Uber/Lyft lie, lie, lie. Driver's are not protesting for fun.
CEO is garbage
It's an app it certainly doesn't need a CEO .
@@matthewthomas7824❓❓❓
Matt Thomas are you foreal internet troll
@@OfficialLeighton. Ok I'll bite. Why?
Uber and lyft was always a side job to earn extra cash. Idk when you clowns decided it was a real job. Get a real job if you're complaining.
I'm a Uber Driver .. and Uber saying that We make $33 hour is Totally Incorrect 💯💯💯 We normally average about $18-$20 an hour and that's not including Gas , Wear and Tear on your Car !!! They have Increased their price on Passengers and Decreased the pay on Drivers !!! So if you're a Uber Driver in California Let's all stand together today and go on Strike for Unfair Wages and Deactivation for Drivers that did nothing Wrong.
Also on the Deactivation the Drivers sometimes get accused of Behavior that is False !!!! Uber does not have a Policy that if someone accused you of being Impaired or Under the Influence to go to a Testing Sight to Prove your Innocence and Allow you to go back to Driving Immediately !!!!
They Deactivate You and With No Remorse don't allow you to Work !!!! People always accuse Drivers when We have done Nothing Wrong !!! That Policy Needs Immediate Attention and Needs to Be Changed !!!!!!
Why continue to work for a company that clearly doesn't care about the drivers?
@@traceejohnson290 I'm retired so to me it's supplemental income and for others it's a full time job .. So I see there Concerns and Unite with them !!!
On a good day I make $30 an hour and I'm a California Uber driver. On a slow day it can be much less but that is the nature of the job.
@@Mac-po1sr Yup .. Very Correct 💯👍💯
@@traceejohnson290that’s the biggest bullshit I have ever heard so far .
According to Uber’s annual report published last week, Uber’s revenue grew 17% last year to over $37 billion. But in the same time period, “Uber drivers’ monthly average gross earnings fell 17.1%.”
In 2022, Uber began using an algorithm to determine a driver's pay for a trip instead of basing the pay solely on time and distance.
The algorithmic pricing has led to an “incredible decrease” in pay for drivers.
That's one reason for today's strike.
Who really would be striking if they really made $33 a hour?
The rate per hour being quoted is wrong, it’s not $30. Uber and Lyft is calculating time from pickup to drop off. Yesterday I made $111 over 12 trips, 200 miles. Uber says I drove 4 hr 29 m or $24 an hour but I worked 8 hours or $13 an hour. IN addition cost per mile is .65, actual fare per mile only covered .55. A fair an honest rate should be 1.25 a mile, which would have paid me $250 or $31 for 8 hours. I am striking in Greenville, Spartenbarg and Anderson market.
Of course not. Uber and lyft lies non stop.
Why still work for them? You would make more working at McDonalds😏
They only include time actually working. I'm a Uber driver and yesterday I made 90 dollars in 3 hours so yea about 30 bucks an hour. I live in L.A though a very busy market.
Nobody can force you to work. If you disagree then why not find another job? Yes I encourage you to protest but if you don't get what you want then find another job.
The reporter didn't get it right. Uber stated that it was $33 per "utilized" hour. Uber didn't specify what they meant, but if I had to guess, it likely means the time from pickup to drop off.
It's not just airports! We are striking everywhere all day.
Happy Valentine's Day ❤
Good luck being broke!
@@NeoSoulCrew are you a driver or a passenger
Why still work for them if pay is so terrible? You would make more working at McDonalds or Walmart and not put miles and wear and tear on your car😏
@@traceejohnson290 some people have disabilities 😞
Drivers are broke driving all day for these companies. It’s so unfair for them to take most of the pay, and the driver is doing all of the work. These companies used these drivers to build their business, and turned around and screwed them.
Uber is a sweat shop. Pays $6 dor 15 mile delivery
Try $6 for 20 miles
Yesterday I got $40 bucks for a 8 mile delivery and that is far from the best I have seen.
@@Mac-po1srthat doesn't happen on every order, stop capping... average order rate is .60 per mile
We dont make $33 an hour, thats a lie. maybe .25 cents a mile.
Lax may be protesting for two hrs but the protest is for all day and night. Drivers don't give in
🤣🤣
My ass $33 hour 😂😂😂😂 you mean like $13 hour 😂😂😂😂
On a good day I make $30 an hour and I'm a California Uber driver.
I started doordash in 2020, I was making great money daily at 18 but it declined drastically, you could pay the company $30 and I'd only get a base pay of $2 + a $5 tip for 10 miles when i'm the one doing to work. They could up the base pay to a minimum $5 and require a tip of no less than $3-5 but also make it depend on the mileage cause remeber, we pay for our gas/tires/wipers+all wear and tear & we deal with all danger from the public
I’m a Uber driver in Connecticut we tried to strike but some of these starving drivers refused to do it. A airport trip was from 50 to 60 dollars now it’s about 32 dollars. They are ripping us off completely.
Uber/Lyft spent MILLIONS to convince drivers to vote against their own best interest - and it worked ☹☹
A friend of mine does Uber Premium SUV. She took a ride. Ride was 150.00 Uber took 100.00 that's 66%
Dara Khosrowshahi CEO of Uber and David Risher CEO of Lyft are Straight Lying
If they are lying about the agreed payout then they would have a class action lawsuit. It would be easy to prove in court
@@johnsmith777lol They've been sued before doing this in the past
@@johnsmith777lolThat will very likely happen and btw, they (U/L) have lost tip and wage theft suits.
They destroyed taxi industry.
my vid s show exactly how uber works and takes advantage of drivers. CEOs claim we make $33 an hour 🤣🤣🤣 try more like $16 average and we still have to pay for expenses. They have the audacity to offer rides that take 30 min and pay $8 ... and hardly anyone tips
Why do you still work for company that you hate and you are putting high mileage and wear and tear on your car? You all are constantly striking and never get what you want.
@@traceejohnson290
I use my Uber passengers to promote my Senior Home Caretaking and Hard Money Lending businesses to.
I work the weekends and position myself in upscale areas to maximize my chances of networking with the right people that might use my services.
This is the best type of advertising I have used so far as it puts me face to face with people and it pays me as well so why not be part of the strike to get even more $$ on top of what Im already making.
I use my channel to try to let other drivers know how to overcome and adapt to these kinds of situations as well.
@@traceejohnson290The beauty is we don’t give up! To many cowards !
@@traceejohnson290 Well isn't that the point? Uber and Lyft are far too big of corporations to just slide by low balling their workers. You know the thing here is that it's easy to say why work there? At the end of the day no company is in the business of taking care of workers they're in the business to make money and it's gonna take some people a group of people to put these corporations on the spot so that it makes it better for the people who work for them now and for the people who will work for them later. It's not rocket science it's no different then a warehouse or what have you they think that since they can get away with it by replacing you in no time with another driver they can keep going on with their terrible pay.
I wonder how do they figure $33 a hour. Is that before Uber takes out their 60% off the top?
I picked up rider she pay $50 to uber. Uber pay me $18 for 35min Drive
I have 1k rides on lyft and both, I make not even 15$ sometimes in an hour... They take 60 to 70% OF THE FAIR, ITS NOT FAIR, QUITTING SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s right, drivers are paid 33 an hour every hour they work. Do you think if that were really the case that they would be happy?
Las Vegas protesting as well... We need need better pay!
They don't make easy to dispute deactivation
riders are NOT satisfied because they tell us.
Lyft forecast gaffe jolts traders, could invite scrutiny, hopefully lands CEO in prison.
I made gross $100,000 last year (they report the entire fare as the drivers income): AFTER what they took I got $40,000 - but after expenses (gas, insurance, mechanic work) & deductions I got about $1,200 NET.
Uber/Lyft Says $33/hr But They Get $19 & the driver gets $14: 19/14!
strike talk is confusing BUT if your numbers are true then >>>>
if should be more like>>>>>Drivers should get $19 and they get $14
Uber deactivated me. Couldnt get through stadium traffic to deliver food. Called told them. Still got deactivated.
Yep.... you can make 30ish per hour IF you get work consistently like that but that's not realistic. They are only paying you from the time you pick up an order until the time you drop one off. The hours you're sitting in your car waiting for them to send you orders are not paid and you typically drive around trying to get another order especially if the market in your area is saturated with other drivers. UberEats not only takes a huge chunk of the money from their own drivers per delivery, they also charge the restaurants on their app 20% per order which makes the restaurants increase the cost of their food to compensate. Uber is greedy af.
Next strike ST Patrick’s day until we are heard
you won the race to the bottom, now you're gonna strike?
Nobody plans on becoming disabled.
That funny , I drive for Uber, my Dad was a custodian for the school distract cleaning pissers, shitters, and vomit. So did I step down or step up? Loser
You have a lot of support, you deserve better! ❤
I read an article with the CEO of Uber saying we under valued our drivers .
It's more like we used them and continue to use them until we are fully automated than we will fire them
Who is making this a full time job ?????? Get your head checked if you do
"I want to be able to work whenever"
-works 60-80 hours a week lol
They tell you the active pay is $33 per hour, but there's more to the story than that. I can go and drive and sit in a parking lot for 2 hours and not get a single good order and i won't be paid anything for that, i will be in the negative due to the gas costs, and plus the active time doesn't count the time it takes to drive back to original location, they are very deceptive people
Same like me bro as an uber & skip driver if the numbers doesn't match, f%$# it, not worth of a drive, I could play games in the parking lot as long there's a decent amount of $$$ incoming
Uber shares hit all time high @$77 a share, if only I get that a day. Prop 22 is no help for California drivers.
Uber to spend 7 billion on a buyback program of their shareholders👍 great news for them Uber drivers earning 30 K a year are very complacent.🙏
engaged hours as in time only counts if you are driving someone or making a delivery
Uber and Lift lies. Most drivers are outraged at how shitty they pay us hard working drivers. We're driving fir less than minimum wage most of the time.
Why continue to work for a company that you all hate? You are putting high mileage, wear and tear on your car for what as you say less than minimum wage. You all always are on strike and nothing is better. You would do better working for Walmart or McDonalds🤔
We would not be striking if paid $33 an hour. We average around $20 an hour Gross Pay.
Uber not being honest with the real per hour rate says it all……
I dont remember people complaining this much when they where paying ridiculous cab faires? Just saying i agree tho pay them more!
Why would Uber care about drivers when they’re planning for 100% autonomous
Why do the media like to repeat companies' lies? Our average rate went down from $1.2 per mile to $0.38 per mile!
You can't be an independent contractor and ask for benefits. Go get a company job if you want then. If you guys keep going the gov. is going to get involved and tien it into the trucking industry. Then you will be sorry
they do not show How much the riders paid for the ride, so I asked riders How much they paid and learned that the drivers get only 30% of the price.
33$ an hour, not including the daily hours of down time, gas, taxes or wear and tear. Also assumes the driver is declining 95% of orders that don't pay 33$ an hour. The FARE should pay 33 dollars an hour, but we are dependent purely on tips, tips are not optional with this service they are required, it should be set up in a way where the fare is paying at least 2 dollars a mile.
From $33 to $22 yeah right I'm been driving for 3 yrs and I barely make $7 an hour and hours of waiting
Their shareholders want returns, and that doesn’t include paying any worker bee more than scraps.
They also don’t seem to have any issues getting new drivers.
Uber and lyft have taken driver's lives.
There is a very important question: How long will the authorities remain silent?
I drive 12 hrs a day. I average $20 an hour. After expense depreciation and taxes I clear $10 an hour before taxes. After tax it's an $8 an hour job. I'm starting my own app
People want to strike for couple of hours and expect results 😂😂😂😂😂
Good luck being broke
I hope for nothing but health for you. If you become disabled I hope this is still available for you
Why would you want to work in a sweatshop?
The strike may need to go longer before the ride sharing will experience an impact.
Who in their right mind would drive for Uber , Lyft and Doordash . How many crimes have been committed against drivers , nationwide . Not comprending your vehicle is for their beneit not yours . The horrible wear and tear on it daily , starting up and shutting down , over and over causes the worst wear , as well , idling .
We make 10$ hr estimate average with tips ...uber takes 88% of our pay
I worked for uber for 3 and 1/2 yes and only got a .10 cent raise at the beginning. Haven't had a raise in 3 and 1/2 yrs while uber has had 4 raises. They lie about the $33 an hour. Nowhere near that!
It was more like protest rather than strike
Who is ultimately going to pay are the millions of riders not the drivers. Uber/Lyft will just run off qualified drivers who will just find better jobs. Then passengers will ride in less safe cars, and with less safe drivers. More horror stories and crimes will happen in Ubers and more accidents. Not to mention Uber has been jacking up the passengers fares too. Good luck to all the people commenting just get another job because that's what the qualified drivers will do, and if you decide to take an Uber have fun with what you are left with.
Satisfied???? $33 per hour!?!? Neither is true, wtf
Stay United for better pay thank you 🙏🏼
About time they stand up to these greedy companies, while these guys are making them billions, they toss these guy's a dime, is ridiculous how nobody stands up to these companies.
I'm only going to tip my drivers cash or cashapp or venmo from now on. 🤔
Atlanta, Did you get your $750 bonus in December for being a Diamond Pro Driver? ya Im in
Dallas and they told me it was a mistake after I called them on it.
The companies keep all the money and leave drivers broke
tell you guys something funny. my friend went for strike. and after back to doing uber😂😂😂
prop 22 screwed everything
They are also stealing tips!!!
thank you
Uber and Lyft should not take more than 15% maximum from what is passenger paying
The driver should not pay for the stakes of Uber and Lyft
Uber and Lift stokes is not responsibly of a drivers
They charge you $99. if you leave a wallet or phone in the car. Driver only gets 15 to return it!! If you throw up or throw food in a car it's $300. Driver only gets $80. That doesn't even cover the cost of the time we are off to clean it. We are missing at least 2 days of work! It has to dry!
It's not $33 per hour!!! It's $13-$20 per hour in Chicago area!!! What is she talking about???
Just start your own service and keep all the dough.. Zanza Bee
Government must tell them to one dollar per km delivery and passenger. They are paying not even 25 cents per km. If these guys lie ask government officials to work with them couples days then they all know much drivers get
Lyft and Uber take average 50% of rider’s fare and as a rider if you are happy with this then you are another kind of animal.
Uber doesn’t care about there driver safety, and they do not pay us a living wage definitely making less than minimum wage, if you’re delivering food
Think about it gas at one point hit seven dollars a gallon yet Uber Lyft all these companies did not compensate the driver for the additional costs. Also remember this Uber drivers have most likely not seen a raise in the last 15 years of any kind. Every politician in the United States should be on top of this. 15 years they’ve been charging and paying us lower and lower and lower. Think about that
Stop complaining. You have a choice. You dont have to do this kind of work. You are self employed, not an employee. Striking/protesting when you have the option to show up to work or not makes no sense. Find another source of income. I drive part time and my only complaint is that I wish it was busier. Oh, and stop complaining about "wear and tear on my vehicle", you have the choice.
They are mobile sweatshops
Sounds like somebody who a little lamb that doesn't know he's being lead to the slaughter, because he's to afraid to use his own mind, so they decided to let their boss control every aspect of their life 40 hours a week, and everyone knows your standard of living, until your boss decides he no longer needs your services, and now people like yourself don't know what to do, because you been told what to do all your life,a Real Man knows how and when to hustle, and I could really keep kicking game to weak men like yourself.

SHUT BOTH APPS DOOOOWN!!!!!!!! LYFT AND UBER ARE 🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️
Theyre lucky Uber even gave them job back in the days it's only yellow cab these guys are big headed now put more taxi in the street these guys will shut up
God bless them, its time for a change, and we need to do something. There's something very wrong, and it's getting worse.
regulations of ridesharing companies are need. And suspend their operating permits
Uber and lyft lies and lies drivers make less than minimum wage. While they make millions of profit charging driver 60 or 70 percent of the rides
I thought channel 11 was KCOP?
Uber should be charged with fraud
Let's go!!! This is WORLDWIDE!
Well , just like in a relationship ; If you are not happy . . . Leave !
Why didn't you interview drivers?
Other drivers are not happy lift an Uber our lying the only reason they don’t go on strike the rest of it’s because they have no choice but to work to pay their bills. The only way change will happen if driver stop running the app for a few months so they can see how we feel when they don’t see any money or income coming their way.
dara and david are trash , zero ethics.

Rideshare drivers are contracted by logistical technology companies.
being a contractor means filling out a 1099 tax form.
What is the 1099 form for?
A 1099 form shows non-employment income, such as income earned by freelancers

On the other hand, a W-2 shows the annual wages or employment income that a taxpayer earned from
a particular employer during the tax year.
