    I just picked one of these in matte black. I can't wait to do an unboxing video and ride review!
    I have been using a cheap Torc modular helmet that is INCREDIBLY NOISY and the wind comes through in videos no matter what I did. WITH A DEAD CAT OVER THE MIC!!
    The second I put this on at Cycle Gear, I was sold! Way lighter and snugs my head perfectly. It was more than I planned on spending, but you get what you pay for!

    Great review. Have had many helmets, Suomy, Bell, Shoei. The Shoei, believe it is an 1100 was my favorite. Been going back and forth between a new 1400 and this one. This video made my mind up! Thanks!

    i had a nolan n44 then a bell qualifier dlx and now a rf-sr and the shoei is by far the best helmet of the 3, wiring in my 20s was cake and it flowed so much better than the bell, like night and day better. youre gonna be a happy camper w that

    Ordered mine last week and got it on Friday. My god what a comfortable quiet helmet. Also bought the transition visor for it and it works very well.

    Just bought this helmet yesterday. Only got about 100 miles in it but it is great. Super quite and being in Florida I can’t get this thing to fog up. I have had tons of helmets and I’m really impressed.

    Bought one in the UK ; called Ryd, I got deal with the photo chromatic visor which is great. I love the helmet, my previous shark evo one was more expensive and noisy. So bad I now have permanent tinnitus. A word of advice, on highways wear good ear plugs, tinnitus sucks . Btw, the Matt grey matches iron 883 grey denim . Been following you since the start, great channel. 👍🇬🇧

    Nice video man, you should check out the shoei neotech 2 with the sena installed... been rocking that helmet most of the summer... it's been my favorite helmet

    I may end up getting that helmet in the flat blue to match my blue bike. I have an RF-1200 which I love but I would prefer a helmet optimized for the upright position and the RF-SR is that helmet. It was extremely windy today and at higher speeds I had to tilt my head down so it wouldn't get batted around since I prefer no windscreen except on trips. It's also so much quieter in it's optimized position (tilted down). I should just pull the trigger now because I know it's inevitable.

    Husband and I got 1200s for the price of the SRs (we bought them at the dealer when getting our groms, so they gave us a deal.) Because the 1200 is lighter, that made it much more comfortable for me & my size S head. So just a tip for the ladies with smaller heads/slimmer necks: the lighter weight lid is worth extra $ to not feel like a bobble head.

    • @BlockheadMoto
      @BlockheadMoto  6 років тому +1

      That's awesome to get the RF-1200's for the price of the RF-SR's! However, I'd advise to choose either of those based on what you're riding. Sport bike / leaning forward stance, RF-1200. Upright like on a cruiser, naked bike, dual sport, adv etc, I'd recommend the RF-SR. Makes a huge different, since the RF-SR is made for upright riding, you don't have to look as far down to see instrumentation. Rode with the RF-1200 for awhile on my Harley and it was a pain to see my gauges for sure.

    • @amyclick6214
      @amyclick6214 6 років тому

      Sometimes I wear dirt bike gloves on the Grom too 🤪 ha! I hear ya though, I’ve just gotten into the habit of depending more on sound/feel than checking the gauges. Don’t really watch RPMs in my car either, shift by sound/feel. Being able to comfortably look around and turn my head was important for me, so I benefit more from the lighter weight than the viewpoint. We all different!!

    I normally prefer to wear a 1/2 helmet and recently replaced both of my 5 year old Skid Lidz with a G-Max G65 and an HJC-IS Cruiser II, each with a drop down visor. However, my new bike, Yamaha Eluder, the windshield is shorter and I'm getting bugs and debris over the top and still hitting me, as well as some buffeting. I'm starting to consider a full-face, but I also wear glasses. How comfortable is it around the temple if you have glasses on? The the "brow-ridge" rest on the glasses?

  • @dadodasler9730
    @dadodasler9730 5 років тому +1

    My bike is street and I have no plans on riding a sportsbike, maybe a cruiser at some point. Which one would you recommend, RF-SR or RF-1200 if prices were the same? The RF-1200 looks more expensive and seems to be of higher quality.

    Should have gone with a Cookie Monster clip when you took out your chick-fil-a (or as us in Chicago referred to it until we started getting them chick-a-fil). Anyway I’m gonna be looking for a new kid next year. Going between the GT Air2 and the RFSR. Advice? I’m trying to give this motovlog thing a try. Thanks block

    Strangely this helmet did not feel as good to me as my RF1200 & Neotec. Yeah RF1200 they say for Sport Bikes but works fine on my CB1100/Goldwing, both upright riding positions. Good vid.

    I just tried this helmet on at Cycle Gear and can't get how great it fit out of my mind! I am just trying to find the best deal now on a xxl in white..Yet I got a big bean! :/ I really like modular helmets but the $700 price for a quality Shoe version has me saying "full face I'm coming home..."

    Hey BLOCK just a quick question if you can. Did your 883 engine ever sound unusually loud? Like almost a slapping sound or loud clicks? Any help is apprieated from anyone.

    • @BlockheadMoto
      @BlockheadMoto  6 років тому

      Not that I recall. If you don't have an exhaust on it, it does have some clicks. If you're worried about it, best to take it in and have a tech look at it.

    • @2wheelTaylor
      @2wheelTaylor 6 років тому

      Has to be the exhaust, took it and got a safety check done on it and they said it was fine, plus it only has 2000 miles on it. Thanks for answering brotha. 🤙🏼

      Andrew Fennell I have been using the gt air for over 10000km great helmet. And the drop down visor is totally worth it. I ride a lot in autumn and winter as well. Lighting conditions can change vastly here in Germany during those seasons, so with that drop down you don't need to Carry an extra visor
