Just a quick video showing a solo clear of the final boss in the new Root of Nightmares raid, Nezarec. Details, thoughts and timestamps below. While it's not the most difficult encounter, I am happy to have this out of the way finally. The only word I can use to describe the feeling of playing this encounter is "uncomfortable". There's nothing worse than unavoidable constant slows, blinds, knockbacks and randomly being pushed around in this game - which is basically all this boss fight is. The key part of that is that it's unavoidable, as I think it's fine if it's something you could actually dodge. But when it's being unpredictably spammed at you from all directions, and a boss that doesn't know what it's doing half of the time, it makes for an unfun experience.
Difficulty-wise, I'd say it's about on par with Solo Caretaker. Solo Gatekeepers and Solo Descent being a lot harder than this, and Solo Atheon I'd put a bit above this too. Which I think is also evident by there being around 100 defeats of Solo Nezarec after only a few weeks. Caretaker and this have similarities where there's annoying factors in both, and maybe Nezarec is mechanically easier, but there are more annoying things to deal with. The core mechanics of the fight are pretty straight forward and easy enough to learn anyway, and it mostly turns into a final stand simulator after a while.
This took me around 20 or so hours, and I think I had about 10+ final stand wipes for various reasons. A lot of which being due to adds hiding (or simply being non-existent), and a couple of trades with the boss. Most of the attempts were fairly consistent at getting to that point near the end. Outside of that, the only main issue was bullets phasing through the Swiss cheese that's otherwise known as Nezarec, or getting launched around the place when trying to set up for damage.
Lastly, this was probably the most asked about challenge I've had on the channel in a long time. With many people asking when the video would be up for weeks. I replied to a few people along the way, but I was waiting until this later point in the season where my schedule would be free enough to put in attempts. I was expecting it to take a bit longer, so I'm happy enough that it's out of the way. But I don't like to start big timesink challenges like this until slower points in the season, or where I can fit it into my own schedule better. There's nothing worse than starting a challenge and having to constantly stop for other videos in between, so I like to find a period where I can dedicate a bit of time to it. With that being said, I'll of course get the planets boss done sometime before the end of the season too.

@@whyarewehere3893 yeah this version of nezerac is way weaker than his original form if you pay attention in the first encounter you can only see his head and shoulders most of his body parts are new nezerac even tells us that he wants to test out this new body/powers he gained from the traveller.

The boss NEVER stays still for us at any damage phase. He's usually jumping up and around the plate to the point of little damage being delivered.

He probably got the RL last season during IB. That's when I got mine. Tracking/demo explosive light/frenzy and impact casing. Mine does 180k per shot if it hit and have EL

How are you swapping loadouts without losing your super energy? Your solar grenade clearly switches to a fusion grenade so shouldn’t that take away all your energy?
It's only the changing of aspects/fragments that causes you to lose the super energy

It’s vital to have Field Prep as a secondary option so you can hold 10 rockets instead of 9. The extra rocket can make the difference between killing him or not

Both are fine, the Blowout will be a bit better for damage though as you have the extra rocket to use
