Thanks so much for the super thanks JEFF! Glad this was helpful!
oh.my.god. A YEAR OF MY LIFE I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE.
ABSOLUTE LIFESAVER
Oh wow! so glad to hear it's resolved and VERY MUCH appreciate the tip! Thanks Justin!!
Many thanks. Solved my realview issue. Dont always believe newer is better.
Awesome - I still have to roll mine back every 8 months or so. SW and Windows 10. FML. :-)
yeah but ur uninstalling ur current new driver what is that creates a problem with other uses of the driver
That is a reasonable concern - thanks for pointing this out.
I think this video is ideal for people who run into the issue where "It was working fine yesterday, but not it is no longer working". For those situations, the best solution is probably to roll back your driver.
Thanks again for the feedback and hope this helps!
Very clever indeed, I use windows 11, what driver can fix my problem?
Not sure - its gonna depend on the graphics card and the build of SW. I wish they had better support for this kinda stuff on their end..... but I guess we (the users) just have to figure it out ourselves
SOOOOOO many thanks, it makes me crasy since month on my HP Zbook mobile workstation with a Nividia quadro M2000M and Your driver works so nice ;) THX
Awww yeah!! Glad you are back up and running!
Thanks! Super Thanks for the tip near the end of how to tell windows to leave my driver version where I put it!
Awesome!! Thanks so much Benjamin! To be totally honest, I feel like I actually did disable this (I usually do) and somehow it got toggled back on. I don't know if windows did this as well during an update (which would be totally jacked) or if somehow the nVidia updated did an end run around that setting....so this saga might not be over yet. But I'm gonna keep an eye on it and if I find out that I have to make a Firewall rule to block the nVidia updater, I'll circle back and let you know how I did it.
For now I'm just gonna keep an eye on it, and hope for the best.
Thanks again for the SUPER THANKS!!
@@TooTallToby Me being totally lazy, if there's a way to do this update to block automatic GPU driver update as part of a script that is run post-install as part of admin image that would be icing on the cake. We have a bunch of machines and keeping them uniform is about like herding cats, I blame Windows Update for most "random changes" and "it was working yesterday" cases.
That one I dont know - maybe hit the SOLIDWORKS discord - there are some pretty heavy hitters in there who do more on the admin side of windows :-)
Driver 462.96 is not compatible with my version of windows. My version of windows is {Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Ver: (10.0.22621 Build 22621)) Where did you get the Driver (meaning how did you find it)? Maybe that place might have a newer version or another Driver that works. I am running on my system - Solidworks Standard 2022 with windows 11(as previously stated), and a video card - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090/PCIe/SSE2
I got the driver from the nVidia site - that really stinks that this is happening in Windows 11 with seemingly no easy solution.
One thing that sometimes works for me is toggling the option in SYSTEM OPTIONS>PERFORMANCE (in SOLIDWORKS) at the bottom for "use advanced graphics (requires restart of solidworks)". Maybe try that and see if either "on" or "off" gives you realview.
So frustrating! I feel your pain Marcus...
@@TooTallToby It worked! For now atleast.
Hi I an running Windows 11 and the 462.96 is not compatible with it, are you able to advise the correct driver?
No - you'll probably just have to do some trial and error - maybe start with the newest and work your way backwards.
Remember also that toggling the option for "Enhanced Graphics Performance" can also make a significant difference, so for each driver try toggling this option on and off.
Hopefully one of these will help - LMK how it goes and good luck!
Thanks legend, I had a suspicion it was NVIDIA's fault
Glad this helped!
My Levono i9, RTX 4080 laptop, solidworks 2021, and it can not enable Realview Graphics, could you help please? I appreciate so much.
Did you roll back the driver as shown in the video?
Maybe try to disable ENHANCED GRAPHICS PERFORMACE?
Great Video Toby. Question: I'm using an HP Zbook and do not see the option for Realview Graphics - is it due to the NVIDIA Graphics Card T600, or Driver?
Hi Art - According to this page: www.solidworks.com/support/hardware-certification/
the T600s are generally supported.
So it could be driver, for sure. I'd try that.
i'd also take a look at this article, make sure the BIOS on that system is set to disable graphics card switching. That way you'll always be using the nVidia card.

Let us know if you get it resolved, and what the solution is
Toby
PS - remember to test this when working with PARTS - since the realview icon wont show up in an assembly with large assembly mode turned on.
Really useful and detailed instructions with working links. Thank you

This has been bugging me out for a while - I've tried a few things running SW2019 and P2000 Quadro GPU. For some reason I didn't think about rolling back drivers - so it's good to know that "fix" however, I'm on 517.40 and cannot roll back or I will cause issues with other graphic intense programs I use. I've also lost ambient occlusion. it's a bummer visually sometimes, but ultimately I run keyshot to do final renders - so I just have to deal while designing. I do wish there was an actual fix that would allow current nvidia driver.
I also wish there was an actual fix. This is probably a good question for the actual development / support team at SOLIDWORKS, as I often see people running into Graphics issues (on other forums) - I'm not sure what that's all about, I just know that when I all of a sudden lose realview, this "fix" seems to get it back. But, like you said, that means I lose functionally in other (newer) programs. Blah!!! So frustrating.
What about if the "RealView Graphic" is greyed out?.... On some models it's greyed out (I can't change it), and on other models it's not greyed out and works fine (I can turn it on and off)... Why is this?
Probably TOOLS> LARGE ASSEMBLY MODE (in newer versions of solidWorks its called "TOOLS>LARGE ASSEMBLY SETTINGS" or something like that). When you have large assembly mode turned on, realview is disabled.
@@TooTallToby Yes that was it, Thanks!... One more question, are you familiar with eDrawings with Solidwork? I have a SW model with the "RealView Graphic" on and model looks great. But when I do an eDrawing of the model, the eDrawing shows it like if I had "RealView" off. Is there a setting somewhere so the eDrawing models shows the RealView Graphics?
Hey I'm using integrated Intel uhd graphics how do I go about?
This tip is really for people who had a graphics card that WAS working with realview, and then all of a sudden stopped. If you are using an integrated intel card, and realview WAS working (in the past) but stopped, this tip for rolling back the graphics driver might resolve the issue. But if realivew NEVER worked, then this tip probably wont help you. That card might not support realview, at all, so you'll have to look for another solution (possibly a registry hack, or possibly a different laptop with a graphics card that supports realview in SOLIDWORKS.
Great Video Toby. Question: I'm using an AMD Radeon RX 6600 GPU and I complete my solidworks real view setting but is not working...How can i do it AMD adrenalin edition ...please help me. i using Windos 10 pro.
You'll probably need to do something similar - Look at the SOLIDWORKS website for graphics cards and see if you can find an older driver for that card, and then try to uninstall the newer driver and load the older driver. To be fair - I'm not sure if that specific radeon model is supported for SolidWorks, but that's what I would try to get make it work.
hi, Im trying to fix a blobby mesh in solidworks 2022, is there a comand like( zbrush REMESH ) thanks
SolidWorks has "Freeform" which lets you push and pull surfaces. but the transition between 2 faces still needs to be manually established. So no, not really anything like Zbrush. there are add ins that do this in SolidWorks but I havent used any
@@TooTallToby yes “freeform” for pushing/ pulling surfaces . I wish there was a tool with no need to go back to zbrush because you loose your mesh geometry. Thank you! :)
Hi toby.. i need your help.. please,, im use geforce gtx 1650, i have problem realview stop working, i already download driver in description, but still not working.. please help me, what i must to do..
My solidworks version 2018
Since the GeForce cards aren't typically recommended for SOLIDWORKS, you'll probably have to a registry edit. Google "SolidWorks GeForce Realview Registry" and you'll probably find the key that needs to be edited. Just ADVANCE WITH CAUTION so you don't mess up windows :-)
@@TooTallToby ok toby, thankyou 🙏
Thanks!
Awesome so glad this helps and THANKS FOR THE SUPER THANKS! !
Incredible!!!! It works absolutely perfectly!!1 Cheers!!!

Should I have windows 11 or not
I still use 10 but most users have to use whatever OS their company issues
@@TooTallToby I have 10 but it doesn't work I saw much vids in UA-cam but it doesn't work again
@@TooTallToby I have great capabilities on my device, but I cannot use real view
maybe try adjusting the setting for ENHANCED GRAPHICS PERFORMANCE in your system settings (under performance) @@ahmedfarahat3680
