I show you how the Rod holders are made where I'm from . and in my opinion they are the best out there . if you have any questions on this or any other subject leave it in the comment section and I'll be glad to get back to you and answer it to the best of my ability
Keith....You've got all sorts of inventions up your sleeve & ideas in your head....Another out of the Ballpark DIY!!
Thank you Sir. I love making stuff , I try save money but I feel like I can make it better sometimes too
I've got 3 sets of those for carp fishing I've had 30 yrs, Rutherford county nc here supporting ya!!
I'm right there with ya brother lol , I've got about 3 set too , bit ive own a bunch of . I just made a DIY because everyone should have a set lol , Dand Rutherford county you just right up the road man I'm in between Gastonia and shelby in Cleveland county. Thank you for your support brother
Its nice to see a DYI youtuber that can make some nice welds
Thank you Sir , I'm decent but I say that because ive got so many friends that are really good welders , I appreciate it brother. Hey thanks for taking the time too comment buddy
I picked up a few of them about 7 years ago when I was visiting north Carolina. They work fantastically as long as it's not an all rock bank. I'm probably one of the only folks in upstate NY with those types of holders.
That is one heck of a rod holder Keith...Talk about well made and heavy duty...👍👍
Thank you Sir , it really is heavy duty I used em for years when I was younger , fish out
of a boat mostly now but I figured it would help someone else
NORTH CAROLINA THOW YO HANDS UP!!! Nice holders guy, a must for bank fishing. Great video
Hahahaa you know you come use some of them lol . Thank you brother .
These rod holders are pretty nice. Mine pretty simple, but they work for my current needs. I really like your videos about making stuff.
Thank you brother , I appreciate it. I love making stuff almost as much as I love to fish lol . They good rod holders even though I don't back fish much any more
That's cool that you can do stuff like that by your self!
Enthusiastic Fisherman thank you buddy , you can do it too , I've just had a lot of years to learn . I believe anyone can do anything they want to do and put there mind too
Putting that rubber coating on it makes it safe to use on the beach if you surf fish too.....Cool DIY.....
Yes Sir . Hey I appreciate you brother , I was thinking about making some for spinning reels because a lot of ppl don't use baitcasters what do you think ?
Fishin N Stuff Willing to bet there’s a good market on those for you......No doubt one for spinning reels would work too.....
Dang, where was you 40 years ago when we catfished all night long and all we had was a stick with a nub on the side that we used for a pole holder😅😅😅. Another GREAT creation by the master creator!!! 👍👍 God Bless my friend. ~Jay~
Thanks Jay 40 years ago these stabs weren't around yet lol , heck 40 years ago me my dad and my brother fished off the bank with old bicycle rim stands lol do you remember those lol
@@FishinNStuff Lolol😅, oh yeah, I remember those😁. Even if we couldn't find anything we'd shove our fishin pole handle down into the mud just to hold it up, lol.
I purchased a pair of these from Bass Shack in North Carolina, had them shipped to me in Ohio, best bank holders you will ever use.
You are 100% right brother , they are solid and can hold a rod in no matter how big the fish , just so long as your drag is set right . Most reels have 20lbs of drag so im not sure they would come out even if you lock em down lol , I appreciate you watching brother
Same here
Good job on them rod holders they were awesome bud.
Thanks you Sir they turned out really good . I don't get to back fish much any more but those are the best ive used
Genius! That’s an awesome rod holder! 😎👍
Thank you Sir, they do work really really well
Looking good. Those are great rod holders,,,I miss my welder ,,had to sell it ,when I moved in to the apartment
Welders are nice , I grew up doing wood work now I do both . I appreciate it brother they work really good
Very nice stands and footage of the build was perfect!!👊👍
Thank you brother I appreciate that , it's harder doing DIYs that some ppl think , well by yourself about ways lol
@@FishinNStuff I hear ya, I wondered if you had an assistant helping you film. I have some rod holders that I welded many years ago that actually set the hook when a fish strikes.
Yes Sirrrrr!!! Man you sure can create some stuff bro wow ... Im thinkingnyou should sell rod holders man .my cousin who catfish and all his friend in like competition and theu spend tons of money on those holders. Great job my brother as always.
Thank you brother they really are great rod holders , I've been using some like em since 1988
Can you do one for bank fishing with spinning reel Thank you love your channel. Very helpful
Looks like these will last a while!! Great job
Thank you brother they are pretty nice stands , I boast fish mostly now but these are great for bank fishing
Around here (oh/ky) these are super popular among trophy paylake anglers.
Cool to see them being used outside of paylakes!
Pay lakes are where they started at around here too but I use em any time I fish . . But to tell the truth I mostly boat and kayak fish now , I back fish on occasion but it's hard to find a place that's not posted no trespassing
@@FishinNStuff amen to that! It can be hard to find a lowly pressurized spot from the banks
Yes Sir it can NO TRESPASSING lol
Really great project. You have some cool tools. There must be some really beefy alpha bluegill where you bank fish from.
Lol well lol I use em for catfish and carp most the time but I suppose you could use em for blue gill . If your a really Alpha Male haha
Haha Alpha bluegill
Awesome Video Bro, definitely down to try & make one of them rod holders.
Thank you brother , they work great for pretty much any kind of bank fishing
Hay just like to say thank you for your video of rod holders for bait casting I made 3 like the one you have in this video but I made them to hold 2 rods a
That's cool
You are a very talented man. Very talented man. Love your very intresting channel. Looking foward to your next upload.
Thank you buddy I appreciate your encouragement
Thanks for sharing have a blessed day in the name of Jesus
Looked up the cost of rod holders and my friend you sure are saving the dough $. Great job on being creative and using whatcha got! Till the next time my friend.
Thank you Bell I all ways enjoy and appreciate your comments my friend
That was amaizing💯👍🏽
Thank you Sir. I appreciate you watching brother
Fishin N Stuff 😊👍🏽
I could watch that chop saw all day Fishin. I could look at your spotless workshop all day in bewilderment and wonder why mine looks like someone threw a hand grenade in there ☹️
That could cut saw is awesome lol , and most days my shop looks like an Atom bomb went off im it . So I have to take a day one in a while and clean it up lol , everything I've seen you do is very neat so I'm betting your exaggerating a little lol . I appreciate you mate
Awsome stands. Good video as well.
Thank you brother I appreciate that . Thanks for commenting too by the way
Awesome rod rest mate! Glenn's catfishing adventures sent me over to check it out.
Thank you brother I appreciate it, Glenn's a cool guy
That's were mine cam From a carp paylake in NC great viedo on how make them
The Bass Shack in Shelby NC has a good deal on em .
Cool I didn't know they was stores that sold carp stuff thanks I'll Google them
Nice project. Agree with you on that the good thing is that a fish can't pull your rod out of that, no matter how big.
Yeah those things are solid , and they work great .
I always enjoy your creations. I have always been a amateur designer and it's fun to see some one else's creative things. Looking forward to your next creative brain attack!!!!!!!!
Haha heck that was a very creative comment, I can tell your a master craftsman . I appreciate that brother I'm always working on something lol
You can't buy something like that at the store! That is awesome! Nice job crafting that rod holder!
Chip's Outdoor Channel thank you man , you should look into those welders you can do it , I'll help you all I can brother I appreciate it
@@FishinNStuff Haha those might be your famous last words :) I got a weld needing done on the frame of a disk. I'd have to practice to make it up to that level. I might take you up on that though!
I will help you brother but I ain't no pro , I'm more of a hobbyist, I've got friends that are really good . Its shocking how many welding videos are on youtube as well . I watched them too figure out what to buy and learn stuff
I'd say there would be a market for your brilliant rod stand in the shops. You will soon be a millionaire.
Thank you my friend , I doubt I'll ever be a millionaire lol but I appreciate you thinking so lol
Fantastic
Thank you very much I appreciate you watching
Nice video man if i had your tools i could make alot of stuff lol
Well im 50 now but I didn't always have em , you can get a decent welder for 89 bucks of Amazon or at harbor freight , I've always love to make stuff , I appreciate you watching brother
Yes!!! I need like 8 of these!
You really do brother they would be great for catching sharks and such lol . They are great Rod Holders . Like u said they are a NC thing im almost 50 and I've used em since I was 18 years old
Would be interested in me coming up with some rod holders that work for spinning reels . I was just asking because a lot of ppl use spinning reels instead of baitcasters
@@FishinNStuff oh yeah... we use PVC pipe in the beach but your holders are way better. I want nice ones like that! (With a beer holder lol)
@@FishinNStuff shoot yeah man... you should see how many of those things line thr beach here in summer... all spinning reels.
I appreciate brother, lol beer holder haha ,,,, that's not a bad idea lol , I thought about doing a video on how to make those pvc 1s ive got some but I saw some really cool ones that would be really easy to make . They had aluminum spikes on em that went in the sand
Been watching your videos there great.. my husband used too love fishing... OH YEAH Your SISTER SEND ME😂😂
Well thank you very much . I love fishing but I mostly do. DIYs .I really appreciate you watching
What about an alternative for open face reels??
Patent it thats cracking piece of kit
raymond bailey he can’t. People all over ky, Indiana, Ohio, and other places use these at Paylaker. He’ll bait shops all around sell them. It’s public domain stuff right there. Won’t no way 100,000 pay lakers and shops will stop making these.
Your exactly right it's public domain and I might make the adjustable ones next so everyone will know how to make them too
Love the rod holder man. Please please be safe with that angle grinder and the strings from your hoodie that grinder will run up your neck before you can stop it
You right man , good call I'll remember that . Ive had a lot of crazy things happen , so thank you for pointing that out , and thank you for watching to brother
That’s a pretty cool rod holder! Like you said a fish won’t pull that
Yes Sir ain't no fish pulling it in unless you just don't stick it in the ground right lol
I have 3 of the round stock they are a little bit heavier and 2 of the square tubing that are adjustable they work great almost anywhere
They doi work great , I like the plain squares tubing ones but I have the adjustable ones too , I was thinking of do a video on how to make them ,,, what you think man . I appreciate you watching brother
@@FishinNStuff that would be great the local tackle shop sells them for 22 dollars a piece for the taller ones and 20 dollars for the shorter ones I would really like to see the video I enjoy watching them. By the way I wrapped paracord around the round stock ones and sprayed them with flex seal wish I could add a photo
Good video,I have made plenty of them!
I know you have your a NC boy lol . Ive never seen anyonefrom another state using then though , have you ever knowest that lol . Me and Nuskool was just talking about you the other day . We watched your crappie video and your jig docks on Norman the same way wer do . That must be a NC thing too lol
@@FishinNStuff I had a uncle who carp fished back in the 90's,he had me making them thing for everybody! I got to where I hated making them!Dont many people know how to crappie fish like that...you see very few doing it that way.
Vertical jigging is my favorite man , ol Nuskool is a crappie fishing pro . A lot of ppl on UA-cam do know that . We enter a crappie tournament a couple of years ago . But now he's just deemed a cat fisherman. Nothing wrong with that but it sure comes in handy when you can catch bait other than throwing a castnet you know ol I had a set of those strands in 1988 but they were solid stock and not square tubing back then
I'm going to TRY and get one of these put together asap (I do not have a welder and I do not know anybody with one... CHALLENGE!).
I was wondering though. What series ambassadeur is it you demonstrated in the rod holder at the end of the video. The gold one. I seen it was 6000 but I have never seen a 6000 in that color.
That was a lime green 6500 Pro rocket
Here is a link so you can see one better but I've had mine for 10 years or better

I want some , these look very strong . How much do they weigh , they look like they wouldn't be heavy using hollow square tubing and all
They are pretty light 2 or 3 lbs maybe ive never weighed one of em but they work great
Good video
Thank you Sir , and thanks for watching , I always appreciate comments they are inspiring
How about one for a spinning rod
So what if yer using open face or closed face reels instead of baitcaster?? This doesn't help those of us that use open face or closed face reels.
How my friend love your diy videos have a question for you how can I make a rod locker out of aluminum
I made this one , it's different but I'm not sure how good it would work make this way
ua-cam.com/video/IhRXps1sYO0/v-deo.html
Looks good!! ;-)
Thank you brother I appreciate you watching and commenting
Those look great what would you charge to make two of those ?
I don't really sell em , plus the shipping would be high
What if I took care of the shipping and they pick it up from your doorstep. Would you be interested in making a special order for 4?
Where can I find the DIY on those bobber bite flags you made? Those would REALLY come in handy when the Mrs. and I fish Lake Erie.
I think they were on the first carp bait video I made ,,, I think 🤔
How much would you charge me to make me two? I have 4 already but cant get anymore here in ohio at the time. I used one of those rod holders locked down to catch the 52 pound flathead you can see in my picture. It held him he just pulled some drag. My abus were 75% of the way locked down.
Sorry sometimes utube doesn't notify me when I get new comments on old videos for some reason . I really don't make stuff to sell most stuff I make is so heavy the shopping would be so high it wouldn't be worth it any ways . Do you happen to go to the catfish conference I could bring you some in February they sell em around here
I need me bout 4 of these do you make n sell them. If so how much ya charge for 4 of em
No Sir I don't sell anything
I have been trying to get some of these for a long time. No luck so far.
Look up the Bass Shack in Shelby NC And give em a call . They will ship em ive sent other ppl there and they got some
People all over ky, Indiana, and Ohio and beyond use these. Not just North Carolina.
I didn't know Ohio had em , there's no DIYs on UA-cam about em WELL there is now so ppl all over the world have em now
Thank you
What model do I look for of I want some reels like yours where the clicker switch is off to the side? Looks like Abu don't make them like that no more
They are 6500 Pro Rockets

@@FishinNStuff ohhh ok this must be the next step beyond c3 then c4s
Yeah they are basically remakes of the 1960 model abu Abu Garcia. Which I loved . They've been around for about 20 years . Pro Rockets
I have access to a flux core welder. Would that work for this project?
Yes there's not really much difference. Fluxcore welding can be even stronger
What size square tube? Looks like 1/4?
Its 1/2
Oh cool. Thanks
What kind of saw blade is that on your chop saw?
It's not a chop saw , well it's not a wood chop saw , it's called a cold cut saw , it turns less RPMs and it's made to cut steel it cuts it so fast with zero sparks that it doesn't heat up the metal , you can grab the metal as soon as your done cutting and its not hot . That's where the name comes from ,, cold cut saw

@@FishinNStuff thanks man. I have a cutoff saw with the abrasive blade and was wondering if I could get one of these blades for it. Found just the blades on Amazon in various sizes but I think the arbor hole is to large on those blades and my saw is probably to high of rpm. Good videos. Subscribed
Thank you for subscribing I appreciate that it helps me a lot , I think the abrasive saws turn to many RPMs for those blades any way but I would check into it more if I were you . I wouldn't want you to get help brother for just over twice what the blade cost you can buy a saw with a blade on it i'l go look for it

How did you slot that tube?
I didn't the weld will fill it in
I didn't the weld will fill it in
Yep from nc
What part you from
Wish I could buy this same exact type somewhere, but with adjustable angle for the top portion, and a foot bar (with angled support member) for stomping into the ground. I've been looking for years. I eventually found/bought one on eBay. The seller had bought it from a random estate sale, so no origin story and no hope for me buying more. Later my research lead me to bribe a distant tackle shop into sending me three of their custom version, but their metal stock was all round and comparatively thin and flimsy. Those cheapo ones wobble a lot, plus no foot bar was included. ...plus there's no hint of crucial upward radius in the reel cradle behind the reel. Just precarious flatness behind the reel. (If the rod gets heavily yanked forward, then naturally rebounds backwards in the wobbly stand, the rod could then slide backwards completely off the stand.) The nice one I bought from eBay has a touch of crucial upturn in the cradle behind the reel, so my Abu Garcia C4 reel stays truly cradled and secure. It so happens on both purchase occasions, the holder(s) I bought were shipped from North Carolina. I've come to understand they're common there, yet apparently nearly impossible to locate for sale by outsiders like me in Indiana. I've still never seen this kind of stand in use anywhere by anyone but me in my state. Completely common in North Carolina, completely unknown in Indiana. My quest will continue until I have 6 of the good kind. 3 for me, 3 for whoever comes fishing with me.
Obviously I can't fabricate stuff, or I'd follow these excellent instructions.
Call the Bass Shack in Shelby NC
I've sent other people there and they will ship em
you buy these at pay lakes for carp fishing in nc virginia gerogia floridia west virginia
Yeah i know a few states have em . Back when I carp fished they were only in NC . 30 years ago
The bass shack sells thousands of these a year and nails them also.
I shop at the bass shack too lol Charlie is a buddy . These have been around ( in NC ) 35 years or more . I had a set back when I was 18 before the bass shack even sold em lol it's a small world ain't it
Fishin N Stuff yeah. I’m from ky. I got the ones that are adjustable sent to me.
I was thinking about doing a DIY on the adjustable ones too , I saw some for sale at the CatCom last year . I received my first set of these reel cup rodholders (that's what we called em ) 32 years ago when I was 18 and they were old and wore out when I hit em lol . They been around a long time . Even before bas shack started selling em . I bought lots of from there but they sell em every where in NC my first set was sold stock , the square tubing is a lot lighter . I've owned about probably 25 too 30 of these stands but I like the one i made in this DIY the best . Most ppl bend the cups i used a pipe and made them about 3/4 off an inch wide moist the ones you buy have thin cups on em
Where in NC are you from?
I live in Kings Mountain NC , I'm from Gastonia NC

Call em carp stands or paylake stand here in NC and upstate SC
Your right I used em first 30 years ago carp fishing , but now I use em any time I fish off any bank .
They beat the heck out of the old bicycle stands we used in the 70s causing at Mountain Island haha
Mountain island, lake lookout below the dam, and every carp pond around lol and heck yeah I remember a piece of rebar and a bike rim cut in half lol
@@FishinNStuff you should make a video on how to make adjustable stands as well
That's a great idea brother I was already thinking about that lol , I guess great minds think alike lol . I use those too , honestly I was waiting to see how this video did with ppl . I boat fish most the time now days but still have a place in my heart for bank fishing . I just figured it would help some ppl if the were catching monster on the Tennessee river and stuff like that . Any ideas you have are always welcome brother and I appreciate your comment it confirmed im thinking right lol

What gauge of 1/2x1/2 are you using?
I'm not totally sure it was all they sold . I really think any gauge would work . I would say without looking at it cause I'm at work right now it's about 1/16 of an inch thick . It's pretty strong , overkill practically but if it was thinner it would be harder to weld
