Brilliant Andy, loved it.👍 Skye is such a beautiful place and the Cuillins are something else. Well done mate going solo down the bad step, some of the holds are hard to find as you know.👏👍. The views coming back down towards SNG are spectacular. Thats some drop coming off Am Bastier at the other side. Well done on completing the Skye munros Andy👍 ATB Frank
Thanks Frank, great to get them all done on Skye.I have had the "Bad Step" in my head for years.🤣🤣 Really proud of doing 10 of them solo and only 2 with a guide.Out of all the mountains I have done in my time , I would say 80% of my squeaky bum moments have happened on the Cuillin Ridge and there us only 11 of them.🤣🤣👍
Well done Andy. That's some mountain. That ridge line looks quite imppsing when you're walking towards it. The bad step looked tricky, but you captured it well, trying to find the hand holds. Congrats on completing the Skye munro's. ATB Andy
Thanks Andy.Lucked out with the weather on this as it wasn't looking too good when I crossed the Skye Bridge in the morning.Thankfully the clouds cleared to give me some views and I didn't fancy taking the ridge on in low clouds.Been there, done that and nearly got myself in serious bother up there before.😃👍
Nice one Andy. Love the views on the way up, near that gorge coming down from Gillean, really nice approach to the ridge. Well done on that bad step, looks tricky to down climb with the hidden footholds.
@andy-astro Thanks Andy.Had another look at ur vid and the photo u showed me of the bypass path before I went.To be honest the step looked safer, lol.🤣🤣 Just took my time getting down it pal and it was pretty straightforward going back up as u can see all the moves.😃👍
@@AndyOB Yeah, the bypass looks ok in pics and videos but when u get there it all kinda looks the same. Took me a bit of looking around to find it. Probably safer in the cloud to go over the bad step for sure, rather than faff about looking for the route around it. Any plans for after the 282, maybe the Corbetts, or revisits to the claggy Munros from your round?
Probably give the Corbetts a go Andy, and maybe try some of my fav Munros from another direction.I was fortunate to put a lot of plan B's in place when the weather was clagged in and done the not so good ones instead and leave all the belters for better conditions.😃
Love it Andy and well done. Skye Munro’s are the only ones where you definitely need to use hands as well as feet which makes it a special place for me. Richard.
Thanks Richard.Yeah, the Skye Munros are deffo a level above the other ones.Had a few squeaky bum moments on these ones to keep the adrenaline going, lol.😃👍
That looked guid Andy. 👍😎 Cannae wait tae get on the cuillin. You been up there before as you negotiated the bad step with ease. Looked abit tricky likesay
Thanks Kev.The Cuillin Ridge is so different to all the other mountains in Scotland.I aways have an extra bit of nerves more so than anywhere else when I set off. 1st time doing Am Basteir. In fact this was my last one to do out the 12 of them on Skye. 10 of them Solo 2 with a guide.😃👍
That looks scary - I know I will have to do it one day, but I'm horrified by that fact, especially after watching videos like this 😁😁😁😁. Contrtary to my wife. She thinks that peaks without scary ridges and exposed pinnacles are not worth her time 😜😜.
The bad step did make slightly nervous but took my time going down it.Just a few footholds you can't see at first.A lot more simpler going up as you can see all your moves.Rest of the scramble is pretty straightforward. If you are unsure maybe think about a guide with safety rope option.😃👍
Hi Tom,in good weather I would say the descent route I took was easy to follow. If the weather changed the Cuillin Ridge is a whole new ball game.I ran into trouble on the ridge last year in Coire Ghrunnda.Clouds were so thick I could only see about 30 ft in front of me and nearly ended up Cragfast.Had to abort the climb.Due to this experience in the past,if the weather was clouded in or not looking too good before I set off for Am Basteir ,I would have left it for another day especially being up there solo.😃👍
The cheesy music spoils this video mate maybe some people might like it but in my opinion it destroys a brilliant video I love to hear the wind and raw sound of the hike! Just some advice no hate just putting it out there 🏴
@glasgowbhoy8711 Thanks for your opinion/advice on the video.Had a wee look at your channel to see if I could pick up any tips on making videos and watched all of your content which took about 1min 30 secs of my time.Couldn't find anything.🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍🏴
I am in absolute awe of you going on your own to do these mountains Andy. Yer a brave man! xx
@gillianwatson4994 Aww thanks Gillian.Aff my nut me I am.🤣🤗xx

Brilliant what a mountain Skye is truly awesome
Thanks Andrew. No other place like the Skye mountains.I remember the 1st time going over and looking up to them and they looked pretty scary.😱👍
It's a beautiful yet somewhat dangerous hike, but reaching the top must feel exhilarating.
Well done! My dear!!😊❤👍👏

Gripping ..is route finding difficult on way down ?
