    For me, 90's sport bikes and superbikes were really cool. Even today, they look modern. They are among my favorite styles.

    This was my first bike back in 93, in the black/red/silver livery. I owned two of these through 97, and didn't buy another bike until two months ago. The F2 is what got me into motorcycling, and even though I went 22 years without a bike, the desire never left me.

    I have a '91 CBR600 FM(F2). I bought it in July 2000. 28 years old, over 100,000 miles and still my bike of choice. My other bike is a 2007 Triumph Daytona 675 and she hardly ever gets a run out. The CBR is just so good!

    You guys rock!!!!!!!!!!!! Brings back memories! My first bike was this same one! I out grew the bike quickly but what a reliable quick bike! Sold it at 70,000 miles! Parked it in my house on carpet and never leaked! I have owned many other bikes like ZX9R Ninja's and others and this F2 was damn reliable. Red lining every gear and was as fast as my bosses 2005 CBR600 which he even admitted it there was no difference. I beat the crap out of my old F2 oh god the memories :-) :-( Also Adam like a brother RIP our bikes before we bought were side by side in the BARGAIN NEWS paper. His listing was fora 1995 or 1997 HONDA CBR900RR.

    We used the engine from this bike for our entry in the 1992 Formula SAE competition. However, we added a turbocharger from a Chevy Sprint, a throttle body and MAF sensor from a 3800 Buick and our own printed circuit board fuel injection/ engine control (no other team had their own controller). Great memories!

    I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s still a few of these still kicking around. There’s a 2000 CBR600F4i with over 332,000 miles on it. Most bikes get sent to the junkyard because of wrecks, not because of bad engines or any reliability issues. I bet you could buy one of these today and have plenty of fun and go as fast as you want to

Back to Honda and a 2000 929RR after that then finally, my last one was a 2007 Yamaha R1. All GREAT and FANTASTIC bikes!! I bought a brand new one of these in Nov 1992. Rode the piss out of that 1993 600F2. Sadly while visiting San Diego in 1998 it was stolen right out of my brothers front yard. I had a Disc lock and Steering locked and someone still yoinked it. Never saw it again and had to fight my insurance forever just to get anything for the theft. 2 things happened because of that theft. I never rode another motorcycle to San Diego and Progressive lost me as a customer forever. To which my dad had already warned me about, "Never do business with A Progressive... especially if the word Progressive is in their business name."

I think it was 90-97HP to the rear wheel. Funny enough it held with 900's because it was so light. My bike inch past my friends Honda 900 but my bike weighed 390- 400lbs and my body was 160lbs and my friend weighed 240-260lbs and that 900 weighed a lot more than my bike. So I won just because of weight.

    How come no reviews test motorcycle acceleration like they do for cars?

    • @JPWest020
      @JPWest020 3 роки тому

      That’s because they all do about 3.5 seconds from 0 to 100km/h.
      It really depends on rider skills. Some will be quicker, some slower.
      A skilled rider can do it in 3s on a nineties bike and a less experienced rider needs 4s on a 2017 bike
      So it’s pretty much useless to do anyway measuring.
