How to go trekking in Nepal 🇳🇵(spontaneously on a budget)

- Here's how I went trekking in Nepal - I booked the flights pretty spontaneously and visited between September - November last year. There are so many amazing treks to choose from in this beautiful country and it is the ULTIMATE place to get out there in the mountains! The people, the landscapes and the culture make it so special. We spent about £300 on a two week trek per person and that included all our food and all our accommodation (the food is a bit more expensive in the mountains than in the cities). Enjoy this wonderful place!
Step 1 Buy Travel Insurance!
Actually YES! We should have said this. A helicopter off the mountain will cost ££££ travel insurance is a must for trekking in Nepal
luckily I survived without having a porter, guide and insurance….
did the classic trail jiri - ebc….
@@wonderlustesm8880I thought it was required to have a guide now?
If you are tide on budget dont buy clothes in thamel too it is way more expensive than normal there 🙏
@@nitrosnw best will be meet with someone local tell him/her to take you shopping place like bouddha, newroad have combination of both expensive and affordable things
My pleasures if you need any help during your stay in Nepal I would be glad to help you
@@nitrosnw yes a professional helpful guide is a must. As they charge tourist way more than average nepalese. You can get away with cheaper holiday if your guide can suggest local prices.
I would say a loyal friendly guide or a Nepali friend can be good for your budget treks
New law means you must take an approved guide on all treks.
People are nicer too..i know coz i am them
do not buy gear in thamel unless you want it to be all fake, genuine stuff is considerably cheaper in western countries
how much was the camping gear? would love to know the total coast
im guide can i help you
It was brilliant following your Nepal trek.
Thank you for Including me in this Video....while you came in NTB....💐🇳🇵
Also, stretch first and during. Have someone you trust on the ready to call for search n rescue if you don't check in. Have an emergency location beacon on you. Research how much water you should be consuming for the conditions and test your gear before going on the long trek!
Welcome to Nepal 🖤❤️💜🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
स्वागत छ
Everybody has to take a guide now😢
Did you miss Dal Bhat?? Have u tried in UK?
We do miss it, we haven’t found dal bhat in the UK, but we did go to a Nepalese restaurant two days ago, yum yum yum
@@LostInTransit when r u thinking of coming back
Step one: Sign up with Elite Exped and just sign on the dotted line. All you have to worry about is your bank roll and transportation to Kathmandu
Namaste 🙏
👌👌👌👌perfect but not completed
Free hundred pounds?
Yeah if I remember correctly we each spent £300 (GBP) over two weeks. This price includes all our accommodation and food in this time
I see what you did there

Thanks for visit NEPAL❤❤❤LOTS of LOVE❤
My anxiety level when she booked a flight to Kathmandu 🙂📈
Wow thank you ❤
Come to my land
Best statement ever...."there's no ATMs out there in the mounta8ns"
#18. Remember to cover yourself in leeches and cry when your boyfriend larfs at you which will divide your audience into people who have no sense of humour and everyone else who found it hilarious.
😂
Buy your shoes well beforehand and break them in! Or blisters will ruin your hike!
us third world country visa holders could NEVER 😅😅
I’m planning on visiting Nepal at the end of the year, when starting my around the world tour. This video is helpful, because it feels like there is a lack of information regarding cost and things when trying to trek to base camp.
What is this with shorts? Why are all the good channels (and yours id one of the best 🥰) churning out short videos all of a sudden? Do YT offer some sort of incentive?? Not moaning, just curious and know that Lost In Transit will give a straight answer.
Haha, thank you 😊
UA-cam wants to become "The" platform for short form content, so to encourage people they are really pushing short form content. This means you can grow a lot faster. Also they have recently made it so you can earn money from shorts.
For us it lines up quite nicely for us because I (Tom) edit the longer videos and Isabel often finds herself twiddling her thumbs, so she will be doing the shorts and I will stick to the normal ones.
@@LostInTransit Good to know thanks - and I can see David111's concerns after you two have really developed a great long form style.
I do worry about you both though, as the constant work for content must be hard. If you were worried, I think you could probably take some time between "series" to avoid burnout and we'd all be here later.

Actually thamel is expensive buy in other areas
Lots of Love from Nepal. ❤️💐👏👏👏🙏🙏
How much cash did you need on the trek?
when are you guys coming back ??? :(
Ahahhh the local bus…
The old vomit comet
still miss your trek videos :(
WE actually have to thank you for not only loving nepal but also for spreading so much positiveness and motivation from your videos. Really appreciate your work🙏❤
By Tim’s card do you mean a Tim Horton’s gift card?
Wouldn’t dream of going up a Nepalese mountain without it!
I’m not sure of the actual acronym, but it’s basically a pass for the national parks.
Haru bottle 😂 the poor grandpa was asking for some money
Very much helpful
Super
VERY TIGHT BUDGET 😂
IAM from Kathmandu
Love these!
Wow
🙏🙏🙏🇳🇵
First one should go to school so that they learn how to spell names of places
*Accent*
@@sasayunlopchan accent doesn't change names of places
Nepaaal and not Nepol
I guess it kinda depends if you are in the UK or Nepal. The “incorrect” way is just the British pronunciation, like with Chile or Mexico, both are spelt the same in English and their native languages but have different pronunciations. Just different pronunciations in different languages.
@@LostInTransit Country names are supposed to be pronounced the way locals/natives pronounce it.
@shangrila628 not really, that would mean the name of countries in your language doesen't make sense, while it does, i don't see any problem in calling a country with thr name your language describes it, if you ar espeaking that language

This information is completely false!
First off DO NOT go to a travel agent when in Kathmandu, as they will sell you overpriced ‘Tourist’ prices, in some cases take pretty much all your money, if you want to go trekking in Nepal, just go and do it, backpack, supplies, hiking shoes/boots, it really is that simple,
Do not buy package deals, before or when your there, just go and meet people who are doing the same thing.
We didn’t have guilds or porters. We did exactly what you are saying. All we said was you can decide if you want to take a guild or a porter.
Guides are mandatory now starting Apr 1. No more going on your own. You'll have to arrange a guide.
guide is compulsory nowadays ...according to government rule ... if u need a guide dm me
300£ a day is cheap? Okay then I might never visit nepal
NO! £300 for two weeks
@@LostInTransit okay that’s a totally different story 😂 that’s awesome
