Just a quick video showing a solo clear of the final boss in the Root of Nightmares raid, Nezarec, using a Peregrine Greaves Titan. Details below.

The hardest part of this is to have the melee not randomly whiff on a shield bash, or Nezarec to behave for more than 1 shield bash at a time. Overall, this isn't very difficult at all. But it was a great reminder as to the many reasons this is my least favourite raid in the game. There's so many inconsistencies and annoyances about this, both with Nezarec's behaviour during DPS, and constant slows and knockbacks the rest of the time. The running and everything else is fine, but having him behave for an attempt during DPS for a 2 phase is just RNG.
Anyway, a decent refresher for Nezarec outside of that. I haven't done any challenges in the raid since I did them in the first season, and I somehow must've deleted a bunch of my RoN gear between seasons (hence only having the 3 pieces). I'll probably do a solo flawless at some point, once I get the full set and a little bit of time for it. It seems easy enough, despite me hating the raid.

For those wondering hes getting a refund because peregrine refunds on tormentor hits (also champs and minibosses) they coded him as a tormentor meaning you get a refund
Edit: Also Tormentors, Champs, and minibosses take way more damage from peregrine than a boss normally should

eugh. I hate this meta of melee damage nuking bosses, like the solo runs with strand, too. not taking anything away from Eso, he's consistently fucking incredible.
@@laggers54I’d argue it’s literally only the few things going for the titan subclass and people want it nerfed.
(Then either complain about something else or complain there is no variety in the game)
For what it’s worth it’s a very high risk very high reward build. Where as strand is different to some capacity right; but with void you don’t have constant healing unless you spec into that or loop it into this build with void specifically.
I just find it jarring that people complain and want stuff nerfed it helps them to get a clear or complete things more efficiently (if someone is running the build).
Either make content harder then between enemy damage scaling or influx on add density and boss health. Not nerf everything to make the grind and build crafting pointless.

I don't know what's more impressive the solo kill or the fact your osteo hit level 1219 during this and I know most, if not all, of those levels are legitimate and not farmed/bought.
Since witch queen dropped, vast majority of solo stuff done by eso included osteo striga in it, so yeah, its legit

Ever since the osto came out, he’s been using it for everything all his solo stuff. Most of his grand Masters mines is like 700 and something so it’s possible to get to 1200.

I finally started raiding and just recently did root of nightmares. Nezarec isn't exactly a hard boss but I still have a newfound respect for Eso. Just insane really, so much to keep track of.
Also, does this still work or did they nerf peregrine greaves? I'm a strand titan synthocep Timmy so I don't play other builds much.
Just checked to see how it works with Nezarec. Since he is coded as a Tormentor, Peregrine Greaves refunds Melee energy, doesn't it?

@@EdwardFlanagin The boots only refund ability energy when you hit a miniboss, champion or tormentor. Nezerac is a legitimate boss, but because he's a tormentor in coding it overwrites his boss status for the boots to refund melee on hit
I wonder if this will work against the tormentor in the deep dive exotic quest. I took a break during deep and I have not been looking forward to doing the quest for a gun i won't use. If however I can just chunk his health i might be more willing to go fish these fishes.

What impresses me most is how he's floating around taking almost no damage. Why does it seem like when Eso plays the AI are all blind as stormtroopers, but when I play I feel like a pinata?

He is one of the BEST players in the world, he invented SOLO FLAWLESS challenges back in Destiny 1 and after HIM Bungie starts triumphs for it! Hope this answer helps you
Skill issue
Devour + Osteo
A few things: Tier 10 resilience gives you 32% damage resistance, plus elemental resist mods, and on top of that he has a few pieces of the raid armor that grant you restoration every time you use the buff to activate a plate. So every single plate he shoots the orb on equals restoration.
He moves and shoots and has health regen
do you get an emblem for doing that solo?
Ive been trying this the most annoying part is when you snipe the crits and it doesnt show which refuge to go to.
Okay I get why this works now, it's because Nezarec is a Tormentor. This setup deletes Champions and chonks Mini-Bosses but does nothing on Bosses normally except for this guy.

I’m thinking ab trying this, the hardest thing I’ve done in game is solo flawless duality. How is this by comparison?
By using this damage strat, which IS the easiest imo, you just need to learn how to run both sides solo. It might take you some time tho, timing can be tight sometimes.
Getting the running down is the hardest part, damage is a lot easier with this especially with solo operative.
Just make sure you have 4 pieces of raid armour for restoration off the nodes, not needed as much with devour but it is nice.

this only works against nezarec because he is a tormentor, which means you have access to the enhanced version of peregrine greaves' perk, dealing over 3 times the damage and having no melee cost

How is the melee charge not consumed on impact?
peregrine greaves normally are a 3.25x damage buff with no refund. When hitting Minibosses, Champions or Tormentors, they are instead an 11x damage buff and refund a full melee charge on hit. Nezarec is a Boss, but, unlike all other bosses which peregrines can't get the stronger buff against, he is also a Tormentor, so you deal the 11x damage version and get given a melee back after every hit on him
As stated in an another comment, perrigrine greaves refund melee on hit of a miniboss, champion or tormentor.
And because of D2 spaghetti coding has Nezaric coded as a Tormentor Raid Boss. So the Tormentor Code overwrites the Raid Boss code thus allowing perrigrine to activate.

Crazy how there’s no exploits, no glitches, no abuse of broken mechanics, no weird interactions. Every mechanic, weapon, and piece of armor is working exactly as the devs intended. And you can still comfortably 2 phase the boss as a solo. If that doesn’t convince you this encounter is a joke then I don’t know what will 💀

@@Esoterickk I used that and my shield bash was only dealing 350k dmg than I switched my armor to 4x ability dmg buff while having a darkness buff (idk the exact name) and than I was dealing 999k but it’s kinda annoying to play like that…

Nezerac is technically a tormentor, and the boots also refund energy on a tormentor hit. It's similar to how the weapons from RoN have boosted damage to tormentors, they technically do extra to him because of that

@@Esoterickk there is a UA-cam video by "cp z" where they hit 931,000 on one shield bash when not in the air long enough but when they are in the air long enough they hit for 999,999.
Unless it's something else I'm missing then you could be hitting for higher damage 🤷
Strange, I could be wrong then, but I'm not sure what would be causing the higher damage in that case. Because anytime I didn't have peregrine proc (didn't sprint or jump long enough), it would usually hit for 31k + 86k or so. Which would be roughly around the right number for it not proccing. From the info on it:
Grants Peregrine Strike after sprinting for 2 seconds and being airborne for 0.5 seconds. Buff is removed upon touching the ground.
Peregrine Strike increases the Impact Damage of Shoulder Charge Abilities by 225%.
Against Minibosses (inlcuding Champions and Tormentors), the buff is increased to 1000% and refunds your Melee Ability charge on hit.
And I had a look at some older attempts where I was in the air for a good 2-3 seconds before hitting the boss, and it was always consistently 950k for the peregrine proc. Either way it seemed to do enough damage with this setup, but not sure why it was sometimes doing more damage for them for being in the air longer, didn't think that was a factor

fragment, echo of starvation , extends deovur on kill , sometimes gives 5 sec, sometimes 3, depends on enemy type kill

@@nathanroyster1324 i think the base devour is 5 seconds, and after every kill you get like 3+ and that goes up to 15 seconds with two fragments, there is also fragment that gives more time per every kill.
" Echo of Persistence: Void buffs applied to you (Invisibility, Overshield, and Devour) have increased duration. -10 Mobility."
bungo did nerf that so now it gives smaller amount of HP per kill, only real(OLD) devour that gives full hp is warlock feed the void aspect.

Peregrine Grieves refund your entire melee energy whenever you hit a shoulder charge on a mini-boss, tormentor or champion.
Nezarec is coded as a tormentor, so you can just spam shoulder charges on him

Funny thing is this is an EXTREMELY good tactic, it is very easy to execute compared to changing your loadout 1x10^55 mid damage phase
Strats have evolved a lot since the early days. Other then hunter, titan and warlock are both 1-2 swaps max.
