Rhymesayers was founded by 4 people of varied backgrounds from European, African and Indigenous and mixtures there of. MF Doom was on the label, MURS has released music with them so has Sol Messiah, Sa Roc, Nikki Jean, Homeboy Sandman who is 1/2 of Lice all though Im not sure who puts Lice out. Slug who is 1/2 of Atmosphere is Mixed. Its a pretty diverse label and for sure at least half of the founders don't identify as white. What matters is embracing diversity and good music.

I discovered your channel just a couple days ago and have chewed through all your Rhymesayers reactions already ❤ MF DOOM was part of Rhymesayers before he passed and his very last recorded verse was on the song Barcade w Atmosphere n Aesop My recommendation would be Pigs by Aesop Rock, i love the education n knowledge he consistently has dished out. It's another easy to understand one, i hope you give it a listen even if it's not for the channel 🙏
I think slug was one of many, I know my mans Musab was one, but I figured B. Sayers did, yknow, cause the last name? Speculation. Buut: Theres not a member who's catalog won't floor expectations - their peripheral collaborators too, driver, myka, dose, prefuse, deca...honestly, the talent is absurd.

Youre pretty wise for a young dude. Idk if you like books but Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, the Roman Emperor is good although a bit hard to digest. Also The Book of 5 Rings by Miyamoto Musashi, the most famous and likely skilled swordsman of all time. Both insanely wise successful men. Theres audio books of em free on youtube. Once you know the way broadly, you can see it in all things.
Is Musashi the samurai with 60+ bodies who attributed his skills with a sword to being good at art and poetry. I'm definitely going to start Meditations. The Holy Roman Empire fascinates me so much!
So excited by this I had to pause in the dollar store parking lot to watch. Good question about Rhymesayers, I don't believe it's specifically white rappers, but definitely less mainstream. I honestly am not sure though. "You like to think you're cool enough to not care if you're cool, but the spirit gets distracted. The flesh is fucking cruel." Gets me in the gut EVERY time.

Atmosphere has a dense catalog that is ripe for an exploration. As a huge fan, there are some clunkers, but it's still worth checkin' it out!
