Thanks for such a great CFS recovery interview. I’ve listened to many recovery interviews and this was definitely one of the best. It was full of wisdom and exceptionally helpful information. You could watch this video 10x and learn something new every time.
Charlotte has such a soothing and calming voice and energy that could be sensed through the screen. I felt more relaxed just by listening.
Charlotte’s story and explanations of CFS recovery really resonated with me. It’s so true about the illness causing trauma as you lose touch with your identify and way of life. And the extreme anxiety of a dysregulated nervous system.
Instead of trauma with a Big T or small t, I like how Alex Howard says overt or covert trauma so not to diminish the impact of either type.
There was so much wisdom in this interview around properly resting, not pushing through, calming the nervous system, establishing and respecting your boundaries and self worth, gentle movement for wellbeing and connecting the mind and body for a sense of ‘felt’ safety.
I’ve slowly learnt so many of these mentioned things throughout my 2 year CFS recovery journey and couldn’t have explained it half as well. People could do very well by watching and re-watching this interview as part of their CFS recovery journey.
Bravo Charlotte and bravo Liz. It’s nice to know that we are on the right track to healing. 😊

Thank you so much for your very thoughtful comment John, it is so appreciated, and it makes the work I do all the more worth it. 😊 So glad that you have found your right track to healing and that Charlotte's wonderful wisdom resonates with your own hard-won discoveries (I also resonate with her insights). And love how Alex Howard phrases that to not diminish different forms of trauma. Sending my support!! 😊

Third time’s a charm. Thanks to those who watched the video yesterday and liked it! I realized the first version I uploaded didn't include the pictures Charlotte had sent over, which I had interweaved in relevant moments. And the 2nd version, I accidentally put a picture of yoga blocks blocking the intro. Good reminder of “The slower you go the faster you get there…” ;-) PS. I included timestamps in the description and how to reach Charlotte. Sending my support 💖 and gratitude to people watching!

I liked this video thank you. Soothing. It brings me peace to know that full recovery can take a wee while. And that's Ok.

Thanks for a great interview. I couldn't agree more about concentrating on a restorative practice first. I found that I had almost forgotten what it was like to be relaxed when I first started yoga.
One other thing that was very helpful was doing Feldenkrais awareness through movement classes. These helped release a lot of dysfunctional and energy draining movement patterns
    through mind /body integration .

Thanks Jim! Really appreciate that. Aye. Oh, I think you had mentioned the Feldenkrais method before. I'm checking out some videos on UA-cam. I watched a couple videos by Taro Iwamoto, and already noticing the shifts. Did you follow/recommend a specific course or instructor?

@@HealwithLiz Hi Liz, I attended a local class which is probably the best way if there is one nearby.

Thank you for the insight. Some of my own: these videos with white backgrounds are really painful to watch.

My bad, that occasional rustling noise when I'm asking questions is just my hair brushing against my mic. When Charlotte's talking there should be no white noise sound. I took separate audios and muted myself when she was speaking. I hopefully will fix this issue next time! PS. For people with sound sensitivities or who prefer subtitles, I made closed captions and even looked up some of the terms Charlotte mentioned to spell them correctly. Sending my support!

@@HealwithLiz Yeah for me it's LIGHT sensitivity! Those white backgrounds! Not saying you need to repaint your house, I just like to complain when I'm in pain... ;-)

@@grunt7684 LOL I CAN READ. I swear.... Oops. I somehow read "white noise." Anyway. I used to slightly up the warm & saturation in the videos for this reason (and for vanity to look more glowing / less pale), and will be sure to do that next time (no painting plans just yet)! I totally get ya dude. So in my video with Caitlin 'Caitlin's CFS and POTS full recovery' I actually warmed it up so much that my wall looks like a honey color and hers looks like a warm beige vs the stark white our walls really were (my face also looks yellow). I probably went too far on that one, but I think I got it right in my Jen interview and Vanessa interview. Also, I'm sure you're probably using something similar but I found the program called f.lux really helpful (if you're viewing on a computer). It's a blue light blocker and it adjusts to the sun cycle, but it can manually be adjusted to keep your screen at a nice warm glow. Not sure the mobile equivalent. Sending good vibes your way and to others watching / reading!
