I use a joey in my room connected to Ethernet. I didn't have to install any nodes or anything new (except to the hopper which I already had because of my pervious VIP system). The hopper is connected to a router in the basement. I have connectivity issues in my room so I connected a separate router to the Ethernet port in my room (which is connected to the modem downstairs) and the joey is connected to the router in my room. I had no problems and the picture was clear and smooth.
CJ Davis I don't mind at all! As long as the hopper is connected to your home internet, your Joey should have service when it is connected through ethernet. (Or wifi, if you have the dongle.)
Only for certain programming on the joey.you can't get a joey to broadcast youtube but it works on the hopper in another room.Sucks.Hooking my dvr back up to internet and running youtube thru it.Dish actually lies about a lot of things they say they can do,especially wi-fi, but they are full of s**t.Only the hopper is wi-fi accessible, joeys are wired thru the dish so they arent portable unless you have a 100 ft hdmi cable
My master bedroom TV 📺 doesn’t have a Joey and I can still control my dish. How is that possible? Is the signal going through my TV to the hopper??
Does a restart do the same as a reset?
How many components can be between the node and any Hopper/Joey receiver?
Based on the video, looks like just one - tap/splitter
I have a hopper what do i need to get a joey without going thru dish. im not signing a contract.
JOey is a Dish device and requires a 24 month agreement.

So the Joey can function entirely over my LAN via Ethernet, without a coax wire going to it? Thanks!
CJ Davis Yep! Works perfectly!
I promise to not bug you anymore, but would you happen to have a link, or video that would explain how to hook it up? Thanks again for the response.

offically not but that being said i have seen it.
She's freakin' hot!
Olivia is a 8.75 on my scale
Made my Joey stand up!
@THINKPINKLAWNCARE that's sus
You can use joey as a wireless receiver.
cant find concrete instructions ~_~
No you cant.Only the hopper is wireless unless you want to really empty your wallet
Had a DISH tech come and supposedly run cable that would allow for Joey use in my basement....uhh..nope. Don't know what the hell he did.
there are wireless joeys
can i install the joeys without the hopper
Nope as the joeys do not have a tuner only the hopper (host) has tuners.
easy to install my ass
the solo node is garbage. the hybrid hub is much better.
We had Dish since its conception... now we HATE DISH SO MUCH, we cancelled the service... what junk! ... and no HBO!
