i swear this channel needs to grow ! 😍
Just found your channel, just picked up a ukelele today after hearing your simple and clean lesson and I can't wait to see what you release next!😄
Thank you so much! I've been strumming my uke with my pointer and thumb, directly on the nail. It's great if I just want to play, but way too loud to sing with. Now I know how to properly strum with my pointer finger!
Omg thank you so much... I used to use a pick but it didn’t sound like I wanted and now I know to do it right 😁😁
WAY TOO UNDERRATED UA-camR
SO HELPFUL THX
EXPLAINATION IS MARVELLOUS THAT EVEN BEGGINERS CAN UNDERSTAND
Thank chu some much I have learned more than before I luv it!
Fantastic lesson 👍! I just begun playing ukulele and have many things to learn so I am very glad I found your lessons on UA-cam! Thank you 💐!
this video is very nice 😍 I'm having a hard time for playing my uku for almost 2mos. because i don't know how or where to start. but this video help me a lot thanks to you 😊💖 hoping more videos to upload
That was great! I never saw a channel that talks about how and where to strum and to hit all the pitches. I guess they think you know.
Thanks Cory it’s Joell by the way and I am practicing ukulele:)
You’ll be rocking that unit 1 in no time!
Wow
Thanks ^^ i already got a lot better at strumming but this still helps ^^ I played for about two weeks now and I actually get better quite fast, thanks to all the good tutorials there are ^^
Edit: It's quite hard for me in general though because I'm lefthanded but use a Ukulele for right handed people because there are almost none for lefthanded people...
I’m glad that this are already going better for you! And it’s true there aren’t a ton of lefty’s out there. Even amongst my left handed guitar and bass player friends, they almost have all learned how to play right handed. You can do it!!
@@CoryTeachesMusic thank you :)
@@CoryTeachesMusic Do they make ukes for the left hand?
I love how you teach? However I am not sure how to see your videos in order. Which is the video that teaches strumming patterns after this one that you mention?
This is very helpful!! thanks i hope this community grow
is there a better way to support the uke?? the body of the uke always slides when i play
You could get a strap and that will help, otherwise, make it your focus to work on your thumb strength when changing chords. That is often where the sliding happens.
How do I find the previous video that you mentioned.
Hello! I recently bought a ukulele and I was having trouble with the strumming. At first, only my thumb felt comfortable but when I started to try to strum (the DD UDU pattern) I started using my pointer finger alone, then a side of my finger swole a little and started hurting. Could you please tell me how I can fix that?
Also, I love your channel, it's really helpful and even though it's only been 3 days since I got my ukulele, I've already been somewhat picking up songs thanks to you.💗
Hi! The side of your finger hurting is pretty normal. This is probably due to over playing. I would recommend cutting back on playing time to about 5-10 minutes everyday for the first week or so until you build up strength. Your fingers will stop hurting over time :) you can do this!!
Up strum is so much harder for me than down strumming
I still can’t get it right :(
Practice a little bit everyday and you will get it! 5-10 minutes a day :)
I always tear my nails regardless which finger I use..😂 I usually use my middle finger to strum
Do you keep your nails long? While longer nails are helpful for picking they can definitely break when strumming. Some guitarists will put protective nail coating on their nails to prevent that. It’s just a clear coat that help to prevent breakage.
@@CoryTeachesMusic Ah... I see... Yes. I do hv slightly long nails. If I cut them too short (like almost to the nail bed) it'll get detached from the bed and bleed... Thanks for your advice.....💕 It's really helpful.
I only have a guitar so I don’t. Know why I’m here
