    This was one of the best videos I’ve seen for a long time, while I love all your videos, bringing it back to true Lawn Tips that the average lawn lover could use is great too! Keep it up Ben! 👍

      Unfortunately not as many people watch these ones! I also love shooting the other ones, these are good for info but not as fun for me I guess. The plan is to have a mix of both once I get an editor and can shoot more vids 👌🏽

    Great to hear that the glyphosate was so successful on the Kikuyu "grass". You can extend the sprayer boom next time for even better coverage. 😀

    Great vid mate. One thing I've found is there appears to be is no 'go to' weed killer table for common aussie grasses on the net (that I can find anyway - because I look every summer!) So I think there's a real opportunity to make and provide one and become the destination web page for that info for all the punters. Or if anyone has a 'go- to' you use and refer to I'd like to know about it because I'm always searching for that info when the weather warms up..

    Should you spray pre-emergent first then spray post-emergent for weeds just to ensure the pre-emergent is down once the weeds are dead and you’re not getting new ones? You suggested the other way round if I understand correctly? I have Barracade, Monument and Primo Maxx ready to go. I have Wetter 600 too.

    For pre-emergent control of summer grass and poa, is barricade, tenacity or ethofumesate best? In a typical rye/tall fescue NZ lawn.

    Timing of secret mix, broadleaf herbicide and mowing?
    Is it best to wait 7 days after secret mix before applying herbicide?
    Does mowing before or after herbicide application change effectiveness?

    Happy Birthday to Schnitty, first of all. Ben if i seeded some patches in my lawn (warm season couch) this week in qld, and i wanted to apply some green light liquid iron at a reduced rate, will it hurt the seedlings ? Or should i just go over them, with say seasol or lawn porn charger ect ? Really stumped on this 1. That app looks great aswell. Thanks for your help.

    Hey Ben, Loving the channel. Happy Birthday to Schnitty. What would you recommend to kill Wandering jew? Have tried the usual Glypho based but with no success, Have been told may have better results with a Fluroxypyr based product such as Starane. What would you recommend?

    • @jaml
      @jaml 2 роки тому

      Glyphosate at 200mL per 10L in winter and early spring. And add a surfactant! You'll need to do it more than once. Fluroxypyr also works, but most people probably don't have it.
      More information on NSW Weedwise (can't add a link because it keeps deleting my comment!).

    Stoked that propyzamide is registered for use on kik now, coupled with pre-emergent have pretty much eliminated poa (that said it's a pretty fussy herbicide). What is it about kik that makes it so precious - just the rate of growth that means it takes up a lot of whatever you apply?

    Used your turf control with the wet out on my buffalo recently. Buffalo took a hit and went yellow. Hopefully it recovers

    • @LawnTips
      @LawnTips  2 роки тому +1

      Will recover for sure. Yellowing can be for a number of reasons.
      Some include:
      1. Applied more than recommend rate or didn’t use enough water
      2. Super wet lawns
      3. Lawn is stressed
      4. Too hot
      5. Lawn is too young.
      There can be other reasons why but they are the most common.
      Either way, it will come back, herbicide burn grows out, just takes longer this time of year

    Bathurst here… and it’s just as cold…..the WORST weed that I had for the past two years is that summer grass… almost consumed 80% of the front lawn soon after moving in. I’m guessing that Barricade will help …given that the last product was removed from the market. The tall fescue at the front doesn’t get that many weeds..the (what I think is) couch at the back constantly has weeds and winter grass

    • @LawnTips

      @@LawnTips pretty much exactly what you’re describing. Small broad leaf. Knocking them down with some bow and arrow. But just curious as I thought pre emergent would stop them all. Good to know I haven’t done anything wrong haha

    • @LawnTips
      @LawnTips  2 роки тому

      Yeah pre-emergents don’t generally get broadleaf weeds. It’s mostly grassy weeds and few others.
