The reaction kicked ass. More Aesop. More ryhmesayers. Side note: do you have vitiligo? If so, my wife does too and it always makes me happy to see other homies showing off their uniqueness!
part of why I like Aes so much is because of how much fun I have re-listening to his songs and deciphering them (or trying to). He's a great storyteller and lyricist -- Definitely check out some more of his stuff. ITS is his newest album, spirit world field guide was a few years back and is another good one to check out.
Awesome reaction, nobody can digest his songs in one listen but that makes them exciting after dozens of replays. ITS is an acronym for Integrated Tech Solutions which is the name of this album. Its a loose concept album that explores technology and consumerism. This song is based on a true event as are others on the album. 100 Feet Tall is about him meeting Mr. T as a child, On Failure is sort of a spoken word track about the life and legacy of Vincent van Gogh, Vititus is about his Lithuanian grandmother. He's able to turn mundane events into great stories. He also produced and made the beats for the album. Do another Aesop track. thanks

When Aesop says "I don't even have the words..", you know it's messed up lol. Aesop got words for everything. ITS is the abbreviation for this albums name. This album is called "Integrated Tech Solutions".
You can start passively listing to an Aesop Rock song. Maybe after 12 listens, maybe. I usually sit down and have the song and lyrics on the first few listens.
aes is so dope..you should check out some songs from a recent album called "Impossible Kid". There are A LOT more "approachable" songs on there compared to some others. IE: the three part story of his mental health/therapy starting with, "Get Out the Car", "Shrunk", and "Kirby". The videos are great, but maybe even consider doing a lyric video to help follow along!
Aesop makes it difficult to decipher the whole story upon first listen for sure. He does have such a unique way with metaphors and paints such a vivid image once you understand the bars. It's no shame to pull out the official lyrics when checking out his songs because some of the vocabulary is very specific and can easily go unnoticed. None of his songs are passive listening, making for really engaging art but also part of the reason he's never seen real mainstream success. I love his music but i've always thought of him more as a traditional poet than typical rapper. Most of his stuff makes much more sense when you see it written on the page since some of the words are part of extended metaphors and if you miss a piece of it, none of it makes sense. ITS is the abbreviation for the album this song is from: Integrated Tech Solutions.
Here's a fun one: Look for Aesop Rock - Oh Fudge (AI music video). It really _shows_ what it's like listening to Aesop Rock and visualizing bits and pieces of his lyrics. In your own time, doesn't need to be a reaction.
new Aes isn't that dense compared to his start. I have arguments with my friends about new vs old, and am I being a snob bc I prefer older stuff. Personal favs would be like daylight/nightlight or more recent jazz hands
Someone told me that really smart people use a very high level language that makes them unintelligible and get misunderstood a lot. However true genius is being able to function that high but be able to sound like an average person. They have a lot more reach and power because they can relate their knowledge to lame ducks and build some of them up from there as they get used to it and from there more people are up on the plane than the previous. My teacher told me that in 3rd grade and I didn’t understand it until 9th but I quoted it forever. Ms Wendel
Can we appreciate Aes saying "I don't even have the words...." Like dude, all you got are words for days!
Aesop Rock is also in or featured in:
Malibu Ken
Hail Mary Mallon
The Uncluded
The Weathermen
as well as few more
Liked and subbed. Aes has done wonders for my ADHD.
My favorite album of 2023. And my favorite song on the album. Always much love for Aesop reactions.
Someone commented on the official video that he lived near Aesop and this is a true story.
Don't trip. Aes is the 🐐. Real ones know.
ITS- integrated tech solutions: the name of the album
ITS is not a cult.

Thank you! I look forward to checking out more Aesop! Also...YES I do have vitiligo and I love it!! ☺🙌 Thank you for asking/bringing it up!

It's important to have the lyrics handy when delving into Aesops brain
Do "Dog at the Door" or "Dorks". You are getting a sub. More people need to stop sleeping on Aesop Rock.

Not a cult the same way Discordianism isn't the One True Religiion.
Its is integrated tech solutions. Music about real life situations are the solutions.
It's for big brains

Thank you the info/insight!
Try his song 'Get Out of the Car'. Short and lyrically dense.

Try out some Prof, its poppy Aesop. Plus it goes HaRd.
As an audio engineer, this should work your brain a bit...
