    Just to add to my comment earlier and to add to Micheal's list of mods or changes. I have to retract my statement where is said I would really do any major upgrades or updates, but I would like to add on that I did and that was a full LED lighting upgrade to LEDs except foe the main headlights. The 997.1 came with incandescent lamps. The 991.2 I believe came with led lighting. I have a 2008 997.1 and probably the last of the incandescent lamps. This is a great upgrade thats makes the car a lot newer and fresher look. Cost about $ 100 us. For the interior. And about $1k us for rear and front indicator/fogs. Not including the new led headlamps. Be aware of the cheaper stuff on eBay.. They are know to throw fault codes.. Happy driving my friends.. Great vlog Mike... 😃

    I totally agree. It's probably the biggest complaint among 911 owners. I would like to make mine just a little bit louder. Just so that when you jump on the accelerator, you hear the blast as well as feel it.

    I'm going to suggest that a sport shifter (GT3) on a 997 without the short shift option might also be the best mod. I have the sport shifter and a evoms headers to tailpipes exhaust but I think if I had to give either up it would be the exhaust. The long stroke of the standard shifter would completely change my driving experience. If you don't have one....spend the $1500 or so on the shifter. You can easily install this yourself as well.

    Took your suggestion and ordered a set of Fisters for my '09 997.2. Installed them myself and I'm completely satisfied with the sound. Engine seems to breath better and sound is great! I put up my DIY pics on Rennlist.

      I just saw your post on Rennlist 👏. Nice choice on the ceramic coating.I ordered the black but the titanium was my second choice. I also think the sound of Fisters gets better after a few 100 miles. Cheers!

    Very cool upgrade and I am loving the wheels ❤️💋

  • @josec.7402

    Michael, you are right the exhaust should be the first mod for a base car. I too was going to do the Fister's but ended up with the PSE which I got a great deal on so it was a no brainier. I do love your wheels and the stripe which I thought about adding on my car as well.

    • @MichaelBath
      @MichaelBath  6 років тому

      When the stripe was put on i was unsure of the colour. Now i love it! The 911 needs it i reckon. Nice one with the PSE ... do you switch it off? Or just leave it on?

    • @josec.7402
      @josec.7402 6 років тому

      I just leave the exhaust on all the time never close the valves. It's not that loud so no need to turn it off.

    Nice vid and good info, but u gotta have more clips of the car, its one thing to hear about how it sounds and another to hear it sounds.

      Yeah, i know. I shot that in London and my 997 was in Australia. Cheers

    For $380 after core return, it’s a no brainer, if your 997 isn’t equipped with PSE.

    Nice sound man. I’m kicking myself right now because I didn’t know about Fister’s refund on cores. I installed Borla exhaust on my car and promptly tossed the factory mufflers in the recycling bin near the garage. It would’ve been nice to at least try and sell my OEM mufflers.

    It sounds the same as the Gundo Hack I put a Sharkwerks bypass and PSE on mine 997.2 C4S It really needed it ... Always Smiling we should do a list of mods... other easy ones are engine mounts and short shift ...awesome , can feel the car in your Bottom Dyno. Here is a Starter for 10 : Porsche Sports Exhaust PSE , Sharks Bypass, RSS engine Mounts, Function First Transmission Mounts, Eibach lowered springs, IPD Plenum, aFe Magnum flow air filters , Evoms SIT Tuning.. Transforms the car into more what it should be, Porsche left a lot on the table to cater for the mass market.

    • @MichaelBath
      @MichaelBath  4 роки тому

      Its similar to Gundo. I looked at Sharkwerks ages ago but i think they only do the bypass for the .2 ? I did the Porsche 997 SSK. Thinking about engine mounts. Does the IPD make a lot of difference? Cheers

    • @tpmbe
      @tpmbe 4 роки тому

      @@MichaelBath Hi Michael, yes sorry seems Sharkwerks doesn't fit 997.1, engine mounts definitely makes the car more closer to you, I also have Eibach lowered springs and that was huge and looks better. In terms of the IPD plenum it is worth it , I took a while to decide as there was a lot of naysayers, It improved the breathing of the car , felt much smother and responsive on acceleration through the rev range , it was like opening up the lungs 20 percent at least , definitely suggest definitely the better filters and also Engine mounts also IPD worth it , those are a relatively easy DIY, if you have the tools. IPD is tricky but do-able, best get a technician. Keep smiling ..All the Best

    My first mod was very modest. I already have Porsche PSE so I didn't need to change that... instead I changed all the interior bulbs for Cool White LEDs. Changed the driving lights, rear number plate, trunk and boot lights for LEDs. Only other mod was bluetooth receiver which does phone and music duties....

    • @MichaelBath
      @MichaelBath  6 років тому

      I did check the cost of the Porsche PSE but it was too expensive, then i found Fister. As you know I still have to do the bluetooth... still thinking fully integrated Mobridge. Oh, and the short shifter 😉

    • @juinntang8

      . Work my way up from there...

    Exhaust is mandatory on any 911, especially a turbo like mine.

    The 911s already has a nice low frequency growl and much better torque. The base one is quite silent from my experience.

      Haha. Tell you what, maybe I need to book myself a vacation to Australia to check out Michael's badass exhaust first and we can do a UA-cam--Porsche-Cinematic-Universe cross-over where I appear in one of Michael's videos, and/or he appears in one of mine. The YT-PCU, if you will. :)

    • @AutoAmateur
      @AutoAmateur 6 років тому

    great video ! i live in Houston Texas and i'm thinking about picking up a 07 to 09 997 Turbo but heard of the Spun camshaft problems and coolant leak rubber lines (shark werks sells a steel pipe retro fit solution for that i believe) . Have you heard of the spun camshaft problems on 997 turbos ? d0es the dealer have a update part to take care of that problem if it happens ? its like a 8,000$ repair i heard if you are out of warranty.
