Mate, started a buffalo lawn reno today, mowed low, then cored it, tried the lawn mower trick to pick up cores but didn’t really work, out came the trusty Stihl Backpack blower and not only did it work faster than a rake, the amount of thatch I got out was amazing, time to fert and top dress tomorrow. Appreciate your great tips, got my sub 1000%

Hey Ben, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been around on UA-cam but just wanted to tell you that Hubby and I were in Orange last weekend for a friend’s birthday party and it was Damm Freezing 🥶 Lol 😂 compared to our Queensland weather, we went to The Wentworth golf club for the party, it’s a lovely town even though it was Cold 🥶, I did do a little shopping 🛍️ Lol 😂, we stayed at the DeRussie hotel. Cheers from Janelle 😊 Oh and the drive down was LONG AND EXHAUSTING, we then went out for dinner with friends that night at a Pub in town, can’t remember the name of it, but we were both So Tired 🥱, left Orange on the Sunday and we’re now in Sydney for hubby to work. 😊

Is it ok to still go ahead with a Reno if you haven’t sprayed out some weeds, winter grass etc? I live in Victoria so clover and winter grass are a pain.
Also, it overseeding, where in the process would you recommend to do this? Love your work.
    Cheers

Ben, did I hear you say that you can use that soil/sand on Buffalo/Sir Walter, I have some dips in my lawn that need some TLC and it’s finally starting to get back to looking pretty good after a couple of years of not having time to put into our lawn like I once did, but now I’m getting back into it and it’s starting to look good again, almost tempted to rip the Buffalo up and replace it with Queensland Couch, but I’ll see how it continues to grow this season before we go down that track. Should have listened to You years ago when I asked for your advice on what type of grass to lay, but got talked out of it by our landscaper 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️.

Hey Ben, I have a quick question. I will be doing a full reno with perennial ryegrass this coming autumn. I plan on tilling the yard due to some pretty severe compaction. I know in one of your videos you mentioned when you did the reno at your old place, you wished you would’ve tilled some sand into the existing soil to help it stay level over time. Is this something I should look into? I am concerned about creating “concrete” as some would say by tilling sand into my clay soil. Any advice would be fantastic thank you!
