Great Photography and well put together. Congrats on your Accomplishment. I am going Oct 1-14th so this Vlog was extremely helpful. Many Thanks and I look forward to seeing more of your Travels.
Thank you that means a lot to me! It took so long to edit with that many days' worth of footage 😅 so excited for you to go in October! Hopefully it'll be way warmer for you 🙏
I’ve done the same trip in march this year. When watching yours it all comes back. I even got a little emotional.. It’s an incredible experience that you’ll never forget! Thanks for sharing! ❤
That was a really good video that you made of your EBC Trek. I did that trek in late March early April of 2000. Yes, a long time ago now. A lot has changed since then. First, it was a dirt landing strip at Lukla. Still an awesome flight. Second, guides were not required as I heard they are now. We travelled in a group of four. One difference that we did was because we were independent we stayed two days in Namche and also two days in Pheriche on the way up. I think that this helped a lot in the acclimatation process. We also stayed the night in Dugla or Thukla and then went to Lobuche. The next day we went up Kala Pattar and back to Lobuche. The next day we went to EBC and returned to Lobuche. On the way down we stopped in Dingboche and the next day walked all the way to Namche. We did not have the snow and rain like you had at all except for one day going from around Tengboche down to Namche. Oh, and that day from Namche to Tengboche was hard. I wasn't expecting that. Other great treks are Annapurna Base Camp and the Annapurna circuit. Lantang is really nice too. I did those back in the 90's.
My wife and I spent time in Nepal working with Global Village, Habitat for Humanity. It was an amazing experience! At the end, we went to Pokhara and did a trek. No two steps are the same, and going down was just about as hard as going up! The views of Annapurna and the Himalaya’s were breathtaking! We had much better weather than you, it was November. Thanks for sharing your amazing journey! Paul and Nancy. (Worked with Laura at PSA/USAirways)
wow that sounds like such a rewarding trip!! we did have some tough weather! The Himalayas are certainly breathtaking 😍 The Annapurna Circuit might be something we look into doing in the future
Thanks for taking us on your trek and for sharing a beautiful journey. It felt as if I were there. The views, the mountains, everything is incredibly stunning. Inspirational. 🙏 🙌🙂
That was so cool. I have watched a lot of footage about Mt. Everest, but not any on hiking to base camp. Thank you for sharing your journey. I felt like I was there with you all.
It's amazing to me the people that try this trek and have little experience at altitudes or cold weather. It would seem to me that if you want to be successful you must train for it. Beautiful video and I'm actually in training now for a Nov 2025 base camp trek.
I just watched this, and thank you! You have done an amazing job showing us exactly what this trek is like! I have heard so many stories over the years about the hike up Everest but nothing that tells you what simply getting to base camp entails. This video was so informative and even over a screen, the beauty was stunning. I can only imagine how unbelievable it is in person. I have never wanted to do this, but I still appreciate those who have that wanderlust to explore. Thanks for sharing!!
Enjoyed your video. Like how you kept it real and when it sucked, you said so lol but also the good times as well. The sunrise hike kinda looked just ok ? Hopefully your MIL is ok ? I’ve seen Everest but from the Tibetan side. Was a great memory and thankfully it was clear for that hour or so. Thanks again for filming
That’s awesome, I’d love to get to see it from a different perspective. Sunrise was awesome, me freezing probably didn’t help with getting enough footage haha. However sunset would be better if it’s clear, then the sun would shine on it instead of behind it. Mil is good, once she went down to a lower altitude her symptoms went away🫶🏽
I really enjoyed watching this and now feel inspired to go as well! I hope the in-laws we’re safe and well when you got back, and everything turned out fine Thanks for posting
Hey guys…Thank u for sharing your amazing experience. Well edited & stunning footage. I am doing the EBC & 3 passes starting Nov 15 so managed to pick up some more visual pointers from your vid . So sad to see your in-laws having to be heli-rescued especially as I though yr mum in law was doing quiet well..always a smile & happy disposition but may I ask which insurance company did u use.? Also with her treatment in Kathmandu was there any dramas with the insurance. Thank u once again…😁
Absolutely fantastic vlog! Everest base camp is on my bucket list especially now that I’ve been diagnosed with early onset knee osteoarthritis. Could you please make a video of how you trained for this hike, diet, exercise, etc. Many thanks in advance!
This is inspirational. I’ve always been fascinated and starry eyed with Everest. I want to do the base camp Trek. I’m interested in your comment about Patagonia given the recent crowds at Everest.
I went to Patagonia (The W Trek) in Jan of 2016 and it was way less crowded than Everest. Absolutely beautiful & not as difficult. I'm not sure how it compares today, but because it's not as well known, perhaps it's still not as crowded.
Thanks for the great video. I'm heading there April next year. I was suppose to be there April 1st this year, but l fractured my back and skull, so l'm giving it time to recover. I'll be 61 when l trek to Base Camp year, so l need to get it done ASAP.
At 74 this trek is beyond me! However, I would have loved to do what you guys did. I have no desire to Climb Everest; but, would love to see the sights you saw!!! Thanks for the Tour!
Your positive attitude and beautiful scenery made this a very enjoyable video. It is unusual to see someone making this trek early in the year and unfortunate that your parents were not able to go all the way. Hope mom recovered easily. Wish your vlog had been longer - maybe your next one will be. Thanks for sharing.
@skoolie. And they just flew in! I walked in from Jiri for the Millennium. Was on the way back and stayed in Namche for Millennium New year's Eve. Seems hardly anyone does the original hike in from Jiri anymore. Flying in to Lukla and walking in from there is big business now. It was already getting too busy in 1999/2000. It must be like a circus now😥
WOW! What an adventure and a beautiful video you made. It was very detailed and well documented. It made me feel like going on this trek. Seems doable. Can I have an emailid I can write to for more information. I wNt to know the most difficult part of the trek. Is it rocky in part of the route? It will be great to get Distances between stops and the hours taken to complete each segment.. many more questions if I have to do it so an email will best. Thanks. Swaroop

@boronda420-7
It's all about you ,it's about you
It's all about you, baby it's all about
It's all about you ,it's about you
It's all about you
Yesterday, you asked me something I thought you knew
So I told you with a smile, "It's all about you"
Then you whispered in my ear and you told me too
Said, "You make my life worthwhile, it's all about you"
And I would answer all your wishes
If you asked me to
But if you deny me one of your kisses
Don't know what I'd do
So hold me close and say three words, like you used to do
Dancing on the kitchen tiles
It's all about you, yeah
And I would answer all your wishes
If you asked me to
But if you deny me one of your kisses
Don't know what I'd do
So hold me close and say three words, like you used to do
Dancing on the kitchen tiles
Yes, you make my life worthwhile
So I told you with a smile
It's all about you
It's all about you , it's about you
It's all about you, baby , it's all about
It's all about you , it's about you
It's all about you, baby
It's all about you , it's about you
