The tutorials i've found before this one were all super complicated, and with a heavy heart I told her: "I'm not sure I'll ever be good enough to play that on the ukulele". But this one is right at my level and easy to learn. :) I sent my friend a recording of just practicing the finger picking part and she texted back that she got goosebumps from it. SO YAY. :)

This request might be a bit ancient for today but could you make a tutorial for Stephanie Mabey’s The Zombie Song please? I’ve found some ukulele covers from years ago but they all too harsh for my taste they sound like guitar playing songs am I making sense? :D I want to make it softer cuter like ukulele song version but I’m too new for this and I’m not skilled at all :D it looks really challenging but maybe you can do it idk I really enjoy your tutorials and you know how to make things easier and how do I say that, you make songs fit perfectly for ukulele so yeah it’s totally fine if you don’t want to do it or don’t have time to do I love your tutorials anyways 💜

It depends on the song and key. G7 actually does occur in a lot of tunes so if you aren’t see it much, it’s likely just the song choice or the key you’re playing in.

If you want to go with the most “ukulele” sound, I’d start with a soprano. If you want something with ab it more versatility, I’d go with a concert. Here is my favorite overall starter ukulele: amzn.to/3nn8gtn. It will last you a long time and a great investment to start your journey out with. Yes, you can get cheaper ones, but they will sound cheaper too.
Yeah. It’s not ideal for sure, but the pitch is the same it’s just down the octave. Otherwise you can use the E string to make the standard tuning G, but that will changing the picking pattern. For G on the E string you’d need to press down on the 3rd fret there but you also need the E for the picking pattern. To get that you’ll have to change the C string to an E. That is the 4th fret.

Yeah it can hurt a bit at first, keep playing a little everyday (no more than 10 minutes) and you’ll get callouses then it gets way easier!

The buzzing can also be because your chording hand isn’t hitting in the fret correctly. Aim for the middle of the fret

I learned the G7 cord first and prefer it. Is there a reason it isn't used more often? It's so much easier to switch to the F.
