Our Wyoming Life features our Wyoming ranch and our ranch family. Giving you a look into the workings of ranching from raising cattle to raising and harvesting crops. Erin will join you weekly out of the garden, showing you how she helps provide for our family through growing produce and selling at local farmers markets, and Mike will take you along as he tends to the animals and land of ranch, from calving to fencing to planting and harvesting hay.

Hello Mike. We had our first calf Saturday also. Heifer calf born to first time mama. She did fine and all is good here on the farm in Gordon Tx. Always a joy to watch your videos. Congratulations to Erin and the Farm store.

I live in Southern California and I can say it must great just to hear cows and nothing else. Other than here we have cars speeding down the street, loud noise from trucks, a concrete jungle and much more and it must be great out there. I find it satisfying to watch your videos and see nothing but blue skies and rolling hills for miles and that is great..i enjoy your videos, have a nice Easter!

Hi again! Great job Mike making all work for a vid for those of us that missed the live. For those who have never experienced this I'm sure it was really a fascinating event. Right off I thought it was perfect when mama got up and swung around when you came up on her because that's what it took to get that big boy out! Happy for you the weather is cooperating. That's been my prayer for you all week!! So much easier and more enjoyable with no snow and the good old wind! Texted Erin not to worry. It takes a bit to get off the ground but I know she'll be a HIT with her store! hey Mike when tagging calves have you ever thought about tagging the bull calves in the right ear and the heifers in the left ear heifers in the left ear because of the bangs tags but it makes it a lot easier at sale barns and at home for sorting calves for steers and heifers at weaning time. Just a thought I work part-time at a sale barn and I know it is an extremely helpful program.

Hi, in NewZealand we have Radiata Pine forests growing amazingly in dry sandy soils, in fact that’s what it prefers. One of our main timber exports. Once planted it needs no water. Love your show 👍

For your cows being mostly black angus, they are pretty calm. You can tell you are around them a lot. I bet you have a easy time moving them around.

Sounds like calving season is, overall, doing good. Some ranchers here in Maine are almost done with their season!
My season is far from starting. I can't wait for my buffaloes to start calving. But non of them are going to calve before onset of monsoon rains in mid June and they will calve throughout monsoon till mid October. But nevertheless I can enjoy creamy buffalo milk and mozzarella cheese till then.
El Hombre de oro yeah everybody’s season is different. All depends when the ranchers let the bulls rampant. Haha
My cows will only let me around if there is a problem they will even come to the catch pen sometimes but usually if I get close they usually won't calve till I give them distance

Were having an oddly rough year with losing calves. This morning we lost our 9th out of 31 since the start of 2019. This guy was born mid January and Tuesday I found him unable to get up in one of our crib feeders so I brought him into the barn with mom to check him up. Low temp 95.6, lethargic, unable to stand. This all happened over a matter of 6 hours from when he was noticeably fine. His temp came back up within 4 hours but never exceeded 98.7, he refused to get up to nurse so I gave electrolytes 3 times a day via stomach tube with banimine and nuflore to treat him for potentially BRD. He declined gradually getting less physically able to assist himself when I lifted him. The following day I milked our mom and mixed with some replacer and stomach tubed that. This morning on Saturday I came out to check and he had passed. We took some stool samples in and nothing abnormal came up so were at a loss. Do you have any idea what went wrong with this lil dude? We’ve had a number of unexplainable issues this season, all different from one another.

why do not you try to keep bovine young for fattening for a bettter price , and investing in a small slaugterhouse and passing the beef carcase ? maybe a little processing , sausages ,hamburgers and others staff...
