Great and honest video. I would definitely get a bit nagged by that rattle. I tried to fix the weatherstrip on my Z06 and got so "into it", I ended up cracking a body panel. You really have to do as one salesman once told me, "crank up the radio, stomp the gas, and enjoy the car", or microscopic flaws about the Corvette will make you insane. If you have to have every body panel perfect, buy a Mercedes or Cadillac. They have that stuff nailed.
I still find the Grand sport fascinating , still one of my favorite to have on the track , plus now with the new PS100 stat wing by victor racing bet it performs even better
I got a 4th Gen Camaro and yes kids love them except for one little shit who told me "Show me what an LS1 can do what a 2JZ can't" got out of my car took my belt out he ran a way i yelled it's a 3.4 you little shit you outran me, Kids these days no respect
A secondary cat delete, ported throttle body, and a tune already puts my GS at 500hp. The tune made a huge difference alone. These cars are really dialed down from the factory. Hell, Power Enrichment doesn't kick in til 5000rpm and 77% throttle from factory. Now imagine PE kicking in at 2000rpm, 0% throttle, increased pedal sensitivity, and torque limit settings removed after a tune is done. Pretty much have full power on tap. My car is no longer 'street friendly'. Probably why GM had a mild tune on the car. The only thing keeping me somewhat disciplined is the cost of rear tires and fuel. 😆
I am so lucky to have a LS block, I'm only 16 have a $55k 2008 1500 ext cab Sierra Denali with the 5.3L engine, it will tow a 5th wheel and do 0-60 in 5.8, I have a performance tune and bolt on's, I probably make 330hp and 350 torque in a pretty light truck, it will EASILY spin it's tires and may be dangerous slightly w/o stability/traction, as while turning hard at 30mph, if you gun it the back WILL kick out badly, but it is surprisingly easy to control, and my custom performance exhaust makes it sound AMAZING! I have put it into a ditch while trying to do a corner drift while stopped, i hit it maybe 75% throttle, it lit the tires up and then it rotated into a ditch, slammed against the bumper, NO DAMAGE AT ALL, Chevy's are built tough alright, and it is SO EASY to drift!
He also got the passive door unlocking & locking wrong. You just have to make sure that the passive feature is turned on first in the settings. Vettes have had passive locking/unlocking at least since the late model C4s from the early to mid-nineties. No need to press FOB buttons.
It DOES have the walk away lock function but the default mode is off. I have mine set in the walk away lock on. ua-cam.com/video/Hjh0tMcLUto/v-deo.html
like all your reviews but i dont understand your obsession with key fobs ? they are basically all the same shape and size with almost 3-4 buttons . why does this one need to be update .? explain what u would do to make the perfect key fob . i am very interested the unique design that you see fit in the world of key fobs .
I heard you can hold down the left paddle to auto shift to the lowest allowable gear in manual mode instead of having to quickly flip down through them all to get there
I understand how a Corvette might not be for everyone. That said, I'm curious, what kind of car suits your needs. I'm a newbie to this channel so I don't know your personality as of yet. Oh... /subscribed.
The thing I like about your video reviews is your every man perspective. You keep stating that this is not your type of car but, every single time you put your foot into it the look on your face pretty much contradicts that statement. That said, I agree with most of your critiques. Have they improved in this area? Definitely. Do they have more room to improve? Yes. The rattle from the rear of that tester is very noticeable. The blind spots of any convertible are something everyone needs to be aware of. I'm a convertible guy and blind spot monitoring and rear sensors to me is a no brainer must for a modern vehicle. The lack of attention to detail with the overhead switches is disappointing. That is a vendor issue and Chevy should hammer those people for a lack of Quality Control. The nit picks about the entertainment system are not important to me at all. When you buy a Vette IT is the Entertainment System. The Vette has been and remains the dollar for dollar best car on the market from a performance perspective. But, if they want to become the best dollar for dollar Performance and Quality construction car they have a bit of work to do . The rattling is just totally unacceptable. For me personally, I think the 2LT Z51 Vette is the best value for the average Vette buyer.
at 4:15 this is a beauty. id rather own this over any exotic, id however pick original Ferrari 5 spoke wheels. cae reminds me of Mclarren but better looking
Actually... You can't say you reviewed a corvette without taking it out on the track and used the PDR. But if you get a convertible you can't track it anyway and will be blissfully ignorant on what the GM PDR can do. If you do track. PDR is a MUST and then can say you REALLY reviewed the Corvette. This is like a pre-sale test drive.
Thanks for catching that! The specs sheet confused us a bit when we read the Z07 package option and what it included. That being said, it looks like the bigger wheels/tires and stiffer suspension tuning are definitely making the ride a bit harsher versus the last stingray we drove. It made us believe our tester didn't have the MRC option.
I love the 'vette, but it's too bad Chevy won't go that extra 10% and make the interior just a bit better quality wise. A few cheap ill-fitting plastics ruins what could be a stellar interior.
that's the same face and exclamation you used during your review of the Toyota HR. You might need to come up with a variety of expressions. They tend to mean less & less.
OMG! $$$$$94,000.00 for a Corvette. Who can afford these cars? Sad, that us middle class are stuck with Camry's and Accords. My last luxury car was an X5 at $51,000 back in 2000 which I paid cash for. Today 19 years later, I can't afford shit. These types of cars which I categorize alongside the X5 I once had are all now priced at $90-$100K. My salary can't keep up with the cost of these cars.
If i was going to buy a new Vett', I'd buy a 2018 Grand Sport with the ZO7 package, and i'd have it Pro Charged.. Then i'd have a Vett that would keep up with the new 2019 ZR1 and around $40k cheaper..
2017 Grand Sport absolutely has an automatic lock function in the settings. Mine locks 10 seconds after you close the door. Either yours wasn't turned on in the settings or they eliminated it for 2018.
Yes you are correct I also have the 2017 model an as far as i know this is a standard feature on all C7 corvettes. If the reviewer had simply gone thru the menu it is a VERY simple thing to set DUH .
That actually makes me want a convertible. And I really like the subtle silver... nice balance. But a Corvette is the raw brutal car that I'd rather have with a manual transmission.
Alfredo Martinez Are you kidding? Have you seen a similar year 911 in person? Beautiful cars that exude class and style. I'll admit the c7 is the best looking vette yet, and the only one I would ever consider maybe buying pre-owned and thrashing it for a year or two. But it looks gimmicky next to a Porsche.
I’m sorry but you are mistaken in the head unit you’re able to control a walkaway function that automatically locks the Corvette. How do I know this you might ask your self, we own a 2014 Corvette stingray.
Should I trade my *Cayman GTS* for a brand new Z06? They are currently about the same value, almost a direct swap...the two cars represent almost the exact opposite things...oh the dilemma (yea yea...first word problem, I know).
The Z06 is an insanely powerful car, but that's not everything. In fact, it's too powerful for the vast majority of drivers. Personally, I'd rather have the better built, better handling Cayman GTS.
ZDY I'd say yeah man go for it. I've been a massive fan of the C7 Corvette since the day they were announced. They seem to make great daily drivers and also killer track cars. The Z06 can beat almost anything around a track and at the switch of a mode or button on the center console you'll have a soft comfortable and controllable ride in town. Not to mention the interiors and quality of the C7 are about two lightyears ahead of the C6, and can also now easily compete with European rivals in terms of that.
Dean Grimsell the soft ride is very attractive to me right now...my Cayman is on a Sports PASM and it's just too damn low. Then again so Is the Z06. I'm thinking maybe just get a Z51 a year or two later when my car is worth less
Are you kidding me? The silver paint looks amazing, it shows all the beautiful lines and curves in the car and make the carbon fiber really jump out. Can't wait to see the mid engine version, it will be Americas second mid engine car ever made.
Round tail lights = Corvette This thing is a trans am/F12 ferrari wanna be. Tom Peters the worst designer ever from pontiac designed it and took ideas from ferrari F12. LOOK IT UP
@@FATGOOFAS : It takes a few seconds to go into the settings & turn on the passive locking/unlocking if it already isn't for some reason. A monkey could do it. my dude said hide your drugs lmfao
Just nonchalantly I'm like, was that supposed to be a joke or is he serious lol...
I know, I was kind of expecting him to laugh after he said that, but he was so serious about the way he said it lol
lollllll i instantly liked the video when he said that. Everyone is thinking it.....
when did he say that I must have missed it?

I have a Grand Sport and love it ! Fantastic performance and the 335 rear tires
stick like glue. Good review
You are a knobgobbler, right?
Nope, under 50. Just wealthy
I have a Black 2017 G.S. -Best Corvette I owned in past 18 years
I love dodge vipers more....but damn....this year's Camaro and corvette are pretty damn nice.
At 20:31 when it goes between 3K-4K it sounds a tad bit reminiscent of the LFA note around the same RPM range. Sounds absolutely heavenly!
"Hey, that's an aggressive-looking car," said no kid ever.
I was just about to make that joke! XD
is that the chevy mustang hemi?
I got a 4th Gen Camaro and yes kids love them except for one little shit who told me "Show me what an LS1 can do what a 2JZ can't" got out of my car took my belt out he ran a way i yelled it's a 3.4 you little shit you outran me, Kids these days no respect
+SalemMillion that kid was just a JDM fanboy. If you get told that again, say "beat an LS1"
hotlesbianassassin grow up brat
Love your reviews. Your expressions makes me laugh when you get on it. Keep up the awesome reviews!!

Silver / grey looks Awesome
Convertible corvette makes no sense. You can just buy the hardtop and take the roof off...
Drive both. Night & day. The buffeting with the targa off is stupidly annoying.
Convertible's more convenient. But you'd lose the vents above the rear fenders.
yes targa top is more better
Not once you take it off and go faster than 30mph it ain't...
When you're 80 y.o you would want a soft top rather than the targa top..
Magnetic selective ride control is standard on all Grand Sport models. You can tell you have it in PTM.
The tester should have reviewed the 2018 Corvette brochure and owners manual BEFORE reviewing the car.
He also got the passive door unlocking & locking wrong. You just have to make sure that the passive feature is turned on first in the settings. Vettes have had passive locking/unlocking at least since the late model C4s from the early to mid-nineties. No need to press FOB buttons.
Another good review. Like the reference to RCR "weed goes here"
Ironic enough, your red c7 vette video kept following me around yesterday. So i watched it, again. Now you post this! Mind reader, much? Lol
Did I hear you correctly? Sounded like you said magnetic ride was an option. Was that changed, because for 2017 all Grand Sports have it.
It DOES have the walk away lock function but the default mode is off.
I have mine set in the walk away lock on.

Looks Amazing Love the Color !!!
yup, you are right the corvette looks good in blue.
You do a great job on car reviews.
Nice job, a very good review in depth.
Wow! Stunning car!
like all your reviews but i dont understand your obsession with key fobs ? they are basically all the same shape and size with almost 3-4 buttons . why does this one need to be update .? explain what u would do to make the perfect key fob . i am very interested the unique design that you see fit in the world of key fobs .
What Honda do you drive Sofyan?
The corvette looks so damn good
Corvette. The All American Scream Machine🇺🇸
yes id love to bring my grand sport to a track and track it with the roof down, itll be a great idea
hope to get a used Corvette in the future. Is maintenance on the corvettes costly?
Only had my 2017 for 2 months. First two oil changes are free. afterwards, it's $100 each for synthetic.
Wow those brakes are awesome. Brembro for sure.
I heard you can hold down the left paddle to auto shift to the lowest allowable gear in manual mode instead of having to quickly flip down through them all to get there
You would rather have the paddles on the column? How would you up shift out of a turn?
I understand how a Corvette might not be for everyone. That said, I'm curious, what kind of car suits your needs. I'm a newbie to this channel so I don't know your personality as of yet. Oh... /subscribed.
I own a 2015 Z06, with the 7-speed manual, because I'm an American

Absolutely beautiful vette
Always prerer coupes to convertibles n i do with Corvetter...but the convertible C7 looks beautiful...is there a better looking convertible out there?
The flat bottom steering wheel was new for 2015 not 16 ... but overall great video
what is the 0 to 60 on this
If the suspension was softer this could be a very nice American GT Car...
4:59 "Let's shee if Chevy has made any changes for 2018." Lmao one take no mistakes he says
Good car control with "Flip-Flops" on ?
Great review.
Beautiful machine
Pushrods for life.

Nice car i love corvettes and lambo to
Wrong, the GS comes with magnetic ride control standard.
amazing car

He said "the screen still goes down so you can hide all your drugs" 😂😂😂💀💀💀
Nice Review.
good review
This car already has standard magnetic ride control.... the Z07 package only has upgraded MRC that's stiffer for track use. Check your facts.
Andy Chen check that gay ass profile pic.. I'm sure he's a better driver than you anyways
Thanks for catching that! The specs sheet confused us a bit when we read the Z07 package option and what it included. I'd prefer a ZL1 Camaro over Z06 Corvette but the vette would of course get more looks.
Legion Z why
yeah, you could make that argument
Personally wasn’t a corvette fan until i watched this, lol

"Screen folds down so you can hide your drugs" 😂😂
The Grand Sport C7 might be the best Corvette I've ever seen
Alex its little bit to slow man... 512 hp like C6 z06 would be great!
"Hide your drugs" lmao
This car is freakin' GORGEOUS!!!
2017 Grand Sport absolutely has an automatic lock function in the settings. Mine locks 10 seconds after you close the door. Either yours wasn't turned on in the settings or they eliminated it for 2018.

It's so nice for Chevrolet to take drug dealers into consideration by giving them a place to hide their drugs.
Yep....that's what Chevy had in mind
911's back in the day had the smuggler compartment in the frunk :)
That's where you put the pussy magnet.
stuna101a c
you must be leading a great life to think everything is a drug compartment...chalk up another line Kenny
That actually makes me want a convertible. And I really like the subtle silver... nice balance. But a Corvette is the raw brutal car that I'd rather have with a manual transmission.
In my opinion the corvette looks better than a porche it looks incredible
Alfredo Martinez

Pube83 talking about car looks when you have a pink ferrari as your profile pic lol
911s look like melted jelly beans. At least the vettes have that proper axle to dash ratio, giving it some nice proportions.
I like the look of the vette over the porsche....*DROOLS*
C7 looks exactly like the c6 , esp the convertible.
“So you can store your drugs” that had me rolling. I had to rewind it to make sure I heard what I thought I heard 😂😂
I hate soft tops. Ruins the look
You've never driven a Vette convertible, so...
iMiguelAOG I really only hate convertibles when there's more than 2 seats...
I like soft bottoms.
iMiguelAOG I agree
G Money True, but design wise, it's not appealing
I’m sorry but you are mistaken in the head unit you’re able to control a walkaway function that automatically locks the Corvette. How do I know this you might ask your self, we own a 2014 Corvette stingray.
I actually loled at 10:40 "The screen still flips down so you can hide ur drugs in there so thats pretty cool" LMFAOOO
You "Laughed My F@ckin Ass Off Off Off" over that stupid comment? Wasnt that funny scab...
Should I trade my *Cayman GTS* for a brand new Z06? They are currently about the same value, almost a direct swap...the two cars represent almost the exact opposite things...oh the dilemma (yea yea...first word problem, I know).

eddie they wouldn't let me test drive corvette! Unlike porsche, let me drive their cars for a week.
still love this, don t care for the c8 looks
First time I have heard someone criticize a vette for being delightfully wide. You sure aren't a vette connoisseur.
6:09. Not accurate. The vette does have a walk away lock option. It must be selected in the options menu of the vehicle.
Idc what anyone says this is the best overall sports car in my eyes. I love everything about it it’s perfect
Kids were calling out and saying "what an aggressive looking car?" Really?
😂
I'd rather buy a hard top corvette
You can’t afford one. Stfu.
Are you kidding me? The silver paint looks amazing, it shows all the beautiful lines and curves in the car and make the carbon fiber really jump out. Can't wait to see the mid engine version, it will be Americas second mid engine car ever made.
OMG this car is THE BEAST.. thanks Redline you kill it as always...hope one day I can afford or lease it temporary...its LIT.
Fabrice D Jemeni lit they fuck
You will never own anything this nice. If you do, you will break it.
He describes in a million words how the car drives. Me - I just drive my cheap little car and get to places. One of us is an idiot.
Store your drugs behind the screen 😂😂😂
It's only 1.5" wider on each side and I don't think you can tell from the driver's seat.
I can't take anyone seriously who drives in flip flops. I just can't.
Especially, while driving a stick shift

Betting it has passive locking which needs owner programming. My 2016 Stingray 2 LT does.
I bought a Z06. It's just mad!
You dont need to push the button for opening and locking the doors if the settings are correct. Just have it in the pocket.
My 2014 Stingray has walk away automatic locking. I'd be surprised if they took it away.
3.7 seconds!!! Like a fucking ROCKET
Re locking the car, you can program it to lock itself when you walk away with the FOB. Homework?
Should you have to work that hard to lock your car in the most convenient way possible? It should come out of the factory like that
@@FATGOOFAS : It takes a few seconds to go into the settings & turn on the passive locking/unlocking if it already isn't for some reason. A monkey could do it.
