speed transmission and so it certainly never reached 7th gear. I can't comment on the rest of the video, it seems unlikely that this procedure would reset the TCU.
@@UnboxingSve As I said, it's at least a 2013, based on the body style, not a 2012, and if it has a 7-speed transmission, it's the only 2012 CC with a 7-speed DSG transmission on the face of the earth, or it's some European variant not available to most of your viewers.. The "D7" display certainly suggests that it is, indeed, in seventh gear. My compliments to you for owning such a rare automobile.

- Ensure that your car is parked safely and is in a secure location. Start the engine and let it idle.
2. **Switch the Gear to 'P' (Park)**:
- With the engine running, ensure the gear selector is in the 'P' (Park) position.
3. **Turn Off the Ignition**:
- Turn off the engine and remove the key (or turn off the engine for cars with keyless entry).
4. **Wait for a Few Minutes**:
- Wait for about 5 minutes. This allows the car's electronics to fully power down, which is important for resetting the adaptive settings.
5. **Turn the Ignition to the "On" Position**:
- Without starting the engine, turn the ignition to the "On" position. This is the position where all the dashboard lights come on, but the engine does not start.
6. **Fully Depress the Accelerator Pedal**:
- Press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there for about 15-30 seconds.
7. **Release the Accelerator Pedal**:
- After holding the pedal down for the specified time, release it completely.
8. **Turn Off the Ignition**:
- Turn the ignition off again and wait for another 2-3 minutes.
9. **Start the Engine**:
- After waiting, start the engine normally.
10. **Drive the Car Normally**:
- The gearbox should now be reset, and the adaptive settings cleared. Drive the car normally to allow the gearbox to re-learn your driving style.
I have golf mk6 Dsg gear box shifting normally but the gear letters that was showing on the instrument cluster stopped showing anyone faced such problem and what's the fix guys thanks in advance
That looks more like an electrical problem so not sure.
Thats mehatronic unit
Does this throttle reset work for a skoda Octavia with dsg gearbox?
Yes, as it is the same VW parts
does this work if battery is unplugged?
I don`t think so.
VW Tiguan mk1 DSG 6-speed Automatic gear, a glitch on 2nd 3rd gear up to down and down to up............ what would be the reason!!
Maybe try changing the gear oil but not sure about that one.
New oil and filter helps too
Could be, didn`t try that as the shifting is very smooth.
Can I do this with my Peugeot 508 ?
Not sure, this works only on German cars.
What is the orange light on the dashboard next to the 180
It is to check the tyre pressure.
@@UnboxingSve thanks bud some great information 👍
Kako te služi menjač? Kažu da pravi probleme ...
Redovno odrzavanje i ne pravi nikakav problem. Problem je sto kod nas auta predju skoro 1m km i niko ne mijenja ulje u automatski menjac i onda losi automatici.
Tomorrow im gonna try with my vw Jetta 2016 i hope it will work because really no garage help me here
Any issues with the DSG so far?
I sold this car but DSG is very durable if you change the oil on regular intervals which I beleive is around 60k
DSG is the shit. I got. 350K V6 3.2 with the original clutch plates.
My hate has a touran 1.9tdi dsg which runs like 600.000 atm and the gearbox is still holding up pretty fine
@@Nightmare-FN Thanks man, seems like you get defective one's and good one's? Or is it just about not driving like a degenerate and keeping services up to date?
@@ewanduplessis9682 ofcourse they can’t be 100% perfect, but oil changes on time and it should be good to go. Usually the DSG on the faster engines are better(with the wet clutch plates)
@@Nightmare-FN Got any idea what the quality of the DSG on the Golf 7 GTI is like? Are they one of the better units?
Hello,
Does the engine / coolant temp. affect by the reset process? You didn't say anything about it and I can see that the coolant temp. is max.
Greetings from 🇵🇱
Hello, no, this does not have anything in common with coolant temp. You should check that is some other issue.
Will this fix a mechatronic unit play protection issue?
You can give it a try but I don`t think it can fix mechatronic issues.
Bro I need your help. Are you in UAE?
Hello, yes I am in UAE but I am not mechanic :)
Works for EDC on Renault?
Not sure, I never draw Renault :)
I see you have a TPMS light on. …you got aftermarket wheels installed?
Hi, no, it was stock wheels. At that time I had just bought the car so I didn`t have time to check the pressure and restart it. I did later restart the TPMS and it never came back again.
Vw/ audi use the ABS sensor to determine tyre pressure. Not a sensor in the wheel 👍🏻
@@gavl.f.c6197 it depends! Some VW cars are actually equipped with presure sensor for each wheel. It was an option feature :]
@@pio9919 the sensors are not in the wheel the ABS measure pressure independently
@@mikestead3804 In case of ABS it mesure the correct wheel pressure by estimation of wheel spinning. ABS itself cannot determine tyre pressaure. To provide you exact data you need wheel presure sensor to check it directley.
I have a tuned DSG, if I reset does it remove the tune?
The tune is for computer ECU so not sure how it is connected to DSG.
When the process is completed and the car is closed, how long do I wait to open it and drive it?
No need to wait, you can unlock and go immediately.
Thank you for great video
Glad you enjoyed it Dalibor. Pozdrav :)
I thought if u remove the key it will void the reset u r suppose to sttart the car after u hear the click
You can try both things, it will not hurt :)
Your passat travelled over 181,000 km, still look new and going strong. Any major car problems? Cheers.
Yes, it consumed oil I needed to top around 1l of oil every 2000km.
@@UnboxingSve
Oh dear. That is troublesome.
@@UnboxingSve Is that not fixable? Seems like a huge problem?
Hi, how long tha gearbox is learning? Thanks
200km
It is always learning but after some time it will not have anything new to learn if you drive always the same way :D
@@nikolamarkovic1570 DSG do not adapt to you'r driving style. It's a myth.
It just doesn't... Depending on the mode, load, throttle, ... It will shift at defined RPM, same for everybody
DSC determines RPM, road speed and throttle position, to increase time before gear changes put shift into S sports mode to decrease time before shifting up place in drive the DGS dose not have a memory
But Sport mode shifts too high like 3-4k rpms.
@@UnboxingSve That's not to high, that's sport rpm for a petrol car
@@UnboxingSve that's meant to be for sprinting in sporty driving for quick acceleration.
It’s work thank u a lot❤️
Welcome 👍
How can this be done in a keyless start car with DSG?
Hello, the same way, just press the start button without pressing the brake, in that way you will start the ignition only.
How do I program my gearbox golf 5
Watch the video.
Weiß jemand, ob es in Deutschland, Auswirkungen auf die Garantie hat ?
Does this work for Audi TT 2008?
Yes it should!
@@UnboxingSve alright thank you sir, will try soonest.
This does not reset dsg. You need vcds or obdeleven and there's several things you reset in adaption and you will hear and feel the dsg make a lot of clunking sounds and feel it. Then you have to drive a certain pattern right after. I have the software and have done it many times. If you are doing anything it is a throttle body adaption only
Could be throttle adaption, but for me, and many it was very helpful.
That car is at least a 2013, not a 2012. In addition, it has a 6-speed transmission and so it certainly never reached 7th gear. I can't comment on the rest of the video, it seems unlikely that this procedure would reset the TCU.
Haha bro is teaching me about my car. Look 0:40 dashboard says D7 that means it is in seventh gear!
Can’t you just disconnect the battery for 30 minutes to reset it?
I didn`t try that :)
This car engine code CAVD ?
Hello not sure about car code.
how does this affect the car when the transmission is tuned?
That I am not sure. When it is tunned I guess they change the computer so it will not affect as it will not be anymore factory computer.
Thanks Sve!
THank you!
This procedure does not reset the gearbox.
It resets the throttle body.
Good enough for me :D
Will it work on 2021 DSG VW?
It should, give it a try.
How often should we reset our baby?
I think if there is only one user and you are satisfied then no need to reset it after the inital reset. I do this only once, when I buy used car and I don`t like the shifting patern which is learned from the previous user behaviour and preferences. Afther the reset it start learning my shifting preferences and I am fine with that, no need for further resets :)
@@UnboxingSve Do you have drive it manual to teach it or automatic?
Followed the procedure but it didn't work for me 🥺🥺🥺
I have a Skoda Fabia RS 2015...
Sorry to hear it didn`t work for you.
I heard nothing until i pushed the gas pedal..thats problem?:/
What you heard? :D
This is good to know
This is a throttle reset, not DSG
YUP.
Ok thanks for clarifying, but important is that it works! :)
Windows down, add fuel to the interior and add ignition source. Fixes any problem with Volks or Audi vehicles.
Quick fix :D
Very nice car....
It sure is!
Just tried this on my 2nd hand vw caddy tsi 1.4 which has sluggish acceleration. This works no shit
Great to hear!
