- Welcome to my channel! I have dreamt of owning a Porsche 911 since I was a kid. I will be documenting everything on the car, from the story, to the first drive, shipping, detailing, track days, etc.
In this video, I talk about factory options, current modifications, future modifications, and what I paid for it

Thank you and look out for more!
The audio didn't come out right in certain parts, my apologies!
PASM is adaptive suspension management, nothing to do with stability. That's PSM. Basalt Black was available across the range and in 996 to, and later generations. That looks like a laser jammer in the front bumper, not a radar detector. 997.1 sounds so much better than 997.2. Great car!
Öhlins Road & Track coilovers. You can thank me later.
I have Ohlins coilovers Mi20 in my 997.1 C2 manual that I bought 3 weeks ago. I can't report on them yet as I broke my ankle next day!
997 is the best! Currently own the same car in slate gray over beige in a cabriolet. Did a solid 200 mile trip over the weekend with the car and it got almost 30 mpg while leading the pack.
You're gonna love this car, keep it stock and she'll never let you down. If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and put Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on the car and get a spindle alignment. Mine came with Pirelli tires and they would twitch at highspeeds and slide.. The Michelins really transformed the ride.
Beautiful car, enjoy!
That's awesome man. Yah no real aftermarket plans outside coilovers since I have to replace OEM ones soon.
4s are definitely on the list!
Very interested to see what upgrades you get!
Congrats it is a sweet car. Did you get any service records with the purchase? depending on the the exact date of manufacture you should check on if the IMS bearing has been replaced or upgraded. If that fails you will need a new engine.
I have every service record in a folder. My production date is the non serviceable IMS so good there.
@@DavidFigs That is awesome, that is the big worry on the 997.1 early models. Also the OEM sport exhaust is great and saves you from needing to do an upgrade. The closer to stock you leave it the better it will hold value. If the front is in good shape (few chips) maybe add a full PPF from xpel and some ceramic to the wheels.
ceramic coating
Grats on the new car!
Btw the model designation seems slightly crooked check that out
rear-ended & fixed poorly.
Yep I'm going to take it off, can't find my heat gun...
Great car, I have the 08 carrera s. Love the car also 15 macan s. Go porsche.
Very clean
Thank you!
I think the alcantera GT3 shifter could look cool. You’re talking about the 997 GT3? I’d be interested in doing something similar. I really love the 991 alcantera and metal shifter but I don’t think it’d fit without lots of mods onto a 997 but I’ve never seen the hardware. Anyways love the video!
Yah the 997 gt3 shifter. From my research most 997 gt3 parts are plug and play on a 997 S. I actually ordered it the day I bought the car but then was worried the dark alcantera would look terrible in a sea of brown.
I was thinking gt3 style steering wheel, gt3 shifter, and some bucket seats(aftermarket, def can't afford gt3 ones).
I've seen folks do 991 steering wheel swaps but not sure on the shifter.
Thank you 🙏
@@DavidFigs I also think that GT3 steering wheel would look awesome. Will stay tuned for your future mods! And I never knew this about the 991 steering wheel swap being possible… I love the 991 steering wheel. I’d assume it’s possible to do while maintaining airbag functionality too. I’m def gonna look into that, thanks
Yah I think I read it on rennlist somewhere, almost positive fully functional with airbag. What didn't work were the buttons on the wheel.
Man we are similar in our tastes. I just bought a 2013 Raptor and my next car is going to be a 997 turbo. Awesome choice on the Carrera S!
🤘🤘
Where is the dinosaur?
Still daily driving it. I have a Moab trip coming up. I have a 100k / 2yr update video coming soon
@@DavidFigs Porsche looks good
