      Not a huge fan either of E chord :) Plus I think E7 sounds more "mandoliny" than E which is a good thing for this song :D

    It took me a while to figure out what threw me off, but;
    It seems you hold E7 instead of going to C, on the "ooh ooh" part of the song.
    This kept making me feel off tune every time I sang along. :')

    • @CoryTeachesMusic
      @CoryTeachesMusic  3 роки тому

      Hi! If you are referring to the chorus part, you should be playing an Am over the “oh, oh” part. If you could can you time stamp where you are talking about in the song if it’s not that part that would be helpful so I can know exactly what you mean. Thanks!

      @@CoryTeachesMusic Oh hi, thanks for responding! :D
      It was at 9:46 where I noticed you hold Am while there was a big C under 'ooh ooh'. I probably misinterpreted the scroll, because I can follow along pretty well by just listening and looking at your hands. I think I mixed up which chord bar goes with which lyric line. Sorry. ;-)

    • @CoryTeachesMusic
      @CoryTeachesMusic  3 роки тому

      @@S0K0N0MI Ah! Yes, with lead sheets, the chord you should play is always located above the words, not under. And please, never be sorry for asking a question or bringing up a concern. I'm always happy to clarify :) Also, I totally make mistakes all of the time lol, so it is always a possibility that I put something in there wrong too lol

    Correctly written it is Am7, A- or A minor 7... the way shown in this video implies different chords than heard. And “A major 7” is not what is shown, the chord heard is literally A minor with a major 7. Please can you learn theory before putting theory in your videos...?

    • @CoryTeachesMusic
      @CoryTeachesMusic  3 роки тому

      Hi. So they don’t imply different chords. They are just written differently. I will admit that my diagram for the “A7 minor” should be written “A minor 7” but that is splitting hairs and I do it for a specific purpose with beginners in mind. The lead sheet/play along denotes the chords correctly. I would say that you were kinda rude with your comment, but I understand being right is very important to some people. Luckily for you, you seem to know a lot about music so you probably don’t need my tutorials to help you so that’s great for you! If you ever decide you would like assistance with ukulele, feel free to use my videos and if not that’s okay too. Best to you! I would also say, I do plan on remaking the chord diagrams so they are more accurate rather than being for “beginners” so thanks for pointing that one out for me too!

    • @nat1baby
      @nat1baby 3 роки тому

      @@CoryTeachesMusic I’m sorry if you think it’s rude to ask you to learn Theory if you’re posting public videos and giving wrong Theory. I’d personally say that is also splitting hairs as we could go through the diagrams for most of these chords and correct them.
      You’ve clearly taken a lot of tim to try to teach people, all I am suggesting is you take some of that time to brush up on your knowledge as any good teacher should want to be teaching people correctly.
      I am a trained musician but am teaching myself Uke, surely as a UA-cam poster you should expect people of all levels of music to be able to see and voice their opinions freely?
      I don’t think reply’s like “being right is very important to some people” help anyone from any positive perspective tbh. Basically there is a difference between negativity and constructive criticism. Asking you to learn the theory you’re trying to teach is not negativity if you act on it positively.

    • @CoryTeachesMusic

      @@nat1baby Hi! I don't have any problem with you pointing out mistakes. Many people have done this before and I am always happy to accept feedback and make any corrections as needed, in fact, I encourage it! My issue is that your comment was rude and pointing out the mistake would have sufficed--not insinuating that I didn't know what I was doing when I made a conscious choice to present that chord in the matter. Maybe it was the wrong choice, but the point is I can't change the video now. Constructive criticism would have been just letting me know, negativity was you saying "Please can you learn theory before putting theory in your videos...?". That is rude. I took YOUR feedback and I told you I will be fixing the diagrams in the future. Now take MINE when I say your approach was wrong. Feedback is a two-way street. Best of luck in your journey of learning uke. It's a great instrument and I hope you find success. If that is by using my videos, awesome! If not, that's totally fine too! I only ask if you have other feedback for me on my videos, you let me know in a more courteous manner.

    • @nat1baby
      @nat1baby 3 роки тому

      @@CoryTeachesMusic Im sorry, but it’s not rude and I don’t want to repeat what I said above about public platforms and teaching. I said please. If you don’t like what I was asking then understand that is part and parcel of giving wrong information publicly. You could have just not taken offence and accepted my comment. If you can’t change your videos then redo them with the correct information after you’ve learned it maybe?
      And I am sorry if now this has turned a bit sour, but you should understand how insulting it is to see people call a spade a shovel if you’re a gardener.

    • @CoryTeachesMusic
      @CoryTeachesMusic  3 роки тому

      @@nat1baby Again, I had no issues with you bringing up the error, it was the way you did it. The only mistake that is present is the flipping of the chord title. Everything else is correct. So no, I'm not going to remake the video. It's a lot of work. There is really no difference between calling it A7 minor and A minor 7, besides the superficial. If it is that much of a bother, I encourage you to find another video. I have offered you tools to use in the video so use them if you want or continue to be upset over something very small. Either way, I've done all I can for you. I see things that are wrong on channels far larger than mine all the time, but I don't make a big stink about it. If you are going to go through music tutorials and point out all of the issues with them, you'll have your work cut out for you. You probably don't even want to know how most theory is presented in schools these days, because it's in a version that is theory-wise wrong (like don't even get me started on meter and time signatures!), but presented to get people playing and making music as fast as possible. That is the goal, to play, not to nitpick over theory technicalities. I understand that is clearly a difference of perspective between you and me. Either way, I am done with the conversation. Have a nice day and don't forget to toss a coin to your local Witcher!
