@@hacklaurent9412 My oldest sons got his C8 last week (same color as the one in this video) and it is an amazing car. He had a C7 and I loved it as well but the C8 is like nothing I have ever driven.

What makes his reactions like this so special is that he's normally so even keel during his reviews...almost monotonous...that when he displays such exuberant emotion like this it's awesome!
@Furious_DC I would venture to say that most people are not used to going 0-60 in 3.0 seconds. Heck, we see all the cars he reviews so we know most of them aren't that fast either.

I've never seen Sofyan so hype about a car before lol. I literally bursted out laughing when he said it was faster than a McLaren GT, this car really is a huge slap in the face to every exotic manufacturer in the business right now. I have a feeling this is going to be one of the most successful Corvette models in the history of the brand. Very good job.
This is a slap in the face to McLaren, Ferrari and Lamborghini. It also makes the Ford gt completely irrelevant.
@@svpracer98 Let's not get crazy now. Raw performance numbers aren't everything. I'm a HUGE Corvette fan and always have been, but the GT is a very, very, very special car. There's room for both! Actually, there's room for as many amazing mid-engine cars as the automakers can turn out. :-)

@@VetteZ06 it was too expensive, built in limited numbers and had a v6. WHY!? FOR WHAT REASON!? It doesn't sound as good, doesn't preform any better and is no more ecological than a v8. For the amount of hype that car got, ford gave us an goose egg.

But while I am living in the United States I will be driving a Corvette.

Honestly if I was going to spend up to a $100000 on a car it would be between the Corvette C8 and the Lexus LC 500. I know totally different cars but I love them both
Make more money and buy them both. The LC 500 will probably be worth more in the long run because of the extremely limited amounts. I think they're both desirable.
You can get a slightly used lc500 for 60k now and wait year or two get one these for 60k have both
I don't know based off of some of the reviews. The new C8 is a fairly comfortable car even in its most harshest ride mode. So the ride could be GT like, kind of like the LC500. But like what the other guys said, save up and get both, both will get looks and both will be fun to drive.
it will just have to be a little lust and looksies for now. unless the lottery finds me, then both are mine.
I agree I'm looking at the LC500 convertible, the Corvette looks like more fun but the LC has more class and reliability

I beg to differ on the wheels, they are gorgeous! To each his own, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. After market wheels often don’t have the quality of OEM wheels also unless I am mistaken.
They can have way better quality or way worse, but balancing them is harder. The OEM wheels are made specifically for the car and balancing them isn't a problem, but sometimes after markets have a problem.
Other than that, depends on the wheels for the quality

@@sachemrock only the cheap wheels would have balancing problems sub 100 dollar alluminum wheels. I am assuming that the base C8 wheels are flow formed so a 500 dollar wheel would be of equivalent quality.

This car was designed to be a touring car first, track car second, although you wouldn't know it by the peformance numbers. Once you get the Z06, Grand Sport, ZR1 and Zora you will see it truly unleashed as a mission-driven track car.
That was the best first person perspective of showing the car launching that I have seen! It really shows how fast it really is! Awesome!

Got to love how small that engine looks, for being a 6.2L. One of the best advantages of a pushrod design, dimensionally it's a small engine.
I am glad this Corvette got you so excited! Another video shows what the competition alignment does for the steering. It's magic but scrubs tread off the tires.

The engine sounds deadly!!!
Not too deadly. Most people are paying for an upgraded C8 that will cost the same as a GT500. And the Chevy small-block is really a 1954 engine. Cam in block, non-crossflow two-valve heads, pushrods.While fast to 0-60, slower than the GT500 in the quarter and quarter mile by a lot. If you take the supercharged version in the Zl1-1LE compared with the GT500, the Camaro is slower in the quarter, and from 0-160, the Chevy is FIVE seconds slower than the GT500. It's all breathing. You can't get high flows through those heads, supercharged or not.
@@amazoidal You realize that you are comparing the fastest Mustang in existence to a base model Corvette right? Obviously the GT500 is faster because it has 250 more horsepower than the C8 and 100 more over the ZL1. You went on that whole diatribe to say nothing just because you dislike pushrod engines. And that's fine because the Z06 and ZR1 versions of this car will be faster than the GT500 with DOHC flat plane crank V8s.
Yes the GT500 is in the same price bracket as a C8 but it's a still a Mustang. It's much heavier, not mid-engined, and doesn't look as nice on the outside or inside. The Mustang isn't a true competitor to the Corvette and it never was. And this is coming from 2017 Mustang GT owner.
C8 z51 is a hell of a sports car. Interesting as this was the first review of a z51 without mrc shocks.
@@amazoidalStop please!! This review has nothing to do with Ford or the GT500 Mustang!! LoL!! The C8 is a two seat Sport Car that's a game changer in the Automotive Industry! The Mustang is not a C8 competitor. It is a Pony Car/ GT tourer that competes with the likes of the Camaro and Challengers.
Until the flat plane 5.5 arrives, it still has an ancient engine design. That's how you can buy one for 60k.

love it my boss has one and it is all and more i thought it would be . FYI these new cars dont need old time fog lights. with led headlamps , there is NO NEED FOR FOG LIGHTS as far as i am aware. i love that it comes in a hard top convertible. JOY you showed while driving the car (the 2 octave higher change in your voice )is exactly what the experience should be with this Vette ! party on Wayne
I know the purest disapprove, I don’t. I’ve been a Corvette lover for as long as I can rememberer. This car brings the Vette to super car status. One of the few things Chevy is doing these days.

Love that blue. It is August 13th and I finally got to see one in person on Route 23 south in that powder blue. Ironically I was asking people at work had they seen one yet just two days ago (all no's) and I noticed one in a lot on the other side of the road on the way home. As has been said much better in person.

The removable roof panel is called a Targa Top. Its not used by manufactures as a description like the word convertible is because Porsche trade marked the name in 1966 or the next year and it is an actual trim model for the Porsche 911. However Corvettes and other manufactures have use the roof designed since the 70's due to the fear of convertibles being banned by the US DOT. The roof designed has been around since the late 50's mostly in Europe and Japan.
Just as Camaro ZL1 this Corvette is also the bargain of the century Chevy is doing good . Every time Sofyan is first to review every car but this time he is the last 😢.
