Your little ones are going to have a blast growing up out in the country. Beautiful piece of land. Having a little pitch and putt will be epic… I’m jealous
Buddy boy, you need to make these episodes half an hour long! I can't get enough. Love the property! I just bought a house on an acre, and have very much the same type of grass as you. Loving the video's. MAKE THEM LONGER!
Get a wee low bed trailer n ramp system. Save your back, save flooding the mowers. Check out the aussie Boys catch pro, check out the iso tunes noise cancelling ear buds. Or send them a link for deals. Trimmer racks equipment racks one trailer all the tools. Save your back, save setup and time. Mostly look after the body. Check out the darwins grip. And yeah that's a steep section. Ask the boys for winch on the gator n towball. Stay safe.
Loving the new property Mate! Looks like the kids are having a ball. Some of my best childhood memories were from living on a farm. Can't wait for the future of your channel!!!
Ben, I’d be out there every day with my blower vac blowing all those leaves 🍁 off my lawn, my OCD wouldn’t handle all those leaves or I’d pay the kiddos to go around and pick them up per bucket full Lol 😂, put them to good 👍🏻 use around the house yard Lol 😂. What are you going to be offering once you get your Airbnb up and running, just never know when I might just come for a visit but definitely Not in Winter 🥶. Cheers from Janelle 😊
Was looking up Casper because I was interested. In the directions for use: Do not apply with equipment carried on the back of the user. Seems like a good product for use in winter otherwise.
Yeah I saw the same instructions and wondered if it was because its a powder, I use Javelin (barmac version of bow and arrow / spearhead) instead but it does have a yellowing effect on some grasses.
I have to spray destiny herbicide 150g per hectare so 1.5g per 100sqm. I use 8 litres on my 100 sqm lawn spraying one direction, I want to spay two directions NS and EW to ensure even coverage, so do I mix 1/2(.75g)of the herbicide into 8 litres for each direction or the full amount(1.5G) for each direction?
Really like to crack on helping you sort out the property, but I’ll just have to offer moral support in the comments. I’m jealous of all the different lawns you’re going to be able to have 🤩
That's ace, mention mulching gear you get it. I mention 'Electric dethatcher' to my lady, she tells me I'm dreamin'!! :-) Keep up the good work!! Love these vids.
would be awesome to get that tow ball on there. i was thinking when you first showed us it if you could do that. when I first used the app with the map measurements it was off a fair bit. i did hand measure and i know it all now and i did check the app and it seems to be spot on.
Great vid on workings out for chemicals for the area. Hectares and ml has been doing my head in when working out litres per sqmtr on these products. But can you explain briefly next time why you went for Casper other than Bow and Arrow. Are there any major differences... Did you also add maxwet as the Surfactant to stick to the leaf?
Looking forward all to come, good luck with it mate, got a question when will you be doing a vid on that onion weed stuff got a shit load that’s come into my lawn this winter.
Hello mate, love the channel. I am not far off putting Tiftuf down in my yard. I have a concrete slab that is getting removed. Is is best to get rid of all the stones underneath the slab and get it to dirt before putting down soil or will some stones under the soil be ok? Cheers
Teaching the little ones to drive at a young age...they'll be tearing up the turf in their little four wheelers very soon, I guess? Then a video on how to fix it! Good thinking :)
Having tough time with real shaded area with golf course green by munns (red fescue, kbg, pen rye) Tried everything.. any tips on what grass works best here and how to get it movin? Only have access to bunnings prods
I’m in a similar boat. I seeded with couch last season and it’s come up brilliantly. I have some lawn sections though that get little to no direct sunlight and are shaded all through the day. Was actually looking at the same product so glad I haven’t bought it yet after reading your comment. Super keen to hear what a suggested solution might be
This could be a stupid question but here goes. Would you use a pgr on some or all of the property? Just seems like you have your work cut out when good weather comes, or an assistant groundskeeper.
Yo mate, what up!? Downloaded that app, awesome! Although you should have waited til the end of the video to plug it - I was having too much fun measuring my lawn and missed the rest of the vid haha
So now is the time to spray for weeds and clover?! Do you use anything later to pull them out after or just continue to mow? I finally got some of the Freehand Pre-Emergent from Bunnings. Just wondering when I throw this in, before trying to put some fresh seed in.
Hey mate, so stoked about your new property. Really exciting stuff. Quick question, will those herbicides tackle oxalis and late season winter grass as well? I’m doing house Reno’s and have been unable to attend to the property and consequently the weeds are pilling up.
If you wanted something to not go brown in winter I’d go for a Kentucky bluegrass and rye mix. Would repair itself and be green all year round. Will require more water though than kikuyu or some couch
You mate wuddup. How should I fill the uneven Kikuyu grass areas, the same you had in your previous property with the truck. I could easily sprain my ankle if I don't sort it out soon. I see you usually use sand, but how would growth happen in the sand?
That’s awesome! The kids must love running around the property with dad. Any chance you can drop a code for first time buyers looking to buy from law tips? Looking to put in a new order for spring. All the best big fella!
Love your work! I have the same clover issue with my lawn but I recently mowed it really short. Would you recommend applying the herbicide now or should I let it grow first? Thank u
Hey mate, watched your video for a fair while now and appreciate the advice, my wife and I have just bought a new house and it has Got a few different types of grasses and a heap of different weeds like clover and crab grass, the oxalis, dandelions etc probably a few more that I don't know lol. I'm unsure what the grass is one side but it is fairly thick green nice and the other I believe is couch grass but again unsure. I'm just wanting to see what you'd recommend to remove all of the weeds and establish some kikuyu without killing everything off. We have clay like base according to everywhere online it said kikuyu is best, we also have horses in other paddocks and cats and dogs that'd be running around on it too, I'd obviously try to separate them until it was dried but just unsure. Hope you can help cheers mate.
You need to calibrate your sprayer by filling it up with water and spraying, walking back and forth at a repeatable pace over your lawn until it is all covered. For example with my sprayer I empty 4.5L over my 100sqm lawn.
How much water do you use when spraying for weeds?.....ive been told as little as possible, like try and do it all in one pass, but saw you did your spray in 2 directions for 2 passes?
G'day legend, thanks for all your guidance and I'm really looking forward to your new property projects! First time lawnman here, I planted TifTuf in autumn and the winter grass has scattered all through over the past month or two. Any recommendations for herbicides?
A pre-emergent program is always best. So applying something like barricade in spring and Autumn. Something like Tribute can help though with the wintergrass or wintergrass killer from bunnings as well
Looking forward to the new property projects!
Whose property is bigger...and more importantly who will be done first?
@@chrisfink1 mine is quite a bit bigger I believe and considering Ben has a house, and a shed, and equipment...we know the answer haha
“We don’t have hectares…. well we do now” Legend.
We don't work in hectares on home lawns; we do now, haha-total flex bro. Enjoy the good life!
Haha unintentional flex 😂
“If you missed my other videos” na mate don’t miss one.
You fake
Your little ones are going to have a blast growing up out in the country. Beautiful piece of land. Having a little pitch and putt will be epic… I’m jealous
How much fun will those kids have growing up there. Good times
By far the best lawn app. Austin is awesome, been using the app for over a year now and he's added tons of things I suggested. Legend.
Your kids are going to love growing up there
Ready to learn from the Kikuyu section...
You need to get a tow behind sprayer for the larger areas, makes it so much faster!
Mow an airstrip, get a crop duster…😉
Buddy boy, you need to make these episodes half an hour long! I can't get enough. Love the property! I just bought a house on an acre, and have very much the same type of grass as you. Loving the video's. MAKE THEM LONGER!
Thanks for the hard work you put into the videos
Oh yeah, love the mid week vids

Should try a bit of buffalo just to show people how to maintain that. Cheers mate!
First Aussie 😁. Another day on the lawn ranch. 🤠
Awesome video mate, quality character aswell!
Well done mate the kids are loving the new property.
That place come autumn is going to be a crazy busy time

Those kids are so lucky..
Loving the new property Mate! Looks like the kids are having a ball. Some of my best childhood memories were from living on a farm. Can't wait for the future of your channel!!!
Kids are definitely loving it! Yeah I was the same mate, exactly why I’ve always wanted to get a property!
The only channel I ring the bell for! Love a Wednesday lawn tip vid

Clean your mower lol. Can't wait to see your first stripes on the new lawn and that golf course renovation happen.
Haha need to do that
That Kikuyu won't know what hit it once you've got it looking smick.
You are an absolute legend. Frothin the content lately mate.
Great vid mate can't wait to see what u do with the cool seasonal grass in shady area.

Your a top bloke mate! Good stuff. How about later on a comparison of petrol vs 2stroke gear for the average man? Just an idea. Have a good one!
Loving it can't wait for summer love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Really like to crack on helping you sort out the property, but I’ll just have to offer moral support in the comments. I’m jealous of all the different lawns you’re going to be able to have 🤩
Haha thanks mate
Have a go at the Gator ute - awesome!
Great way of living. Congrats mate. Love watching the vids
Everything looking great mate! So excited to see how things turn out with your projects!!!

Nothin' like a Lawn tips vid eating dinner
I so can't wait for the day your entire property is a golf course lawn!
You and me both 🤙🏼
A lot of sexy B roll mate... Stimulizer for efficiency and effectiveness. Plus helps soil.💪
Loving these vids mate keep em coming

Looking forward all to come, good luck with it mate, got a question when will you be doing a vid on that onion weed stuff got a shit load that’s come into my lawn this winter.
At some point I definitely will!
Finally I'm on time for some lawn tips.
I will never understand the dislikes on videos like this.. Never.

You can also use Google maps to measure the area - just right click and press measure. Then click away to calculate
Teaching the little ones to drive at a young age...they'll be tearing up the turf in their little four wheelers very soon, I guess? Then a video on how to fix it! Good thinking :)
Best "yo mate" I've seen to date 🤣
Have asleep yo mate? 😂
Another great video my man, loved it as always. I use a chemical called 3D for broadleaf and clover weeds, it works absolute wonders
What a group of troublemakers riding along 😂
It looked as though you dropped those pins on the edge of the other side of the road and so included the road as part of your area calculations?
Nah it was on the left side. The maps just make the road look bigger with that weird opaque border they put on there
I love the videos keep it up

This could be a stupid question but here goes.
Would you use a pgr on some or all of the property? Just seems like you have your work cut out when good weather comes, or an assistant groundskeeper.
Not a silly question at all. I will use it on some areas for sure mate!
Don't waste all that awesome organic matter mate. Hopefully you build a wicked compost area now you have the space.💪
Yo mate, what up!? Downloaded that app, awesome! Although you should have waited til the end of the video to plug it - I was having too much fun measuring my lawn and missed the rest of the vid haha
Haha, you can always go back and watch again 😉
So now is the time to spray for weeds and clover?! Do you use anything later to pull them out after or just continue to mow?
I finally got some of the Freehand Pre-Emergent from Bunnings. Just wondering when I throw this in, before trying to put some fresh seed in.
Have you ever thought about trying to do one lawn without chemicals? Just trying to manage via regular scarifying, vetricutting, mowing etc?
Will be doing one for sure in future
Any reason why u went over the lawn both ways or is that for total coverage? Also where did you get your knapsack boom from? Love that. Cheers
Would that same equation work for sedgehammer or tenacity? For example I got 1ksq, would I use that equation to find out the mix ratio?
Super nice Gator
Hey mate, so stoked about your new property. Really exciting stuff. Quick question, will those herbicides tackle oxalis and late season winter grass as well? I’m doing house Reno’s and have been unable to attend to the property and consequently the weeds are pilling up.
WIll work for oxalis but not wintergrass unfortunately.
What’s the best grass for the central west? Grass that can handle the hot dry summers and the cold, frost etc.
If you wanted something to not go brown in winter I’d go for a Kentucky bluegrass and rye mix. Would repair itself and be green all year round. Will require more water though than kikuyu or some couch
@@LawnTips thanks for your response!! Love the videos !!!

Would be best to do with sand or soil for sure mate! Definitely will grow in sand. We only used to use sand on the golf course!
I always pictured Australia to be all desert but where you’re at looks like eastern USA kinda
First time I've liked before watching
Is there a system or formula you use to know how fast to walk when using the backpack spreader?
You’ll need to calibrate your sprayer. Here is a vid I did ages ago on it: m.ua-cam.com/video/flD8onrjOik/v-deo.html
Living the bloody dream!!
Would you suggest Casper or Bow & Arrow for sir Walter?
Bow and Arrow for sure. Casper would damage it
When are you building a carport for the Gator at the front door mate? #priorities 🤣
😂
That’s awesome! The kids must love running around the property with dad. Any chance you can drop a code for first time buyers looking to buy from law tips? Looking to put in a new order for spring. All the best big fella!
The kids are loving it mate!
Don’t have any codes running currently sorry. I do run sales a few times a year though!
Yeh the Lawn Tips app 😂 👍🏻 still needing to use the missus phone though 😭
Is it springtime yet? Up the kuyu! lets goooooooooo.
Awesome vid, is KleenLawn ok?
Love your work! I have the same clover issue with my lawn but I recently mowed it really short. Would you recommend applying the herbicide now or should I let it grow first? Thank u
I’d wait until the clover grows back out again if you can. You’ll get the best results
ok im sitting here watching Joshog play lawn moving simulator on twitch. you need to do this XD 10/10 stream haha
I’ve purchased it already 😉😉
How long until lawn journal is on the Play store!?
Hey mate, watched your video for a fair while now and appreciate the advice, my wife and I have just bought a new house and it has Got a few different types of grasses and a heap of different weeds like clover and crab grass, the oxalis, dandelions etc probably a few more that I don't know lol. When adding the rate of herbicide required, how do you know how much water to mix it with, I have a 5L sprayer ?
You need to calibrate your sprayer by filling it up with water and spraying, walking back and forth at a repeatable pace over your lawn until it is all covered. For example with my sprayer I empty 4.5L over my 100sqm lawn.
Yeh awesome thanks mate I
New established lawn (Tall Fescue - Less than 4 months old). Reading the Casper label, it’s not recommended. Another suggestion?
The guys that gave you a thumbs down, dont have any lawn
How much water do you use when spraying for weeds?.....ive been told as little as possible, like try and do it all in one pass, but saw you did your spray in 2 directions for 2 passes?
Loving the new property! Just wondering how you work out the amount of water you use to mix in with Casper per 100m2?
If I'm not mistaken it depends on your sprayer and calibration. He has a great calibration vid too
Yeah depends on your calibration. So I use 4L/100m2 of water cause that’s how fast I walk. That’s going two directions to get even coverage.
Someone will have to sponsor you a crop duster so you can do some aerial application.
Maybe attach it to the drone? 😂
Good effort. What nozzles are you using in the solo?
Some red teejet nozzles. I can’t remember the exact model number sorry
G'day legend, thanks for all your guidance and I'm really looking forward to your new property projects!
