The question is whether they all have the bandwidth to do a lot together, because several of them already have multiple gigs. Super band. And did you notice, Ayasa is playing a 5-string violin!
Mizuki!!!! ❤❤❤ Amazing drummer!!! She hits those drums 🥁 like they tried to steal her boyfriend!!!! I call Mizuki my "THUNDER GODDESS"!!!!!!! I LOVE ALL the Ladies of East of Eden!!!! The chemistry between them is obvious!!!!! They are all so talented individually but 2gether they are NEXT LEVEL!!!!!!
They are a brilliant new Japanese band and I love the way the Bass player moves around. I really hope this band continues for a long time. Japan has the best bands.
Amo see them at Zepp DiverCity in Oct. Lovebites and Band-Maid connections with EoE: Mao Yamamoto, who's often worked with LB, and MV director Naoki Takeyama, who directs LBs' vdos, were involved in "Evolve". Violinist Ayasa and Asami of LB are buddies and have often worked together, most recently both backing a J-Pop singer on tour earlier in the summer. Guitarist Yuki's sister is married to a Japanese recording engineer based in New York and he did the sound engineering for B-M Miku and Saiki's vocals in "The Dragon Cries". Vocalist Akane was in the group Predia, who were with the same management agency as Band-Maid, and B-M did some shows with them over the years; also Akane was in the Mochi to Cheese side project with B-M's Akane and Kanami.
@@CaffeineNightOwl Yeah Wakazaemon did some live gigs with Daisuke and Tamu too. At the Roland (instrument maker) Players Summit last October Wakazaemon and Tamu and violinist Ayasa were part of the special session band.
@@danhague9442 It'll be interesting to see how much original material is played at the show. I would guess mostly covers of famous Western and Japanese bands, and also from EoE's members' personal or other bands' discographies. Ayasa just played a show with Yuki's band D_Drive-maybe some of their songs. Likely to be many fans of Ayasa at the DiverCity show, from her work with J-Pop stars and with Morfonica, one of the bands of the popular BanG Dream anime/game franchise. But Ayasa has said that with EoE she's aiming for the overseas market, so there should be harder stuff than anime-rock. Short answer: Don't know.
@@otobokegaijin6218 In any case, it is exciting to be completely surprised. My guess would be, besides what you mention, songs like Shinjidai, Gurenge and Zankyosanka, the most powerful cover songs from Akane's solo repertoire. Her English is non-existent, she never does that, so I assume not this time either. Either way, it's sure to be a lot of fun. Enjoy it!
Good reaction man. I really like this band and this track. The violin and vocals are sooo goood! They are all seasoned professionals. According to the website it was the violinist that formed the band and is the leader. "Violinist Ayasa has been gathered around by five renowned female musicians with a passionate request from herself" Of course they have the fabulous Yuki from D_Drive on guitar, how could you go wrong having her as a member of your band. Wakazaemon(Bass)has not long ago finished as the touring bassist for Marty Friedman P.S. Akane Minato the vocalist was a member of Mochi to Cheese at the same time as Akane and Kanami from Band-Maid
Here are the members: Yuki (Gt) from D_Drive, instrumental HR/HM band you NEED to check out. Ayasa (Violin) from Morfonica iirc also played with Lonesome_Blue Mizuki (Dr) from Lonesome_Blue Wakazaemon (Ba) was recruited by Marty Friedman to play bass during his tour Akane (Vo) ex Predia (idol band) was also in Mochi to Cheese with Akane and Kanami from Band-Maid Only song by them so far, this band was just put together by Ayasa. The band will have a show at Zepp Divercity in Tokyo in October. I'd pay good money to be there 😅
I only knew of Wakazaemon, the bass player. She is an excellent session guitarist and in big demand. She is a very busy girl. Of note she played in the Maximum the Hormone project band called Colonanamolemomo, just toured in Marty Friedmans band. She also played in Daisuke Kurosawa's X-Japan project covering Rusty nail with Murata Tamu from Nemophila. One of the best covers of that song. She s a fantastic bass player. The band East of Eden are playing their first concert in Tokyo early October and it was sold out about two weeks ago.

Find a way to keep this going, Ladies. With Yuki still in D-Drive, and Mizuki still in the (currently on hiatus -- thanks Narumi) Lonesome Blue, this may be difficult, but you ladies need to find a way to make it happen. This is too good to be a "one-off".
Since none of us can be full-time companions of our favorite Japanese bands (or Western bands, for that matter), we are forced to rely on the media for relevant information. I read a translated Japanese article less than a month ago that said that Narumi chose to leave Lonesome Blue (for undisclosed reasons) BEFORE their hiatus was announced (thereby opening the door for Mizuki to sit-in with East of Eden). {Narumi does have a bit of a historical pattern of "nest hopping". However, I will give her credit for staying with her dyed "red" (almost magenta) hair since her time in Destrose -- she knows what she wants}. In another example of the aftermentioned "slave to the press" phenomenon, I've read one article in the past three years that said that Yui left Telecide first, then Natusumi left (to join Bridear), THEN the band announced their hiatus, leading to their subsequent disbanding. I've read two articles that assert the reverse order for who left first (but both say that the hiatus/break-up occurred AFTER the two women left). Recently, I just read a fourth article that said Yui left first (for reasons not disclosed), and that Natsumi was still a member when the hiatus/break-up was announced, and only went to Bridear when she no longer had a job with Telecide. (This last version of events is consistent with Telecide's last-published press photos. Slaves to the press, indeed. Fun, fun, fun!@@buccanero
In what i am about to say, I'm not being snarky -- I'm entirely serious. I was looking at stills from various points in Narumi's career. In each, she has the same exasperated -- almost depressed -- look. The facial expression and body language are remarkably identical. Is this a look that she has created for herself? What impression is she actually trying to convey?@@buccanero
I am with you with that, Yuki is a marvelous guitarist. Saying that all the other members are so good. Got a particular fondness for Wakazaemon(Bass)who has not long ago finished as the touring bassist for Marty Friedman
Akane Minato was the main vocalist in the idol group Predia for eleven years before they disbanded in 2022. It's amazing seeing her in this group, because she's finally unleashed to perform at her full potential as an artist.
Solid song and solid band so much potential here, man…if Japan keeps pumping out bands like they are I’m going to be bankrupt lol p.s. LOVEBITES is dropping a new official video for Liar (live at K.A.H.G.) today
Wakazaemon (with Marty Friedman on Tour) on bass drive the whole song. Great Composition... Great Transitions and Keychanges and Tempo. This is a master peace. Violin, Vocals, Drums and Guitar outstanding too.... One can say: SUPER GROUP - By the way ..... one of best reactions. Looks you know about music on contrast to so much dumb guys making reaction. Thanks.
First time I heard this song, I was a bit put off by the vocals but second time around it sounds better, somewhat similar in tone to Lonesome Blue. I have no issues with a violin (I love Jill) but her style of playing the violin doesn't resonate well with me. She has some tendency to slide a note that just doesn't work for me, and maybe just her violin tone, even when she played with LB. Yuki is just Yuki, one of the best guitarists out there. Gonna take some time with this one.
Yep, just one song and they are already blowing up. This girls are phenomenal and if nothing change another great band that wil join the wave with strength like Hanabie has done in 2023. The band is new but not the women who form it, each of them bring an established fanbase already. The least famous are probably the drummer and the singer. As you said the drummer has been in Lonesome Blue but she is still entering the scene, the singer is phenomenal but until now she had just being around the idol scene and having some TV appearances where it seems she recently won a singing contest. But the other three are very known in the scene and with a strong career already on their backs. *Yuki* has been one of the earliest faces in the rock scene, leading and playing guitar in the band D-Drive since 2009 and being their most recognizable face. *wakazaemon* is also a very popular face. Strong bass career where she has even toured around the world doing bass for Marty Friedman, she is lately known as the bassist of Cottelee, an officially endorsed cover band for Maximum the Hormone, that's a pretty big deal. They have a cover on mth official channel from this summer already on 3 million views and waka is close to the 100k followers on her socials. And *Ayasa,* who is the leader, founder and producer of the band has both a strong solo career as a violinist where she became pretty popular on her own some years ago, and lately she had been close to the metal scene, doing violin for one of the Bang Dream bands, Morfonica. She is also close to the metal scene because she is close friends with asami, yeah, that asami. And the song is written by *mao,* same guy who does a lot of the songs in Lovebites (Holy War, Judgement Day, etc.). The track makes more sense knowing that right?
If EoE keeps going, they'll be one of those bands where it's impossible to catch everything on the first listen because they're ALL amazing. Great track. REALLY impressive! Thanks much, Joel! 🕊
Great song. Unlucky Morpheus vibes for sure, but I enjoy this singer more than Fuki. Fuki can sound very shrill to my ears, especially when she goes for those upper registers. I hope these ladies stick around as a group for a while and this isn't just a side project for them.
Everyone has opinions. I personally think that Akane is an amazing vocalist with a lot of power and emotion expressed through her voice. If you don't mind sharing, what is it about her voice/vocal delivery that you don't like?
