Yes a very steady hand is needed when filming birds the first eagle was away in the far distance and the second was more or less on top of me i was very lucky that day to see it close up :) Take care and stay safe, peter :)

Stunning footage of the eagle, those barn door wings are something, only seen one close up on Stob a'Choire Mheadhoin and never forgot the sheer size of them. As always enjoyed tagging along bud. Buzzards have smaller wingspan en rounded wings, flaps gently, while the Golden eagle (twice seen north of Drumnadrochit =A833= and the other one was east of Fort Augustus in the Monadliath range) has larger wings and longer fingertips. I climbed this one a couple of years ago. It was after a period of wet weather, and the lower approach was boggy and muddy!. Still it was a good day out, You video brought back some memories. Thanks.
Thank you Paul, I can imagine at how boggy it is there in wet conditions. Even in these recent dry days i still had to navigate through wee muddy areas. And you are correct it is a great walk, Reminds me of Meall Chuaich on the other side of the A9 near Dalwhinnie. Thanks for taking time to watch and comment, peter.
The four Munros in The Monadhliath range sadly live in the shadows of the High Cairngorms the other side of the A9. They are wild and bleak but amazing in their own right. Hopefully you might bump into Cameron as he is a legend in the Hillwalking game very down to earth and approachable and his knowledge of Scottish mountains is endless.

Well Peter a day of changing weather, you could almost smell the wilderness My only encounter with an Eagle was in Alaska, we were on the train up the Whitehorse pass from Scagway with a load of other BLOODY tourist's. It's the Somerset level for me this week. Regards Magnus

I thought the views from the top looked pretty good! I like hazy views. And that eagle! I'm not sure if the first bird was an eagle and I'm certainly no expert, but the second bird looked like a big beautiful eagle to me. I admire the way you get your videos uploaded so quickly. I take ages doing mine. I'm just back from a crazy trip camping at Glen Nevis. Did the Ring of Steall on Friday, the Aonachs on Sat and the Easain hills on Sunday. I only filmed one of the days. I'm a wreck today! It was pure greed - I saw three sunny days in a row and just couldn't let them go to waste!
Hi Natalie. Until i switched from crap Virigin Media to Talk Talk super fast fibre my upload speed is great to be honest. This would have took about 6 hours plus to upload, Instead of 23 min, Some hell of a difference! That is some 3 days on the hills, No wonder you are gubbed LOL! But as you say, Cant let great weather go to waste eh? Thanks Natalie :))
Just re watched the bird footage Natalie. Yes the first one looks smaller, Buzzard maybe? Ornithology is a foreign language to me, But i must have read Kes by Barry Hines a million times so thats my limit ha ha!
I made the same mistake as u Peter with the path at the beginning,lol. Was a bit put off with the Windfarm when i reached the summit. Great vid as usual pal.😁👍

Nearly went there last year Pete but had to call it off. I remember it because I wanted to see that double span bridge. You’ve got a fair old steady hand with that camera pal. That eagle looked amazing in flight eh? I’ve abandoned my old digital camera as it’s too heavy and the auto focus is shocking so I keep recording unusable footage. Great vid as usual Pete, good also if you to show people that if you get lost, to take your time, get the map out and find your way again! 😉👍🏼⛰🏴
Hi Douglas, Yeah the eagle in flight was great to watch. Once saw an Osprey take a fish out of water up in the Campsies a few years ago, Wish i had it on film. Such a privilege to see them in action. About 10 years ago climbed 5 on bein alder group from culra 2 nights bike .and bike to that one camping at dalwinnie 2nights . Glad you got good day very 👍 atb gotta get to hills asap.
Did this last Thursday 14/07/22. Should have checked your video first as I did exactly what you did at the beginning of the climb😀! Did eventually meet up with the path further on. Got it right on the way back though!

@@MUNROSnCORBETTS I was lucky. Considering I drove through a couple of rain showers on the way up the A9 and some of the hills around Drumochter had their heads in the clouds, I got it clear and dry (if a bit windy) all the way up and down, so the views were not too bad at all.
Good vlog, thanks for sharing. Still to do this (and the other 3) so thanks for the tip on the path. We were at Glen Shee Fri-Sat doing the 7 after watching your vlogs on them also 😂.
MUNROSnCORBETTS we hiked the 3 Cairnwell Munro’s Friday then camped a mile or 2 North. Saturday we parked at the south end of the route and walked the road to the start of Glas Maol circuit after watching your vlog on them so thanks for that advice also 👍🏼 Always enjoy your vlogs. 😊

Aye it was a bit of a wild boggy one, Like they kind though. Off the beaten track and not to busy, And a wee eagle or two certainly is the icing on the cake. Could just sit an watch them all day, Beautiful things! I am on 93 Munros now Tim, I have gave myself maybe 10 years from now to complete the lot. I am in no rush, Just want to take them all in and enjoy it. Dont see why some go like a steam train and climb them in all wild conditions just for the sake off etc. Best thing is i have still have lots to learn and see, And lots of interesting people to meet on the way. Me too Ken, Plenty of good space for a tent. Aye the windfarm was a bit of a low point, Stick them out to sea and i dont think many would give a monkeys about them. Yep nearly at the big 100, Some people go to a special Munro for a landmark number and i fully understand why. After much debating,I've decided on the cmd arete route to Ben Nevis for my 1st start.not long started a new job so need to build up some holidays for that.doubt I'll ever get to 100 due to having young kids but for me,it's really something personal and that route just looks so good.

Been in a few campervans now, yeah they'd be good for you or a tent bit I know you don't like camping. I love waking up at 3,000ft, hard work carrying 50lb up though. Done Vorlich recently. This looked the opposite of Vorlich, that one straight up. Nice shot of Eagle impossible to get those shots with an action cam lol. How many munros in that range Peter?
Aye am no a big fan of camping but i will need to work on it Eddie. There are four Munros there Eddie, In fact one of them is the near miss with you and Wilco(Carn Dearg). This Munro is a bit of a distance from the other three, Might give them a go later on but its an epic long day or an overnighter on the plateau maybe. What Vorlich were you up? Loch Earn or Lomond?

Though having watched both birds again second is definitely a Golden Eagle but first might be a Buzzard wings are slightly different, first has less fronds ?
