8:20 Nailed it Daz. My father (a well respected pharmacist in our area) always told me as I was entering the job world that if I were ever in a hold up situation that the best option was to just give the robber the cash and play dumb until they left. He gave me this knowledge based on multiple unfortunate experiences in his career. A few years after he retired there was a hold up in a nearby pharmacy that he had worked in and the sole female pharmacist was taken hostage after she refused to give the robber the cash he demanded. Thankfully the poor woman got out of it unharmed, but that has always stuck with me. You can't reason with the crazy or the ones acting because they have no other option.
Yeah that's why you call the cops if things go out of hand.
@aliezahjuarez1212 A lot can happen in the time it takes the police to get there. You never know how long you'll be waiting for support. Don't play the hero when you're a petite unarmed civilian. Should be common sense.

The one about the person following you is actually true. You're supposed to make like 4 right turns and if they are still behind you, make your way to the nearest police station, calling them on the way and tell them the situation. DO NOT GO HOME.

Ok but school wise it really isn't that hard. Almost got into a fight in middle school but I want to go for engineering and didn't want a suspension on my record so while the kid was punching and kicking me I just kept walking and eventually we got in view of a teacher while he tried to punch me. He got suspended for a week

The child abduction bit threw me for a loop. If someone came at me and my daughter in the street like that, there would not be a calm disarm of the grasp and a strong verbal reprimand. There would be teeth and nails like a rabid lioness.

As someone who has been going to a martial art class on defence in the UK since I was 5 (10 years) the number one thing we get taught is if u get into a knife fight expect to get stabbed and if u get into a gun fight... Give up! 😂 don't fight if they have a weapon

I have never been in a fight of any kind. If I was in a situation where I had to defend myself, I would be like a child playing helicopter. I would start screaming and swinging my arms like crazy. If nothing else, it would cause the perpatrator(sp?) to laugh his self silly, and I would RUN. 😱

I once heard somewhere that trying to disarm someone with a knife without getting hurt is like trying to get an uncapped marker from a toddler without getting marker on you. It's almost impossible

One aspect is actually correct and used in different martial arts. There are pain or pressure points of the body that help you out. Pressing from behind into someone's knee is going to collapse their stance. It is used for grabs and throws in Judo and Karate, at least those are the martial arts I've been trained in and can confirm. It is likely being used in others aswell.
As someone who actually does martial arts and self defence classes, this was SO painful to watch;. but you made it funny so thx.

I used to box as a hobby and to lose weight. I got really cocky and was just itching for a fight. Well I got what I wanted and was humbled real quick. It's easy to keep proper form and technique when a punching bag don't punch back. In a real situation that adrenaline rush gonna make u forget all that unless u really built like that. Safe to say I wasn't. I can still feel that mean left hook when I close my eyes.

14:07 so idk where this other dude was, but I watched this one guy on youtube who teaches self-defense, and he had it right. He says for girls, use your nails to scratch at the eyes and face if you're up close to someone who is just attacking without weapons. He also had a guy went around with him who would put people in those situations, only enough to physically restrain them into a submissive position to see if they knew what they were going to do. And most importantly, an ACTUAL way people try to come after you. Like for instance, for a girl, he'd lay you on the floor and the guy would hold you down and try to get into your pants (without actually unzipping or being gross), then teaches you what to do if he's holding your arms above your head and you have nowhere to go. Now that's a more realistic situation to be training for, versus Barney huggers out here....
Wow. This, and so many "qualified" people like him give a bad name to actual self defense trainers! Having learned martial arts myself for more than half of my life, jiu jitsu, kickboxing, Kung fu and tae kwon do, I know what can work and what won't. But we also need to remember also, that no matter how good you are or think you are, even my highest level trainers say, if you can run or get away, do so! These are for extreme, very last resort times, and even then, there's always a good chance of the effective moves not working and you coming off worse than if you'd just legged it! There's no shame in preventing ending up paralysed, hospitalised or worse. Funny video for sure though! Lol

As someone who took Karte classes growing up I can confrim this. My instructors always said if you can "Run" don't fight if thiers a chance to run, just run. Some of the styles he teaching could be consider martial arts but, thier to unprofessional looking and his stances are so weak the attcker would overpower him easily just but the footwrok being wrong! Still great vid, its funnyXD
