I do mostly wash and gos and I’ve recently learned that the steam from the shower is my friend! It is the best curl revitalizer. I don’t try to band or pineapple my hair anymore. I just sleep on a satin pillow case at night, take a steamy morning shower and fluff. Great video!
I think the pineapple is for longer hair that has more weight...wen u take it out of the pineapple it will fall back down a little...then if u spritz it with water and shake ur head it will bounce right into place.....TWA if it dries in a position...it ain't leaving it
Her hair is pretty long.. Like medium length... But it shrinks so much... So I think that's why it's not 4c friendly... Because 4c hair shrinks up so bad.... However long the hair is
Hydration is key. I surprisingly learned that from Solange, LOL! She mentioned in an interview about refreshing her curls in the shower with the steam and a bit of water but not saturation. Your hair looked good. I can't believe it made it 8 days!
@@JennJackson i dont have 4c so my hair will droop if I wet or steam it. But thats bcus my hair has changed. Im 4a and some 3c mostly in front. And 4b in crown. I also have multi porosity too. I was confused too the one and only time I did the pineapple. I thought I did something wrong when my hair was kind of stuck in that shape. I had to refresh in the shower.
I definitely think the mini pineapples are my favorite ways! The thing that I do is wrap the band down the section more. Plus do more sections like 4 or 5. Then while taking them out, I make sure I have oil on my hands so that fluffing is easier. Because you do the shower thing, I’d actually leave the banded pineapples in, and allow the steam to stretch and revive it. Idk chile I’m a twist out kind of guy anyway lol
Jenn, your wash and go was beautiful. I have 4A/3C hair and pineapple is a no-no for me whenever I do wash and gos, which is rarely nowadays. I just put on a bonnet and fluff my hair and it resumes its shape. I can't use steam or water because my hair will become frizzy and dry. That is why i don't refresh between wash days. I also only use a curling cream, no gel. My wash and gos usually last 2 weeks. Like you, I don't have much tangling on wash day. Maybe you could try a curling cream wash and go.
Yesssss...type 4 hair is beautiful as a whole. What our hair does shrinking up is soo amazing. I used to be irritated with my shrinkage. But after following Jen, LaToya Ebony, and StarPuppy I began to embrace my shrinkage...that's what can happen simply witnessing someone LOVE their hair in EVERY state. Our hair is truly AMAZING💞
Yeah, if I do my hair on Saturday or Sunday by Tuesday night I'm wetting it, detangling it and putting in some twists for a twist out the rest of the work week. It's never made it past that 2/3 day mark!
Much appreciated. I appreciate the steam technique becuase i dont think my hair would like the pineapple or stretching with hair ties. Im happy for this wash n go update.
Heyy Jen I just cut off my relaxed hair after like 10 months. Now I can finally do a wash and go. Imma go back and rewatch your all your videos.❤ Also im excited for this video ik its gonna be fire.
Ok! I am 4C as well and have been following you for years now! Your hair and your attitude is sooo me! Love it!!! When you said you were putting your 4C hair in the pineapple, I was like ohhh this is going to be good! 😱. When the scarf came off, I saw my head! Lol. No to pineapples!🙅🏽♀️. Thanks for sharing those bad days!!! Subi in the house!!! Whoop whoop!!!
Girl, Thank you! my hair always feels soft when i Steam it in the shower! usually i steam by wearinga plastic cap but I'ma try what you did and sprinkle a little water in my scalp and scrunch. you're giving me realistic results! appreciate it!
I love the hair in 2 or 3 loose puffs overnight! The pineapple isn't the method for me either, unless my hair is very stretched already. I also am not afraid to take my blow dryer to my hair in the am to fluff the roots. If I am gonna do it for more than a minute or 2, I will spray some heat protectant First. Great video Jenn!!
loving this series. can you please show the aftermath of the detangling after the wash and go. That's the worst part about wash n gos for me that's why I don't want to do them on my 4c hair.
Wow... So I normally get these results after having my wash and go in for a week, and for some reason, I think I did something wrong... This is exactly what it's supposed to look like... thick, coily, defined, and healthy... Thank you for this!
@Jenn Jackson Update: I didn't do a pineapple ( I slept in a bonnet only) and this morning I spritzed with water glycerin aloe vera juice mix and put on a plastic cap for 10 minutes ,lifted with fingers at root and boom my hair was back. I don't know about 8 days. I just did a WNG for the first time in a long time and I doubt I can get 8 days. 2 to 3 max but I am going to try this time without pineappling and just waking up curls with steam and little water.
Jenn, next time take a shower and allow the steam to give your hair moisture and shape it in the shower. Although I'm not 4c, I put my hair in 3 ponytails at night... one in front and two on the side. I take the bands off and take my shower. Once I'm done taking a shower, I shake my hair . The steam from the shower loosens my hair and I'm able to shape it when I get out the shower (I'm 4a/4b btw). Just a thought...
Jenn gurl I could’ve told you bout that pineapple 🍍 lol the bamboozled you lol. When I’ve done wash and do’s in the past I just put my bonnet on and steam refresh in the a.m that is honestly the best method for our hair type! I’m glad you eventually found it. Ps. Great video I loved that you showed all the different methods in a trial and error way and showed us what worked best for you 💚💚

i spend so much time fluffing my wash and gos just to have a helmet head the next morning😭 I love my loose hair out and about but for the most part i leave it in twists. Your hair looks so beautiful and defined. Gurllll those curls are poppin👌
Yup I love reviving my hair daily using the steam from my hot shower. Right before I jump in the shower, I usually spray my hair with Oyin Handmade's Juices & Berries herbal hair spray which has humectants that draw the moisture from the steam into my hair. But if I spray too much I can lose some definition from my twist out since it can take in a lot of moisture. When I try my wash n go I will try wetting my hands like you did to revive it.
Omg I so love Jenn Jackson you are my favourite hair vlogger.I was going through one video whereby u were doing flat twists and tried them out.I love the curl definition and volume of your hair and was wondering if you you would love to put so alice bands and bows just to zhuzh it up a notch 😊.Its all love here girl thank you for the inspiration ❤❤❤❤❤💗❤

Omg sis I was looking for a new technique, because that pineapple stuff does not work for me. My best friend is the steam in the shower
I’m curious how a few chunky braids would work versus the “pineapple” 🍍 band method
Enjoyed every minute of d vid so I just had to subscribe 🤣🤣
I'm learning a lot from you videos especially with my daughter's 4C hair. Thank you for always sharing
Yea girl! Love this!

Okay. My hair is much shorter than yours, but I am now inspired to try a wash and go on my next wash day.
Can you share your make up routine? Your face is gorgeous! I never made up my face completely I need a beginners guide. Thanks. Also love the video.
A pineapple on short or medium, type 4, wash & go is asinine. They tricked you!
Right? Sabotaged me big time lol
Banding method work’s better.. small downward pineapples..lol
Water is literally our best friend. We all need to know how to swim, when it rain run outside lol.
Lmao!

I actually btfol 😂 when you said im not listen to yall again an mom say what yuh got goin on.

do the pineapple method but all around your head. Like little pineapples in the direction you want that section of your hair to fall

Do you take your ring off everytime you wash your hair? Any hacks?
