Great when you make good income but that is now too far in between. The best part of the job is no one breathing down your neck. I have been self employed since 2013. I don't like working for Peanuts and have to pay big tax on NMW. Claiming mileage is the biggest bonus.

Uber eats is the worst paid. £3 for 3miles and don't include pickup miles. They are no longer transparent about earnings. Just eat pay fair but they don't give you enough work always. Can't answer for deliveroo. But imagine similar to JE. You cannot make a NMW off of Uber on its own or Just eat on its own. If you do both you can almost make NMW. But you have to work morning, day and night.
The majority of us coped before the days of fast food deliveries... and I still do. They aren't an essential service. If they win, the companies will just increase their delivery costs.

I'm English born and bread pal. You have to go through security checks to get onboarded to uber and the rest. I do this because I had to give up my job during covid as it messed my heart up a bit. You wouldn't see me lift a brick or cut some grass. But I found with delivery driving I can do.
